I absolutely loved this place! We even went there twice when we were in Iceland. Took some nice souvenirs home (like candles, ornaments and other stuff). Also really loved the advent calender in the tower! The other shop was very nice as well by the way.

Fabulous experience visiting this shop. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, explaining some of the Icelandic ornaments based on old-fashioned traditions. So thankful we stopped.

This a place I have very fond memories of and whenever I visit Akureyri I make sure to make time to visit. It's not a "Santa's home" like you would find in other countries if you happen to go in a rush and in a moment that is crowded the experience can be different but for me, this is a special place. My kids enjoyed it when they were little and they still enjoy it now they are older. There's a lot to explore outside but you have to be really careful not to miss the small details. If you take the time it explains many traditions about Icelandic Christmas, Grýla and the Yule lads. I think many people go here with the wrong idea of finding a traditional Santa at home. Is not that kind of place. The inside is a shop, it's not expensive for being Iceland and if you pay close attention you'll find (again) lot's of info about Christmas traditions in Iceland, even a small cave to get a glimpse of Grýla! Most of the decorations are not made in Iceland but that is clear and you'll find a part on the first floor where there is a section of products made in the north area. Candy is delicious. The decor shop on the other side of the garden is a fantastic place with a mix of Icelandic, Danish and Swedish design home products, with a small selection of jams and breads made in the area. Outside there's a lovely hut with pastries and coffee where you can serve yourself and pay to the ceramic cat (or just go inside and pay there) and either sit and enjoy the place or have a small walk around and discover beautiful surroundings with small surprises hidden here and there. I think people expect too much and don't enjoy the place for what it really is. For me, it's a magical place and a mandatory stop if you travel with children. This is not Santa's castle in Lapland but a beautiful, small gem in beautiful nature surroundings. Nobody forces you to buy anything and is as enjoyable even without spending a single krona. Staff are always helpful and polite Oh, and I have to add this place has the most fantastic toilet ever, I won't tell anymore, go and take a look for yourself!

I love Christmas and I loved the Christmas House. It was fun seeing all the decorations and ornaments. It was also cool reading about different Icelandic traditions for Christmas. The house is cool and there is the largest Advent calendar here as well. I got a candy apple which was very good. It was an awesome place to visit if you love Christmas!

A christmas gift house located in the southern part of Iceland north capital - Akureyri.

Indeed worth the trip south which takes around 10-15 mins drive. Bring your kids along they will enjoy with all the fun things setup there. As you can see from the photos, loads of gifts and variety of them. Price wise is a bit on the steeper side so take note.

We saw alot of kids who bought apple candy or something? It looks so cute but was sold out on is 😅😁😛

Me and the family had a great time there. The shop keeper even offered us some Christmas meat! Always a joy to have Christmas a little bit earlier. Made our trip to Iceland a whole lot better with new Christmas ornaments that we will remember for life. All handmade by Icelanders by the way. They also wrapped it so carefully to make our journey home in one piece. Lovely place and if you love Christmas do not skip this place! Made us feel like we were in a Christmas movie.

A great place that brings to us Christmas Spirit everyday of the year. Very beautiful Christmas souvenirs, amazing place. In the shop there are lots of homemade products, and you can taste most of them. Great. Loved it, really did.

We visited this shop today. The weather was very Christmas like, with snow falling softly out of the sky (which for Iceland is saying a lot, because usually the wind is blowing so hard!). I bought a delicate wooden ornament, and asked if the gentleman could just give me some cardboard to protect it on my flight home. He very graciously did more than that. He enclosed it between two pieces of cardboard, then wrapped it with blue paper, and fastened the paper with a heart sticker. He was a complete delight. Highly recommend this cute shop, just for the experience alone. Oh, and you'll likely buy a beautiful candle, taffy, or other lovely Christmas items.

This was such a fun place, the best shop we went to in Iceland! The store is so much bigger than I was expecting, we spent 30 minutes in there because there was so much to look at. What I really enjoyed was that it wasn’t commercial junky Christmas items, these were truly one of a kind items and it was such a joyful place.
