Stayed here over February break 2024. We had not stayed here previously, but it looked like fun for the whole family. We stayed in a swim out suite with 2 queen beds and did pay for the diamond club service. The room was great and worked well for my wife and our 2 teenagers 17+14. We were disappointed by the butler service as compared to the butler service in Jamaica at another Royalton property. I think we saw our butler 3 times over 7 days vs seeing our butler on Jamaica daily with an escort to dinner nightly. So not sure why this is but others of us who had DC were disappointed by the butlers level of service. They were only good for getting reservations for the restaurants but even that took asking to get what time they were for for the day. With that aside knowing what I know if I were to go back I would not pay for DC and stick to the regular service as the buffet was good. We also did eat at a number of the restaurants with Hunter being the best with their beef tenderloin and ribs, followed by the Mexican place and hibachi. The place it self had plenty to do for us all. Like many places if you want to have certain seats during the day on the beach or by the pool get up early and safe your spot, which we did. We also rented one do the cabanas on the beach for one day which was $125 and one by the pool which was like $50, but worth it as I love being in the shade and wife loves the sun. I would stay away from Nexus tours for your transfer from the airport. I ended up paying for a taxi in both directions as they were not on time in either direction. This was disappointing as they were spot on in Jamaica.

Just returned home after 1 week at Royalton Splash. Checking in was the worst. Check-in was over 1 hour. It was approximately 25 minutes just for me. First they asked for an environmental fee to be paid. I don't know why this is not included in the original booking. (Ask for a receipt if you paid in cash. We were told during checkout that we had not fully paid for this fee) Secondly, you have all these forms to sigh, print and initial. I really think they could stream line this process. They also mixed up our room with another guest. It did start off well.
Food: over all the food was very good. The restaurants we ate were all very good. Japanese, Agave, score, smoke Italian. The buffet was also very good BUT my kid ate something (cantaloupe??) and ended up with salmonella.
The food trucks were also popular. The ice cream had varying flavours by day or time of day.
The cafe had good coffee and other warm drinks as well as cookies and ok there snacks.
Room: we had a basic room overlooking the slides. We had good room cleaning service and the fridge was restocked every day.
The buildings are well maintained and clean.
Water Park and pools: The kids enjoyed the slide and lazy river but it was March break and they did have to wait in lines. But they did try them all. The lazy river was pretty fun. The pools had lots of activities and didn't seem too crowded.
Beach: There is a lot of seaweed and they do clean the beach. The beach is a fine sand which was nice. Note: there is a crocodile in the area and it does go into the ocean mostly after sunset.
The main lobby is on the third floor and it has a great view of the ocean

We stayed during the Christmas period and had a wonderful time despite hotel being at full capacity. Staff were helpful and friendly and work very hard to make our stay memorable.

Food as with other all inclusive resorts were as expected and plentiful. The queues to the restaurants were not too bad, probably because we ate early. Those complaining of long wait times, please be patient. It’s a very busy hotel and one cannot expect to be seated immediately if there’s a large group of you. You probably experience the same if you were dining at home.

Staff were constantly cleaning the hotel and grounds. Even in our swim out room, there was a member of staff in the pool with a net collecting leaves from these pools.

Beach was fine - not turquoise blue. Better than I hoped and the hotel clear the seaweed daily. Waiters were frequently asking around the pools, beach and even at our swim out rooms (to our surprise) if we wanted drinks or anything.

This hotel has everything. Water slides / splash pool for toddlers to teens and adults. A kids club, spa and a great gym. Entertainment were provided throughout the day and night.

As for comments in sewage smell. The hotel is located near mangroves which emits the sulphur smell. We smelled this upon arriving at the hotel and rarely thereafter. If you are concerned, ask to be located in buildings 18 and 19 which are on the opposite side of the mangroves.

We would most definitely return to this hotel. It’s a beautiful hotel with great staff.

Kid-centriKid-centric hotel! This hotel offers everything for kids that you could ask for, from food trucks to 14 different restaurants, gelato stands, water parks, slides, kids activities during the day, plays at night, entertainment, and food options for kids that are picky eaters. The service is good. Overall we had a wonderful time, went with a group of 22 people and everyone had the same experience. Highly recommend for all children.

