Qasr al-Bint

Qasr al-Bint is an architectural marvel that has stood the test of time in Petra, Jordan. The unique standing building in Petra..

Qasr el bin is in the middle of the valley. The whole area is under the sun all day but very close to the Temple ruins you’ll find 2 restaurants to either eat or enjoy some fresh juice, cold drinks or even ice creams. Public restrooms nearby makes it a great stop before taking on the 700 steps to Al Deir. The restaurants are under the shades and allow for good rest whether you are heading back towards the Siq or going further to the Monastery.

Awe inspiring, a longer walk than I expected to see that first glimpse through the rock. But it just reveals itself so amazingly. It also changes colour as the sun moves, from deep orange to almost white.

Huge temple with many walls in ruin. It was recently excavated by Brown University, and I have to say they did a fantastic job. What I dislike is that you are not able to enter the area since it is gated. None the less, it is very nice to see and is on your way of the long hike to the monastery.

The Temple of Qasr Al-Bint

Excavations and restoration work at Qasr al-Bint were started in the late fifties by the British School of Archaeology in Jerusalem and are still conducted by the Department of Antiquities of Jordan.

The Nabataean temple of Qasr Al-Bint is standing within a large paved temenos to a height of 23m. it is surrounded by a peribolos, an enclosure wall, to which seats were added during the time of King Aretas IV ( 9BC-AD40) according to two inscriptions, one of which is still engaged between the seats.

Qasr el-Bint Firaun, or the "Palace of the Pharao's daughter" is a very mysterious site in Petra, it is also on of the best preserved spots.

This is also called Qaser El-bint temple situated in city center just before climbing up the monsastry.

I want to see them there. I believe it proves that giants existed in the past. Look at the size of doorways and steps.
