Holiday Inn Express & Suites Playa del Carmen, an IHG Hotel

We had to get away from a resort we were staying at on Cozumel and this much cheaper hotel was better equipped and had better food, good coffee and great staff.

The rooms were standard and basic, but had exactly what we needed at the time we reserved a room. A/C, breakfast included, free parking, good location, clean room and clean beds. Nothing too fancy. There is a pool on the roof top. The parking is accessible via the back street. The parking is kind of tight, but doable. The staff were nice and professional. The location was great, close to shopping and dining and the beach. I would recommend!

Hotel location is very close to the very busy 10th Avenue (the happening road). But, far enough so you cannot hear any of the partying late into the night.

Loved that they provided FREE 24x7 coffee (regular and decaf) and tea.

The free breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of hot and cold options, including a great fruit and yoghurt bar

Easy access to the beach.

It's great for someone who does not want an all-inclusive.

The entire staff was friendly, and efficient.

Free indoor car parking in the basement is very useful.

The room was spacious, very clean and well designed, with all the creature comforts. I, especially, appreciated the long luggage rack where I could place my suitcase, and open and take out stuff without having to place the suitcase, on the bed. Above the luggage rack were hooks to hang clothes. Very simple, efficient and thoughtful design, without being visible from the room's door.

My room's balcony, facing the back street of the hotel, was great.

You cannot get a view of the sea, but that did not matter since I used the room, only for the nights and mornings, and spent all my time outside.

The pool is COLD! And small - so just be prepared for that. But it was never crowded when we were there. Pool was very clean and well kept.

Hotel is in an excellent location. Easy walking distance to 5th ave and many restaurants.

The little churro shop across the street is delicious!

We loved the rooftop pool, cleaned rooms and great service. Breakfast was good and should make everyone happy. Coffee is available all day. Ask the reception for your hairdryer if missing in your room. AND you can get towels at the reception for the pool or to go to the beach. Don’t lose them or you pay! We had a wonderful stay and i can only recommend this hotel. Next to the bank and shopping mall as well as small grocery store. You have a fridge in your room to keep your water fresh.

However, the location, the size of the room, and the splendor of the breakfast are beyond description.

We had a great stay this winter. The suites are spacious with a microwave, mini fridge and an extra sink, which were perfect to prepare our baby’s meals. During breakfast Elena and Alexander were super accommodating and made us feel welcomed. The location is perfect, close to the main street and to several shops, supermarket, pharmacies, banks, etc.

Great hotel and location to stay. The staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is authentic and delicious. Just to name a few people, Olivia, the cook; Elena, Antonio and Francisco at the breakfast stations were fantastic and friendly. Room is not noisy and very clean and beds are comfortable. You are smack in the middle of everything in Playa del Carmen in between Cancun and Tulum with 5minute walk to the beach. We had a great time!!

The parking lot and security attendant were great. The reception was quick and recognized my Platinum status with a nice room upgrade and late checkout. The pool area was well maintained with a decent view from the roof. Breakfast was good and attendants were able to maintain control and make sure guests used masks. The location of the property was convenient for my needs and the price was reasonable.

Just got back from a late May vacation and stayed at a all inclusive for 3 days and here for 7 days. Didn't have plans to stay but because of most of the staff and the location we decided to stay there the rest of the time. If we go back this will be a hotel we would strongly consider staying at again. The staff does a heck of a job. Antonio the security/car check out man was just so pleasant and very good at communicating even though I just started to learn Spanish on this trip and he didn't know English. The cleaning staff was so good at taking care of what they could take care of in the room. I don't like giving 5 stars cause that suggests perfection or anything close. It wasnt anything close to perfect but the staffs effort to make our stay a good one was really appreciated. Location was really good.

Spacious rooms that are well designed and comfortable. I greatly enjoyed my stay here and would recommend the hotel based on the value provided, alone. The breakfast was delicious along with great service from Elena really made me feel cared for! I went in the rooftop pool only once but felt so relaxed up there. Like most hotels there was some noise and the construction of the hotel does allow it into the rooms so bring some earplugs if required and you will sleep well, like I did. Thank you to all the staff here for working together to give me a great stay🙏🏻

First time at this hotel and I loved it. The staff and food were amazing. The kitchen staff Elena, Antonio and Fernando went beyond. Their service was excellent. Hotel very clean and comfy and in a great location close to airport and in walking distance to everything in Playa del Carmen.

Highly recommend. Great location. A couple blocks from the beach. Rooms were huge breakfast was good.
Italian restaurant next door is awesome

We had a very enjoyable vacation at the Holiday Inn Express. The front counter gentlemen were very helpful and courteous. The room was very clean and the bed super comfortable. The breakfast was excellent; Antonio was friendly and very efficient as our server. Would highly recommend this hotel and location was near the main street.

Location , Clean Rooms , Good Breakfast and on checkout day they kept luggage for us to explore area. It's very safe place to visit with family , you can walk to Parque Los Fundadores and 5th avenue , lot of option to eat , shop and explore beach area with fellow tourist from different parts of world and mexico around.

This was one of the best experiences I’ve had in terms of lodging and the value one gets from it. I stayed here with my wife for a week and it was very good. The staff were all really nice and eager to please; the rooms were very clean, spacious, and modern; the underground parking a plus; the rooftop pool clean with a beautiful view of the beach; the continental breakfast delicious (thank you, Antonio!); the location centric to everywhere; and the price very reasonable. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anybody: it won’t disappoint.

Hubby and I loved the location of this hotel. It's central and easy to walk to the different restaurants and sites at Playa Del Carmen. It's right by Quinta Alegria mall and there's a Mega Soriana close by. Our room was nice and clean, as well as their gym. Highly recommend!

Location was excellent - you can walk anywhere from this hotel. Entire hotel including rooms were clean, the pool was fantastic and breakfast was amazing. The staff were attentive, very friendly and extremely accomodating. The roof top pool was a pleasure to use when away from the beach and having a washer and dryer in the hotel (free of charge)made our stay complete.
