Iberostar Quetzal

Iberostar Quetzel is a wonderful resort. My family stayed there in early 2024 and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Edgar with the concierge staff. Upon checking in Edgar informed us everything we needed to know about where to eat and the activities available to us. He even made a reservation for us for the excellent Japanese steakhouse located on sight. The resort is very family friendly with a lot of various animals for the kids to see and interact with. The beach is beautiful with lots of open space for everyone. The Iberostar Quetzal also has a lot of activities at night for your whole family to enjoy. We were very impressed with the resort and plan to vacation at other Iberostar properties in the future.

The smoke house on property is a wonderful restaurant! Everything was awesome. Meats were perfectly tender and seasoned. Cream corn was amazing. We went for my birthday and they even brought out a cake with a candle! Service was amazing-so friendly and kind. I would highly recommend a reservation here.

We stayed for 3 nights, the service was great, food was good and the beach was amazing! Edgar (Concierge) was amazing, he was very accommodating with answering questions and booking appointments and reservations. All the staff were friendly. I would say the air conditioning in the rooms could be better but overall I thought the rooms were clean and comfortable. The drinks at the bar were watered down but still delicious. The beach was absolutely gorgeous! No seaweed! (Stayed in January) amazing night shows, very professional people. I would stay here again. Also I loved the design of the resort, very eco friends and designed around a jungle setting. Had a Mayan theme and was very cool!

This was the most beautiful hotel I have ever visited! There was a ton of food to eat and activities to do all day. The rooms were spectacular, and the beach was phenomenal, too! Irving attended all of us super well, and we are so thankful for his presence! If you ever need anything, contact Irving because he will help you with everything! Alejandra and Marcos were so great too because they were always engaged with us. I will definitely come back because this was incredible!

This experience has exceeded every expectation. Every staff member is a part of a well oiled machine. Waitstaff excels at anticipating needs and greeting guests with hospitality. Staff members are polite and friendly. Laura at concierge and Luis and Marielle with the entertainment team have gone above and beyond to make our stay here engaging, enriching, and relaxing. The restaurants and buffets have something for everyone! From the rooms, to the walkways, to staff hygiene, cleanliness is a priority that is upheld across the board. I would highly recommend this resort.

If you want a truly international feel with people from around the world, not a bunch of loud drunks, beautiful rainforest scenery and animals and a great stretch of beach this is the place for you.
Staff was super friendly and man they bust tail to keep this place spotless.
The food (buffets) were great. We also really enjoyed the Mexican alla cart. The Italian eh..fair. we look forward to going back again

If you require any service you can count on concierge Irvin to assist. He is helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. The property is surrounded by beautiful nature, The flora and fauna are unsurpassed. The restaurants have a large variety of fabulous cuisine. The service and property are impeccable. An added improvement is that this resort is focusing on becoming more environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Great resort with everything you need to relax and enjoy a truly Mexican experience. Our concierge, Liz, has been very helpful for anything we needed. Also the extra tours are worth it. Highly recommended

Thanks you so much for my memorable vacation for my family, I was outspoken on how the service is, this placed it's a outstanding and I most definitely will recommend it to my love ones and friends. I want to make sure that it is known that the concierge Mario Montiel went beyond our expectations and made it even better. He make sure that all of our reservations where set up and he helped us with our tours and brought us closer to our paradise home. I will also like to extend out on the rest of the employees keeping the place running smoothly and the food was delicious, thanks you guys so much and will be seeing each other next year !

The hotel was exactly what we wanted. It was an amazing week. The food was delicious and had exceptional variety, and the staff were very friendly. Jordan the concierge was great booking us a taxi, the reception desk were also great!

Wonderful time we’ve had! The service is just perfect Keyla is so sweet she made our reservations to diners and is so smiley girl. Laura concierge she knows how to really get guests feel comfortable and welcome! Food is amazing and if you got a chance go to the jungle to say hi to monkeys!!

Irvin was absolutely wonderful! He welcomed us warmly on our first day at the resort, answered all of our questions, and was very courteous and professional. His kindness definitely added to the first class vacation experience we had at the Iberostar resort!

Everyone that we came in contact was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and the room was clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife and lounging on the beach and by the pool. Keyla the concierge was very helpful in getting us reservations at restaurants and at answering all of our questions. Miriam, Romero, and Leticia were just a few of the fantastic waiters we had. Thank you Iberostar.

We had a very relaxing time at the resort. We enjoyed the wildlife throughout the property from the flamingos, peacocks, turtles, monkeys, and multiple others. I took this picture on our exit, I stared at the view for a moment to lock in the memory before taking the picture. I wanted to have a memory when returning to work, where I could close my eyes and think about my happy place.

Irvin concierge was absolutely the best! Thank you so much for all your help! Staff here is beyond top notch! Beautiful place ...don't wanna go home! Only complaint was temperature of the room. It's way too hot! The food & bars all amazing! Thank you for beautiful vacation...

The VIP Beach was clean and we were greeted every morning by our friend Javier! Javier needs to be promoted, his English is good, his warmth overwhelmed us an everyday he was just amazing!
This is our fourth time to this resort Quetzal in Playa and we have never had a bad experience! The food was very good all the restaurants were delicious, very clean, waiters very very helpful. The buffet was very good also and good service and clean!
The beach was so special no seaweed and the water was crystal clear. Plenty activities for children and adults. Loved watching families enjoy themselves! The gym was clean and a nice variety of weights and machines!

Danny Medinas rocks! His energy is as infectious as his smile! After meeting him @ the gym, and seeing him around the resort I felt he went above and beyond his call of duty. Always energetic, happy and excited, he was always a wonderful resource - providing info on activities, night life, and hotel amenities. Probably should mention his dance moves too ;). During the Mr. Iberostar programming he personally helped accommodate a particular dietary need I had, thus proving his commitment to service and hospitality. A phenomenal team member, an asset to the hotel, and he’s even not too bad are archery. lol.

The service was incredible, everyone was very kind. The rooms were clean and beautiful. The food was incredible with lots of options every day. The beach was incredible with beautiful, warm water!
