Highly recommend! This outfit has full body shell suits for everyone to wear that are fleece lined and super cozy. These were in multiple sizes and so warm I kept primarily my base layers and skipped outer jacket layers. Our guide was excellent in keeping an eye out for whales but also telling us more about them and the industry in Iceland. We learned that during winter there is usually one sailing per day vs summer 10 sailings (across 5 boats). I can highly recommend this during the off season! We saw I believe four different whales while we were out including one right next to the boat.

Absolutely outstanding experience with Whale Watching Hauganes. We saw several humpbacks and had a beautiful ride. Everyone was lovely and so knowledgeable. Julia went above and beyond to make our family feel cared for. My two boys (7) and (5) have not stopped talking about this experience. We also tried fishing and caught three cod fish that we are cooking up now in our Airbnb. Would absolutely come back again and recommend this company if you are looking to go whale watching.

We saw 11 whales and 9 were up pretty close. It was such an amazing experience. I loved that they gave us red suits to wear and the coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies halfway through were so delicious and warming. One of my favorite things I’ve done here for sure!

A very friendly provider for whale watching.
We saw at least 8 humpback whales up close in the beautiful scenery of the Eyjafjördur Fjord!
There was coffee and cinnamon rolls on board and the guide and captain were very friendly.
We also liked the extremely respectful treatment that the they showed towards these incredible animals.

It was a perfect experience, the place is easily accesibile from Akureyi. We sailed for around 2-3 hours and saw a bunch of whales. The changing rooms are spacious and there are chairs where you can dress up with the sailing equipment. The staff was very helfpul and nice as they create an ambient and relaxing atmosphere. It's by far my favourite whale watching place in Iceland. I'd rated 5+ stars.

Brilliant experience. Spotted a whale within a minute or two of leaving the dock! Staff are knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions not covered by the information given. On the way back the captain was happy to stop to observe a minke whale that someone had spotted! Amazing! This is the second time I've been whale watching in Iceland. This company was head a s shoulders above the other. Thank you for an amazing few hours!

Great whale watching experience. Family owned and the only one in the Hauganes area. Very personable staff. You don warm. waterproof and floatable red coveralls. The boat can take 30 or more passengers and you can walk around.

Beautiful fjord. We spent about 2.5 hours on the boat and had encounters with humpback whales about every 10 minutes. None breached (odds of breaching is about 5%) but the pilot of the boat was able to get us very close to the whales when they surfaced.

Highly recommended for whale watching in North Iceland.

Really enjoyed this experience! Great crew, we saw so many whales, the whole ride was smooth and nice. We were travelling with a toddler and they were very accommodating and helpful when he didn't enjoy the boat / suit so much 😅
Also best cookies!

A good local company who has been doing whale tours for longer than anybody else around here.
They have a homey feel.
We only saw humpbacks on this trip but we did see a rare mother and calf together.

Amazing experience! We saw two humpback whales, and it was definitely worth the drive there 💚 we booked the visit online, then you can also eat at the restaurant next to the building with 10% discount.

Best experience ever. We went on September 15th and it took us less than a minute to watch our first whale. The team was amazing, we had such a fun and lovely time. They offered us coffee and hot chocolate as well as delicious homemade cinnamon rolls. We also tried some fishing but couldn't keep it. We hardly recommend this experience with this nice team!
Thank you!

Total one and half hour they take us to see Whale. Worth for money. Guys know very well we're the whale is. We saw three whale's. Crew members are very good, they explain everything about tour and details of whale. At the end complimentary coffee and hot chocolate was given. Optional you can go for fishing too. Overall it's very good

This was a wonderful experience in Iceland. The facility is very clean and well run. You are given an insulated suit to wear that will keep you warm on the ship. You will want a hat, scarf, and gloves. The front of the ship is 12:00, right side 3:00, back 6:00 and left side 9:00. The guides will tell you where the whales are spotted so you know where to look. Go up top and stand by the guides. You will see the whales before they announce them on the loudspeaker. The whales surface and then deep dive. They will usually resurface after 5 minutes. Recording works better than trying to take pictures because the whales move around and it’s hard to know where they will surface. Hot chocolate, coffee; and biscuits were served halfway through the tour.

On their website, it is recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes before the appointed set sail time. We took a detour to Godafoss and was going to arrive at Whale Watching Hauganes 15 minutes before. Just to inform them, we gave them a call to tell them that we would arrive 15 minutes before and luckily, they were very friendly and ok with it and awaited for our arrival.

As soon as we arrived, we got into the floating overalls (optional), which there were plenty of various sizes. These were warm and comfortable, so I would recommend wearing one.

As soon as we stepped onto the boat, the tour guide who had a great sense of humour (Johann), laid out some rules (basically which direction to view) and off we went seeking for Whales. This was very fast pace, which made it very exciting and funny. They offered complimentary coffee and hot chocolate, and homemade cinnamon cookies, which was very lovely.

During our boat ride, we spotted many Humpback Whales and if you were lucky enough to spot them, porpoises. When it was time to return, multiple of Humpback Whales appeared around the boat to flip their tails, almost as a goodbye. It was an incredible moment!

After returning, those who paid for sea angling stayed on the boat. This was only 20 minutes, but it was interesting to learn about sea angling and Iceland's regulation of fishing. Good size Cod were mainly caught and released.

Overall, this was a fun experience. I would highly recommend Whale Watching Hauganes. The crew that we met (Johann, Garbar, Arni and Soffia) were all lovely, helpful and funny. Thank you for this experience!

Also, I was speaking to Soffia and she mentioned that during the summer, a Blue Whale would visit the area sometimes.
