Great Temple Reviews

Such a wonderful experience. From the entry down the Siq, a narrow tunnel between multicoloured cliffs, following the ancient water supply to the first view of the red temple as we turned the final corner into the open square we were in awe. The colours and temple front carved out of the rock are simply breathtaking. So much to then explore, the ruins of the ancient city and amphitheatre, the dwellings carved out of the cliffs our two day visit could not do the area justice. Justifiably one of the world's wonders.

Don’t just walk through the siq and take a couple of pictures and leave, spend at least one day touring the whole place. Say hi to Manal. She’s the best.

Petra is impressive overall, be sure to have comfy shoes because after the siq there's only sand to walk

It's just gorgeous

It takes either a lot of puff and muscle power, or more bravery than I could muster for the donkey ride up the steps, but it's worth it. You'll be accosted in the friendliest possible way by the seemingly neverending parade of beduin traders trying to persuade you to come look at their wares... keep your eyes on the prize, get to the temple. It's a long time out in the sun, take protection.

How many times can you use the word amazing in Petra. I believe you could stay here 7 days and still see different views in the different light.

Giant pillars are most of what remains..but you can walk along it and imagine the scale of it when it was build and how grand it would have been...amazing!

An architectural marvel, one of the must see places within the lost city of Petra. You will come across it on your way to the Monastery, which is another must see in Petra.

Beautiful old temple from Nabatean period. It is almost impossible to understand how this temple looks like in the past since it is destroyed throughout history.

About Petra
Historical place in JordanPetra, originally known to its inhabitants as Raqmu or Raqēmō, is a historic and archaeological city in southern Jordan. Famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system, Petra is also called the "Rose City" because of the colour of the sandstone from which it is carved; it was famously called "a rose-red city half as old as time" in a poem of 1845 by John Burgon. source
