Shibpur S.S.P.S Vidyalaya

As a proud alumnus, I had the privilege of studying at Sibpur S.S.P.S. Vidyalaya from infant to class 12. Established in 1950 by Shri Yogesh Chandra Mukhopadhyay, a devoted disciple of the revered Swami Projnanananda Saraswati, this Bengali-medium, Government-sponsored school under WBBSE and WBCHSE has been a cornerstone of academic excellence.

Affiliated with WBBSE and WBCHSE, the school's journey began at Haru Mistri lane, Howrah, and later shifted to its present address at 78/8 College Road in 1953. The current school building, erected in 1952, stands as a testament to Shri Yogesh Chandra Mukhopadhyay's commitment, who contributed his personal land for this purpose. Officially acknowledged by the Government in 1954, the institution initially provided education up to grade VI, expanding to grade X in 1955. The introduction of the Higher Secondary section in 1962 paved the way for Higher Secondary Examinations under a 10+2 curriculum in 1977, with the first examination held in 1979.

The campus boasts a rectangular playground, flanked by two three-storied buildings. The main building, constructed in 1952, stands alongside another built in the 1990s. The school auditorium, 'Surendra Mancha,' was established in 1981, complemented by a primary section named Bharadwaj Shikshasram.

With approximately 1200 students, Sibpur S.S.P.S. Vidyalaya divides its classes into sections A, B, and C, each containing an average of 50 students. Class XI and XII offer three streams: Science, Arts (Humanities), and Commerce. This dual-structure approach, with Bharadwaj Shikshasram for junior classes (infant to class 4) and Projnanananda for classes 5 to 12, ensures age-appropriate education.

The emblem, intricately woven on a square piece of cloth, proudly displays the school name, year of establishment, and the motivating motto: 'শ্রদ্ধাবান্ লভতে জ্ঞানম' (The most credited or honored person attains knowledge). The emblem incorporates four color schemes representing four houses: Projnanananda House (Red), Yogesh Chandra House (Blue), Vidyasagar House (Green), and Vivekananda House (Yellow). This vibrant system recycles after every fourth roll number, emphasizing the rich house tradition.

From 1999 to 2007 , rather said from 1996 to 2007 (1996 to 1999 at Varadwaj Sikhyashram, primary school placed same campus , then 1999 to 2007 at SSPS) 12 Years long Journey. The most memorable time what I have spend with this School.
Till now at time of Reunion when I am visit at my school I see so many changes from Color to Dress court, playground to building structure , But One thing is till unchanged , That is LOVE and RESPECT. my juniors are same passionate with this school like me..
