The lobster soup was flavourful and comforting. The skewers were great too, very fresh. The salmon meat was the apt amount of fatty and flavourful. Had with a shot of brennivin although the tiny bit of shark was too exotic for my palette but was good to try ..

The hype from the locals is real. The lobster soup is great. They also have fresh fish on skewers grilled to perfection. You can get some dipping sauce if you want but the fish alone with the veggies on the skewers is fine by itself. The tiny place is huge on flavor.

We were recommended trying out this place from a local and it didn’t disappoint! The lobster soup is must and was so tasty. The lobster in the soup was perfectly cooked and sweet.

You can also order the fish skewers which is cooked to order and has amazing flavour. Must visit!

Great place for seafood. Friendly staff. Must try when in iceland. Some of the best fish i had in a while so tasty. The soup was amazing. Wish i had ordered more but kitchen was closed.

A legend for so many reasons. I ordered the lobster soup and shrimp skewers, by far the best lobster soup I've had. The service was friendly and fast. This is such a staple of the city, a must if you enjoy sea food.

Worth the hype! Lobster soup was divine and the fish skewers were cooked to perfection. Wolf fish is a new favourite. Very friendly staff!

The menu is small and mainly consists of skewers. We tried the lobster soup, which is their signature dish, the salmon skewer, shrimp skewer, blueling skewer and potato skewer. The food was tasty. The people were friendly and the prices were reasonable.

The place with two names - Sea Baron / Saegreifinn.

The lobster soup drew us here, like a fish lured by bait - we opened wide for a bowl each and were enticed with the Offer of the day - skewer of blueling, a fish never heard of, but the chef did not disappoint.

Separated with onion, pepper & tomato, the fish was tender and flaky. Not over cover, not undercooked. Served right off the grill.
Beautiful taste & must be fresh as this restaurant is located on the docks.
Worth the short walk from downtown.

Seating outside enclosed w wind breaks. Inside seating was in an upstairs room or two downstairs rooms. Lots of space.
Saw a pilot from local airport taking an order to go.

We had a nice casual dinner here a few weeks ago. We tried some different types of grilled fish and famous lobster soup of course. The dishes were simple yet incredibly fresh and delicious. Prices were a bit higher than expected despite this.
However, I certainly recommend this place.

Nice little fish restaurant by the sea.

Had a portion of shrimps and the lobster soup and they were both very tasty.

I also tried the shark with Vodka to conclude the meal.

Recommended if you are looking for a good fish restaurant.

What an awesome lunch!! We ordered the blueling, tusk, a side of garlic sauce, and we both had the lobster soup. It was all fantastic!

Don’t want to leave a positive review to avoid attracting more tourists, I must admit the place is truly exceptional. Indulging in the seafood coconut milk soup amidst Reykjavik's maritime charm prompts reflection on the complex history of this stunning country. Looking forward to my next visit, Seabaron.

This is a gem in the rough when looking at the exterior but once inside (if you can get in as the line can easily go out the door; it’s that good. Sunday night was so packed we decided to go elsewhere. Monday we stopped for lunch & wasn’t disappointed! The lobster bisque (not like the creamy soup we have in the states) was fresh & flavorful. The lobster was so tender. The salmon kabob was my favorite & done to perfection. The white fish kabob was very good too.
After placing the order, you pay, credit cards accepted. The register person will inform you where to sit… don’t be fooled by the couple of table in-front of where the orders are taken and paid for. There is a dining room in the back and a second dining room upstairs. The wait wasn’t ling for our food either. I did notice a back patio with a couple of chairs & tables to sit at but the ambiance inside is delightful. You won’t be disappointed with the food!

This local restaurant is amazingly has a local style of Icelandic cuisine, try Lobster soup and beer, go to top floor and watch all the details and enjoy asking the story of an old man started all of it!

The lobster soup is awesome. I ate the soup, veggies, and potatoes and all were really good. There are two tables next to the counter where you order but there are other seats in the back available. No reservations required.

Typical restaurant for seafood: famous lobster soup, schrimp, fish and vegetable brochettes. Very good, in the harbour

Before our norther lights boat tour we decided to eat in the area and try lobster soup. We were not aware that we had to create a reservation but thankfully the cashier said if there was a spot that opened up we can take it. It’s a pretty small area, upstairs are for reserved and downstairs I guess is for first come first serve. We didn’t wait long before being seated and once we placed our orders it came out within 2 minutes. The lobster soup was wonderful on a cold night, has a curry taste so it has a little bit of a kicker. They also offer a ton of bread with it

Great location with fresh fish and historic atmosphere. Went around 12pm on a weekday and there was no wait. The lobster soup was a bit salty for my mom but perfect for me. Absolutely delicious with the bread. Good portion of lobster inside. We had a wolfish skewer that was grilled to perfection! Meaty white fish that tasted great with the spicy mayo sauce. Overall would highly recommend and come back.
