Please be respectful. There are at least two signs saying no photos inside the shrine and after the first tori gate.

However that doesn't stop people being ugly and bringing in tripods trying to capture photos for their social media.

This location is about 10 minutes walking from the bus stop ( uphill walk).

The first torii gate of the shrine is alongside the roadway and goes up a small hill to the shrine itself. The torii gate corridor is flanked by pine trees and at the moment, combined with the snow makes for an amazing picture.
The shrine itself is a simple wooden building, the shrine office is to the right of the main hall. You can buy and write an ema to leave here. You can also buy a small fox statue and have that blessed.
It's easy to combine a stop here with a visit to Mt. Moiwa.

WORTH A VISIT!!! (if you don't mind walking)

We exchanged bows with a FOX in the middle of the gates!!! I'm gonna assume that it was one of Inari's messengers! (Maybe it sensed that we didn't take pictures inside the shrine as posted)

It was around 8 PM in the middle of light-medium snowfall. We braved the slightly difficult and slippery climb through the 27 gates up to the shrine.

It was my first experience walking through torii gates and that was pretty awesome. There were many scenic, picturesque, and aura-emitting(?) areas around. It was a quite memorable trip to the shrine.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! (consider taking a cab if you don't want to walk)

This shrine is about a 15 min stroll from Mt Moiwa Ropeway base station, so I made it part of my itinerary after visiting Mt Moiwa.
The shrine is small but very beautiful and peaceful. The tori leads up to the shrine right off the road, so you wouldn't miss it. The climb up is about 10 min (it was difficult to climb the stairs in winter, as it was covered in snow and ice. It should be a quicker, easier climb in summer).
Photo taking is not allowed in the hotel, but one can get very pretty insta-worthy photos from the entrance.
The bus outside the shrine is very infrequent, so be sure to keep an eye on the time so that you wouldn't miss the bus.
There are many trees up there, so so despite being on a hillside, there wasn't much of a view from up there.

Beautiful Tori gates at the shrine. You’re not supposed to take photos at the shrine please without permission from the management. You can write your wishes there. You can walk from the main road up the gates, or park at parking lots and walk down the gates

Pretttttyyyyy And Secluded!!!!

This is definitely one of the best places to go to when you are already in love with long number fo Torii Gates. Dont compare the one in Osaka as that area has many different areas to take photos at. This is just one main area and there are some small challenges to take photos of it.

1) there are signs NOT to take photos
-probably because of overcrowding and not respecting the area.
2) the gates faced the traffic light
-which is jz 5metres from where the start of the main gate is
3) the area is small
-unlike in osaka, this is just 1 small stretch
4) no parking
-if u still decide to come, we would recommend early in the morning to just do a quick pop by. Park at the restaurant, which opens by noon, so drop by bout 7-10am is good so it doesnt affect their businesses. Do note, that business owners can chase away/report u to authorities if u are not there for their services.
5) Timing
-we did say 7am-10am but d best is 7-8am due to the sunrise and the pretty breaking of clouds to make way for the sunrays.

All in all, we will recommend to drop by, especially in the morning and grab that quick shot by the entrance. One of the best hidden unshared locations by travel agents, tour guides.. cheers!!

If you come from the main road, then you can walk through the rows of Tori gates to reach the shrine. Or you can drive all the way to the shrine car park and do a reverse walk of the Tori gates.
Visitors who wants to take photos in the premises are reminded to seek permission from the shrine management beforehand.
It is also a pleasant bicycle ride to this shrine. You can combine a ride to Maruyama Park too.

Beautiful small shrine hidden away visited frequent by locals in an affluent neighborhood overlooking Sapporo. Quiet and peaceful. Typically no photos are allowed as I suspect they don’t want the place to be filled with tourists. Japanese maples surrounds the shrine accents the color of shrine and is especially beautiful during summertime.

I resembles the actual Fushimi Inari in Kyoto. a good place to visit in sapporo. People often visit even in winter. The bus connectivity and street car connectivity is available here. There are many foreigners visit too . During the winter its elegant to watch with all white layer around the place. Wonderful to consider in your visit. Its next to the popular place Mount Moiwa. Often people try to go visit both in single visit.

The shrine is super beautiful. Can recommend going there shortly before sunset, leave a prayer and leave when the sun sets.

Only downside: the pathway up was slippery. So don't wear your most slippery shoes. 気をつけてね

Lovely hidden treasure to visit in Sapporo! Was very peaceful and pretty with the snow when I visited in Winter. A short walk through the torii gates and only a 10 minute walk from Mt Moiwa ropeway so a great addition if you are visiting there!

Love this place.

Much better alternative to Kyoto's if you don't plan to walk too far. And there is so much less people here compared to Kyoto.

Only be careful of the ice

A beautiful place to visit with great photo opportunities. From Sapporo station we caught a bus No53 from the bus terminal 290 yen and and around 29 minutes to Keimei station. I was a bit worried because we were walking and the streets around here are very steep. It was about a 15 minute walk to the shrine but be advised it's all up hill. Well worth the climb though

Not as big as the Kyoto inari but its charm is being more remote and less crowd. Took a bus from downtown Sapporo and then walked up hill for about 15mins and then you see the steps and the tori gates leading to the shrine. The shrine was most beautiful and mesmerizing during the winter with snow covered red Tori gates with stunning photo opportunity.

Personally, the most beautiful shrine I had the chance to visit in Sapporo, I love the arrangements of Tōri gates and the place during snow season it's probably even better to witness. Pictures are not permitted though, I took one at the entrance before I realized the signs.

Beautiful place in winter. It’s closed to residential area. Do not interrupt others and be quiet. Enjoy the moment. It’s less crowded. 冬天拍照的好地方。近住宅區。所以要安靜一點🤫。冬天有捷徑可以下山。

This was where I proposed to my girlfriend. It’s such a beautiful place. Very quiet and peaceful. Will try and visit this place every time we visit Sapporo for sure.

A relative of the Fushimi Inari in Kyoto, this is like a mini version of it. There are still a lot of gates, but the trek to the top is not nearly as long. The shrine does not take long to get to as well. With the snow, I'd say it looks a bit more picturesque than the one in Kyoto. A short way from the center of the city and it's worth a visit.
