Easily one of the best camp sites I have stayed in.

Facilities absolutely spot on.

Owner was incredibly helpful and friendly.

WC and showers lovely and clean and very warm. Considering it was -18c a warm loo was a god send.

The location is without comparison. A truly stunning view on all angles.

One of the best camping sites. A lot of green space with nice views.

A lot of time could be well spent at the site itself.

There is only one washing machine and dryer available.

The kitchen is small but the dining area is very nice!

Great spot for camping. Super friendly staff. Clean facilities. A little outside the city so you’ll need your own ride or grab a cab ($25 each way roughly)

Great campsite! It is the largest campsite we stayed at on our trip. There is a nice communal kitchen area where we met some other folks while making dinner, and the WCs are clean as well. There is also a mini golf course and playground for the summer months. The amenities are great for the price! The attendant also helped give us information about the weather (yellow warning) as well as driving in the area which was super helpful.

One of the best and largest campsite in our road trip! Staffs are nice. Facilities are well organized and very clean. 2 showers and 5 toilets for woman in our section. View is amazing.

Large camping just outside of Akureyri. It is abt. 1.5 hours walk or 15 mins by car. There is also a bus stop in walking distance, but we did not try it out. Price was a little higher from what we were used to, but as it was all clean and spacious (even with the commercial day weekend ) the sanitary facilities were clean and always available. The place is huge with many different possibilities to do stuff, such as a Parcours over a smaller pond. Really enjoyed our stay here.

A busy place during off-season (or a shoulder season, perhaps), but great facilities. Do not open the fridge - it often smells horrible, not being cleaned as often as the poster on the door claims.

Huge fields for camping, so likely a very busy place during summer - don't expect to have your own place and silence here (regardless of the season).

Very very busy when we went in early august. But this was during an Icelandic holiday weekend. Pretty noisy, but it became quite by bedtime. Several showers and bathrooms so never had to wait which was very nice.

The View was amazing, the camp is well maintained, and is spacious with good facilities. They have a several toilets, showers, washing machine and dryer. There's also a playground for kids and common area with a kitchen.

Beautiful camping spot on top of a mountain with spectacular views of the surrounding areas. It is also open during the winter but difficult to get with road up the mountain completely covered in snow. Also the maps take you in the wrong direction, so look for road marking and sign boards to get here. There was no one on site so we did a self check-in. Only one shower was available in the main building but there may have been additional ones on a separate building. There is a kitchen and good size dining room to use for the campers. Would definitely recommend it.

after having visited and seen a bunch of campsites in Iceland, this one earns the crown.
2100 ISK p.p., but you get bathrooms, showers, *multiple* playgrounds, 3 nice ponds, fresh water to fill your caravan with, ...

the whole site is really pretty. and it feels right. many other campsites (+parking lots) just feel like greedy money machines (one of the saddest impressions I'll take home from iceland). this one does not. can recommend.

Really nice staff and I think the cleanest campground we have stayed at! Private showers. Beautiful location. Quite large area so I imagine it gets busy in the summer months.

Gorgeous setting for a fabulous campground. Conveniently located close to Akureyri’s city center and nestled between snow capped peaks and a pine forest. Very well managed with an entrance gate. A picturesque “log” cabin with tables, complete kitchen (fridge, stove, kettle, microwave), bathrooms, one bedroom (for rent?)and mattress on a loft floor above. Hot showers are free (included in the camping fee). There is another building with more bathrooms, washer/dryer, and even a grand hall with a stage where they may hold musical events. A third structure with bathrooms, showers and sinks is located to serve campers parked on a separate field. This campground is huge.

We came in two camper vans and had tons of space to choose from. This is our favorite site from all the campgrounds we’ve visited in our two week trip around the island. We are VERY appreciate of the washer/dryers as they are quite a commodity in Iceland as the constant drizzle wets everything! Thank you Hamra Management! If there is one suggestion i could give would be to open up the grand space and allow guests to jam on stage.

Exquisite and well organised campsite. Excellent amenities and fabulous views through the trees. You could have a longer stay here as the town is big and campsite for kids.
The one kitchen is small but if you are here in Summer you don’t even need it as there are tables and sinks on each toilet block. Excellent.

Nice campsite, super big with attraction for kids; nice warm bathrooms with showers; small kitchen with cooking area and kettle (no other equipment) and common area with few tables - WARM! I thought it would be hard to get to shower or kitchen as places are small comparing to amount of people but I was wrong. :)

Nice place with a lot of space. The facilities are good. The showers have the typical Icelandic sulfur smell.

The area is nicely designed and invites for a longer stay.

Good to know: There is a gate to enter the campsite - you cannot simply enter without registering in the little office. Nevertheless, it was opened even when we arrived 0:30 in the night.

Great spot to spend the night near Akureyri. You can pay and register online. The actual campground was closed when I visit in the winter (March, 2023). But you can stay in the large parking lot right next to it. The facility is warm and clean.
