Fabulous family vacation. The staff could not have been nicer. They all seemed happy to be there. We never once felt pressure to tip to get service. The meals were lovely. Lots of choice. Only had trouble getting a table one night of the week. The beach is gorgeous. I loved the pool by the board walk for early morning swim laps. Special shoutout to Roberto at buffet breakfast. So kind and welcoming. Our only complaint was the stupid need to put a towel on chairs by 7 AM. I wish the resort could figure something out but shame on those who hogged two sets of chairs. Several couples saving two at beach and two at pool or two in sun and two in shade. Ridiculous.

Lovely resort, away from the city. Beautiful location, though open ocean means waves and wind that preclude many water activities. Rooms are lovely, but water in shower and sinks smells of Sulphur. These are small issues in the larger picture. Food is great and the staff are amazing. Lots of pools, loungers, umbrellas and cabanas to seek the sun or shade, and relax.

Beautiful all inclusive resort. Booked through American airlines vacation packages with airport transportation added on. Everything went smoothly, from the flight to check out. Drinks are a little weak, so order 2 at a time. Food was great- I ate at the buffet and at various on site restaurants, everything was delicious and made for a great value. Was able to enjoy football sunday with a great view:)

Enjoyed the stay. Room layout was excellent with hot tub inside and outside. Decor was a bit dated, though. Seaweed was NOT cleaned off the beach daily. Plenty of food choices and all were pretty good for a resort.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Staff are friendly, and Salvador is the best bartender, hands down. The buffet is best outside, and the staff are the kindest. The food at the buffet was some of the best we had.
Very enjoyable and plenty of pools to choose from. 😀

We are getting ready to leave today after 11 nights. We loved this resort. Rooms were clean, buffet and restaurants are centrally located and easy to find. Alberto at the Italian restaurant was very accommodating when we booked a large group for a family celebration. He arranged seating and brought food out continuously so we tried everything. Abdiel was THE best pool waiter, never missed a beat in keeping the drinks coming for our wedding crew of 90 people. He was friendly and chatty too, very enjoyable. And Ana, she was my daughter’s on-site wedding coordinator. She was amazing. She handled everything, most things without us even asking. She made a very special day completely stress free

This place is really nice. They really go above and beyond to serve you. The butlers we had were great Omar and Alejandro. Lisette in the diamond club again was amazing. Plenty of old and space at the resort.

Our family just returned from 5 days at this all-inclusive resort and we will certainly return. From the moment we arrived, customer service was excellent. There are staff members throughout the resort to assist you in anything. If something is amiss just speak up and it is addressed. Suites were nice, a/c worked. Some complain that the resort is not air conditioned so know this upfront and deal with it. Many brought small fans with them. We went to all but the Indian restaurant and the food was good. Buffet was excellent for breakfast and lunch. Pools were immaculate and no fighting for a seat. Guests were of all ages including families and it was wonderful. Entertainment nightly - again very good. Resort itself is immaculate. We did not go off resort as even in October it was hot and humid. One of our best vacations. Do not hesitate to book

My mother and sister and I had a wonderful stay at the Royalton Riviera! What made our stay especially great was the incredible service and hospitality of staff. It made up for a couple of other minor things that may have stood out as not so positive. There are 2 staff members that I must mention, Christian the amazing chef in Zen and Demaris, the warm, extremely hard-working and attentive pool butler! They went so above and beyond for my mother's bday, it was truly heart-warming and special. I really hope they get some recognition, they made our stay most memorable and we are looking forward to coming again soon!!

We recently stayed at Royalton for the first time. We had a great experience staying at the property. The staff was very friendly and food was decent. Really enjoyed the food and the exceptional service by Diego at Taj restaurant. Because of his service, we went to taj 3 times. The rooms were really comfortable. We also lived the Italian and the coffee shop was the best part!! My daughter really enjoyed the kids area. I would highly recommend this resort.

So much to do, and food was good. You could complain about the water(seaweed), but the beach was really in great shape thanks to their efforts and location. Oceanview room was really special! We enjoyed the sports bar. I loved the Indian restaurant! They did have to deal with an extra large weekend crowd, and the workers seemed to be showing the stress. Definitely would consider a return. Their buffet felt more like mess hall. Really loud, so diamond club would definitely been worth it. More than enough restaurants to try in the evening. Beer choices were not very good, but drinks overall pretty good. Margaritas pop up bar was the only place to get good ones. The pools were amazing, something for everyone. The souvenirs shop were way, way overpriced. Housekeeping was super! They never restocked the in-room frig though. So many amazing people working hard to make your experience.