If you were looking for a Ritz Carlton - five-star hotel with impeccable rooms, top-notch service, a butler, and high class, this is not the resort. You pay for what you get!

BEWARE!! DO NOT SWIM IN THE OCEAN!!! I looked at five different websites with reviews for this hotel, and didn't see one review sharing this experience. CROCODILES IN THE OCEAN!!

There are mangroves right next to the hotel, about 20 feet from the ocean water. The hotel is built on mangroves and there are crocodiles all over. There are signs that say swim at your own risk, but they are little and far in between. The ocean water is gross and you can't see beneath it. There is also seaweed everywhere. There are crocodiles swimming in the ocean!! DO NOT SWIM! This shook me to my core that the hotel does make people more aware. Please please!

Great, family-friendly resort!

We spent 10 days here with our kids (4yo and 1yo) and several of my husband’s family. Although there's a conference centre, I would say it's primarily families staying here.

The food at the buffet was good, but the restaurants were great. Most of the time, my kids ate from the regular restaurant menu rather than the kid's menu.
I also enjoyed the cafe and cocktail bar.

Hospitality was fantastic. We received warm and attentive service throughout the resort.

My family and I stayed the week before Christmas. It was the best decision we made for a holiday vacation. The resort is very clean and well maintained. They have plenty of entertainment, drinks and food. Never a boring moment! As Diamond Club guests we had personal butlers (Oscar and Dani). Both of them showed great customer service from making all dining reservations, stocking our room and checking on us throughout the entire stay. They were friendly and personable! Diamond Club guests have many exclusive luxury areas but the entire resort is breathtaking. Absolutely love it and can’t wait to return!

This resort was overall amazing for my family of four (3 and 5 year old kids)!

RESORT - 4.5/5 - although the resort was built last year, you can see obvious signs of degradation. Some broken tiles here and there and some dirty spots but most people wouldn’t notice. The grounds are beautiful and constantly being cleaned and up kept.

ROOM - 4/5 - the room design is beautiful, however the bathroom design was a poor decision. The shower is huge which is nice but the combo shower/bath was a bad idea. There is no fan or ventilation so there is a lot of mould growth and it’s not cleaned properly. Mini fridge was always stocked with water and soft drinks.

FOOD - 4/5 - I’ll start by saying I’m picky. I’m quite a foodie and I enjoyed the food at the resort. It was not amazing by all means, but not bad either. There were many dishes that made me say “wow” especially from the steakhouse. Indian was great, Mexican was good and the Italian was so-so. The taco food truck was also awesome!! We also enjoyed going to the coffee shop each morning for the specialty coffees.

SERVICE - 5/5 - the service at this resort was outstanding! Many people go out of their way to ensure you are enjoying yourself and that you have everything you need. I’m shocked that previous reviews mention the horrible service as I did not encounter that at all.

POOLS - 4.5/5 - the pools are so great and massive. There are many smaller “tubs” within the pools that make them a bit warmer than the rest. These were a huge hit with my kids along with the hot tubs. The lazy river and kid slide section was unfortunately freezing cold so we only went once all week. There is a smaller pool with a smaller lazy river that my family loved which was much warmer!

BEACH - 4/5 - the sand was super soft and clean except when there was a wash up of seaweed. However, this was cleaned often. On rough days, the water was a bit dirty looking which is normal but on calmer days the water was clean and calm.

ENTERTAINMENT - 5/5 - there were shows nightly for everyone including young kids. Each night at around 7 there are kids shows. My children absolutely loved the shows and will be talking about them for years to come.

CONS - things that could be improved on are minor. For one I would heat the wave pool and kids slides/splash pad. My legs were going numb just standing in there. There is a subtle sewage smell that you can smell here and there. It didn’t ruin my trip but it could still be unpleasant.

