Everyone most likely already knows, but this is the best tacos in town. The atmosphere is great, if you hit it right you will get a little ve singer or band. I cannot recommend the taco loco more! It is huge and so delicious. If you come to Playa del Carmen, this place must be on your list!!

Definitely try this restaurant if you are in the area. We got a pineapple water and mango water to drink. Both really delicious and you can taste it isn't just all sugar. To eat, we got nachos, the taco with all the meat (which was really a large soft taco) and a dish with steak/peppers/onions and six small soft tacos. This was more than enough for three people. I would say skip on the nachos and go right to the main course!

Great food, with very rich authentic Mexican flavors. Every time I’m in the area a make sure to visit and get a Taco Loco full of all types of meat with cheese. The tortas are my wife favorite, make sure to give it a try!

I got seperated from my group during a tour and spent 3 days in the Mexican jungle. I fought 2 Panthers and iguanas the size of dolphins. It was a trying time in my life. But I finally emerged from the jungle and found El Fogon. The tacos were incredible. The service on point and you can't beat the price. I will forever remember the Panthers and will never forget the tacos.

Amazing restaurant with great tacos. Made a point of getting off the all inclusive to try something legit. Tried the pastor, top sirloin and chorizo. All three were fantastic. A must try place.

We got special meat plate for 6 people. Lots of steak, pork, chicken. It’s always busy but people are efficient there only had 10 min wait. For less than $20 a person including drinks and tips. You can’t beat the value.

There's a reason this place is always busy! The food is great and super fresh (cooked on several outdoor spits). We enjoyed two different variations of an el pastor mix.

Very authentic Mexican restaurant. We tried everything, tacos, tortas, quesadillas, and nachos. The food was fresh and very tasty. We also tried the mango and pineapple fruit water. Mango is highly recommended. Excellent customer service and very busy restaurant. Highly recommended spot to grab food.

The place caught my interest because at around 1pm on a weekday it was very crowded, had to wait about 10min. for a table for two.
The staff was super fast, attentive and friendly.
I felt kinda basic that day so I went for tacos, guac and quesadillas which were all excellent!
They serve cactus salad as a free side dish.
Also: very reasonable prices, the taco al pastor con queso was just $30.
Only thing I didnt like was the loud music from a generic youtube reggaeton playlist (with ads :-))

Great place great food and great service. The price is much more friendly than those closer to 5th Ave. It is only 5min walk from.5th Ave to El Fogon. They are also very fast. So though there may be a line, it won't take too long to get a seat. Plus the food and drink and the price is worth the wait!

Tasty food for a good price!!! Service was fast and friendly. We got complementary starter with fresh vegetables. Food was exceptional and Mexican atmosphere where locals eat as well.

This place was absolutely amazing during our stay at Playa. The food was so good we didn’t think about taking pictures. Definitely recommend going here!

The food is amazing, the service is very quick and the food comes even quicker! Wish we had found this place sooner on our trip. Steak fajitas, rib eye, and chicken fajitas I would recommend all of them. I would give six stars if I could

Excellent place to enjoy delicious tacos. We went for dinner, the moment you arrive you are passed to your table. While we were waiting for our order to be taken, we could smell the rich smell of the meat a pastor. Our dinner consisted of tacos al pastor, chorizo and an order of quesadillas. The tacos were delicious! And best of all, the prices are very good (local prices).
It is a bit out of the tourist area, but it is worth the trip to eat.

Best food I've had in Mexico and possibly best food I've had in my life. Absolute perfection. I'm glad we got this place recommended by the taxi driver. I wish I could give him a bigger tip now... This is the only place we ate outside of all-inclusive hotel and we couldn't be in a better place. Must eat when in Playa Del Carmen!
If you're super hungry, get Pastor Fajitas, it's a portion for almost 2 people. You'll thank me later. Also chorizo tacos will surprise you

The food is amazing. I thought the reviews were bots. No way somewhere has 10k+ and is still up in the 5 star range, but here we are. Well worth the 15min line to get a seat. Would come again, and suggest you do too.

The food and drinks were delicious! Be prepared to wait a little for a table, but it's well worth it! Great service, quick delivery of food, and most items are enough to share with loved ones! I highly recommend this authentic cuisine over the plethora of chain or gimmicky restaurants in the area!

The place is quite popular and on popular days be ready to wait a bit. However the queue moves fast. They have some vegetarian options. I ordered the vegetarian Alhambra and it was quite amazing. I was not expecting much as it is only grilled veggies with tortillas. However, the grilled veggies tasted amazing on their own and the salsas were just mind blowing.