All in all, it was an excellent experience. It could be improved by more attentive service at the 24 hour Cafe. Also, it would be nice if they could have a 24vhour self serve coffee urn. These are relatively small items. Overall, it is a great experience with plenty of activities being organized every day. It's definitely a family-friendly experience. The pool was nice and warm, even in January.

This place is everything you want. Amazing service and clean rooms. I read some bad reviews before I got here and was scared but this place is top notch and the employees want you to have a great time. The buffet is really good. I went to taco bar everyday. The Italian restaurant is also very good. I would recommend the diamond club upgrade. It worth it.

This hotel is absolutely amazing! We lucked out with a Black Friday deal. The upgraded room wasn’t necessary. The food and drinks are delicious! They use top quality alcohol for all drinks. The buffet was actually better than the restaurants as you had options and same quality. Edgar on the omelette bar is the best! Such a happy man and loves his job. Very nice to see and have a warm welcoming in the morning. We tried the Italian, Japanese, and Steak House. Italian and steakhouse was delicious! Japanese - great sushi! Lots of entertainment going on everyday. The beach is very nice and allows for a long walk. The ocean was a little dirty so we never went in. The main pool is slightly heated which is nice for when the sun goes down. Lots of pools. Lots of kid options and activities to keep them busy. We did two excursions- chichen itza and Xplor. They never informed us how long the drive was for chichen itza.. wouldn’t do it again .. 4 hour drive there + back. Xplor at night was awesome! Food was delicious at Xplor. Bring American money as we lost money converting $$ twice. The coffee and gelato shop is definitely a highlight!! Wish more resorts offered good quality coffee drinks and gelato. The workers never seek a tip and are always around to serve you. It was nice to not feel pressured to tip always. Highly recommend this resort!

Had a great experience at the resort. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Alfredo whose a bartender in the diamond club pool was very joyful and extremely proficient every-time I got a drink. The vibe team also went above and beyond to make sure activities were inclusive and fun.

I will just address some themes from other reviews and give thoughts on that.

Only those with diamond class get to make reservations. I didn't find this to be an issue and actually kind of liked not being confined to reservations. Only at the steak house did we have to wait. As a tip, go a little early, put your name down, then go have a drink while you wait.

I have added photos of the wine and costs. You can get a reservation if you buy a bottle. The wine is way over priced for what you get. I didn't try anything more than the house red, which wasn't that good.

I found the food to be good overall. The beef seemed to consistently be good.

The spa expirence has to be one of best spa experiences I have had. The hydro therapy was guided before the message. Then after the sauna and steam room was nice. Nrey (sp?) was very attentive bringing an ice cold towel in the sauna and a scrub for the steam room.

One issue I encountered was the lunch food/restaurant schedule. I had an excursion at 12:20. The room servicesaid it started at 11:00 but i was told 12:30 after ordering. Other restaurants said 11:30 on the schedule but were actually 12:30. Luckily the coffee shop had small sandwiches.

We enjoyed our trip immensely .
The staff were wonderful especially Pablo he is absolutely fabulous he was serving us at the Caribbean for lunch and Agave Restaurant for breakfast , he is so attentive and his beautiful smile made our day . He is so so kind , personable, and generous . His Manager, Jesus was also wonderful and treated us like Royalty. The food was spectacular and the wine was flowing.

Just returned.
Fantastic , large, clean resort. Beautiful pools .Excellent customer service from all staff .Beach clean and very quiet .Spacious bedroom and shower room.
The hotel food was top notch on previous stays here however this visit we felt there had been cut - backs - food choice and quality not as good as it used to be .Also some of the restaurants had no air con so was so hot .
We will still be back again as it is situated in paradise- especially if you go in quieter times .

Amazing hotel, staff is always trying to do their best. Lots of things to do. And super family oriented so it is far from the city.
In my opnion people that complain about this one will complain about anything lol. Drinks all day food all day. Pubs, coffee shop, snack bar bbq, all included. Such a nice experience . And super high end place .
My room didn’t look like it has just been painted but that what you expect from a hotel when they have so many ppl . But still my room was incredible.

And in terms of the ocean view you might not be right in front of it but I still had a view lol .

We enjoyed our first all inclusive resort vacation. We loved our swim out room and the services at the resort. The only concern for us is the check in process as we couldn't check in until 3pm. We arrived early from our flight and was hoping we could check in at least by 2pm because we were exhausted from our travels. Overall, the staff, food, drinks, entertainment and spa was AWESOME. Definitely would recommend returning and letting my family and friends know.