I've never had a vacation like this one. It was our wedding and everyone has been asking when are we going back. Everything was great from start to finish. 54 of us (adult and kids) all had the best time. There was something for every age group. I was hard at time for all of us to eat together unless you went to the buffet but we made it work.

Room: Great and clean
Towles: Fluffy and nice
Buffet: Everything was fresh out of the kitchen
Pool and service: Clean see Omar he makes the best drinks
Beach: Not the best sent more time at the pool
There a dicso on Friday and Saturday good music
Coffee Shop: Good
Ice Cream: Good
Food Truck: Good

It far from everything so be prepared for taxi price and Activites outside the resort

My husband and I just spent a week here with our two boys. We were honestly very nervous after reading some of the reviews, but after seeing some encounters of people who were rude and impatient, I can see that it was probably naturally negative people who gave the bad reviews. First of all, every single one of the people who served us at this resort was cheerful and helpful! Pablo at the pool kept us well stocked with drinks constantly. Arturo at the hibachi grill was the best, most entertaining hibachi chef I have seen! The young man making fresh omelettes for my husband and son every morning clearly knows what he is doing. While we had a lovely time and enjoyed every minute, I will give some tips and advice and recognize that everyone vacations differently. My boys, ages 9 and 12 really enjoyed all the activities the vibe team got going every day. We didn’t find the water park that exciting. It was pretty small, and we never checked out the bowling and laser tag because it cost extra and didn’t look that exciting. Now for the food: a lot of the negative reviews revolve around the food and restaurants. We are pretty particular about our food, and while it certainly wasn’t the best we ever had, it was very decent for a resort this size. My advice would be to always go early! Get on the waitlist at restaurants right when they open. There are giant signs everywhere telling you the peak restaurant time is from 7:30 to 9, yet people start complaining on the long wait times when they don’t get there until 7:00. The same goes for the buffet. The best food is there early. If you go later, they replace dishes with ones that are far less desirable. Our favorite restaurants were Zen, Agave, and Rio. Andy at the burger food truck had a constant line, and deserves a shout out for his dedication to his job! We loved the food trucks and pizza by the pools. We made multiple trips per day! Speaking of the pool, here is the most important tip of all. Take towels and reserve pool chairs between 6:45am and 7:30am. Any earlier and the pool workers clean up your stuff and take it to lost and found. Any later and you literally may not find two chairs next to each other. We were shocked by how cut throat it was! We loved the spot next to the Italian restaurant. It was a very quiet spot and had close beach access. My only recommendation to the resort would be to expedite the check in process. It takes especially long, and after a long day of travel and wanting to get settled in, it seemed even longer. Thanks for an awesome vacation!

This resort was amazing for my family vacation. These reviews had me so worried before coming for no reason. The hotel rooms are so nice. Food is great. Entertainment always. Perfect resort for a family with kids. Everyone is so friendly. The beach could be better but with young kids the pools were perfect. More than enough pools and fun to keep everyone entertained. Spa was absolutely amazing! Also so many activities for kids. It was such an amazing trip!

Overall, I had nothing but an EXCELLENT experience with the Royalton Splash Riveria. As a Marriott employee myself, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience from check-in to check-out. One thing to note is this is a family-targeted resort, I did not mind at all (I was here for my birthday trip with my boyfriend), but if you are looking for a peaceful resort this is not for you.

We booked our stay through Expedia/Marriott Vacations. We were assigned a personal concierge which made it an easy way to communicate via Whatsapp! Ricardo (Expedia Champion) helped us make dinner reservations, book our excursions, and even helped coordinate decorations in the room for my birthday! Benny was also very helpful throughout our stay!

Oliver was very helpful with my check-in experience and was very kind in helping us get settled in while we waited for our room.

Alejandro was an outstanding server and bartender for us! He went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful first day. Some other great servers and bartenders we had were Reyes, Miguel, Areli, and Angel.

We did visit the Royal Spa as well. The valet Espana was very kind and helpful! My masseuse, Viviana, was exceptional. She did such a great job that I fell asleep for most of the massage because I was so relaxed!

Paola at the front desk was very helpful with any additional information that we needed during our stay.

These are just some of the staff members who were helpful and went above and beyond. Everyone we encountered was amazing!

The food overall was very good. The only restaurant we did not particularly enjoy was Agave. We loved Grazie, Ma Mason, Scoops, and the main buffet.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Royalton! Thank you!

We stayed for 7 nights in Dec 2023. A 2 room suite for a family of four, one with a disability. We wanted for nothing. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The beach was raked each morning, the rooms hotel, pool and grounds were clean. The buffet was slightly overwhelming so we opted for smaller places to eat. Occasionally we had to wait 30 minutes for table service so we would grab a drink at the bar. It was a fantastic vacation.

It was incredible, from the food at the variety of restaurants to the service and even the rooms are incredibly nice. Lady is a server down by the main pool and she was an absolute delight. She never left us without drinks and was a ball of sunshine. Don't listen to whatever negative reviews you read, some people are just snotty nosed up in the air, you'd have a hard time finding a nicer place for all ages. We went as 2 sets of mid 20's couples and we never had a dull moment. But saw everyone of all ages having fun. Will be returning again with a larger group, just book the trip here.

Hotel: As soon as i arrived at driveway of the hotel, i was stunned by its size, atmosphere. I loved the design, feeling of the hotel with ocean front view from the lobby. The floor was shining, the hotel front was huge without a door.

The info below is for non-diamond club guest

Room: It was very spacious, 2 queen bed with 1 small sofa bed. The shower was huge with rainfall shower head and very strong water pressure, bathtub(if you use it) is very big as well.

Service: The service made my stay different. The buffet servers( AM, PM), host, cooks were very friendly, genuine, attentive to detail, professional. Jorge from AM Server, Orlando from PM server, Mari from AM cook were outstanding.

Food: Buffet food was fresh, many choices with different types of cuisines. 24 hour café was impressive. There were several a la carte restaurants. Pool side eatery and 2 food trucks make it easy to grab lunch while swimming. There were 1 swim-up bar and 1 pool side bar for regular guest.

Pool/ water slide: I loved that they had a huge kids splash pool with large water structure and slides. They also have a lazy river but could use more tubes that are filled more fully with air pressure. It would be nicer if the lazy river had a bit more of a current.

Kids club: They accept kids between ages 4-12 (unaccompanied) and up to 4 years if entering with parents. It was nice to have the option for some kids-free time. They have a small indoor playground, X box, and have scheduled programs everyday.

Night entertainment: There is a different program every night, nothing remarkable but you can appreciate the amount of effort put into the shows.

Overall, I would highly recommend this resort to families with kids. I will be back next year.

This was my first time visiting this resort. It was wonderful. There are beautiful marbled floors and a spacious check-in lobby, and the overview of the land and vegetation is awe-inspiring. I would love to return here again and again.

Currently staying here with my family for 7 nights. I gotta say, I'm going to remember my time here forever, I might even bring my own kids here someday!

I have never seen customer service that was this friendly to guests. They really make you feel welcomed! Last night, we were getting ice cream and the guy working there was singing and incuraged us to do the same!

The food here is also very yummy!

Highly Recommend for Family Vacation!!!!

Overall 4/5 the minor issues were related to housekeeping not coming in a timely manner, which was fixed by having them come later in evening and our butler would follow up with us after completion. The other issue was one night we ordered room service around 11pm and never got it.

But the pros definitely outweigh The few cons listed above.

The diamond club was worth it !!! The diamond club lounge always had dependable quality food we could fall back to if we didn’t feel any of the other lunch options (which were all yummy)

The best lunch was grazie Italian as it was a very nice ambiance and right on the beach. The diamond club pool area has a daily cook out around 11-12pm

The diamond club lounge always poured great drinks and so did the diamond club lounge beach bar.

The staff was always very tentative, for example we were hanging out at the main lobby circular seating area overlooking the Royalton sign and she went out of her way to ask if we needed drinks. Overall highly recommend

Oh lastly! Diamond club gets spa access HIGHLY RECOMMEND that also they don’t keep track of the “free pass”
