Visited multiple times. Recently visited by driving my own car and writing this review mainly regarding the parking system of the airport.
If you drive a private 4 wheeler, during entrance don't take the departure lane . Take the extreme right lane , marking is there for private car parking. Take an entry slip (where the entry time mentioned) by pressing the button of the automated machine just before entering the parking lot. There is an ample amount of space for parking , just choose a proper place according to your suitability. Remember the adjacent pillar number or you can take a snap as I did. This will help you to find out the exact location during returning. There is a basement parking lot also which also can be accessed. if you don't get a place on the ground floor then go for the basement.
During returning follow the exit marks . At the exit gates there are security people who will ask for the entry slip, hand it over to him and he will calculate the charge. I was there for approx 2 hours and I have been charged Rs.120/- .
Keep your entry slip safely, misplacing the slip may charge a high amount of penalty.
There are sufficient lights and washrooms in the parking area.

Dumdum International Airport exceeded my expectations with its seamless operations and top-notch facilities. The modern architecture provides a welcoming ambiance, complemented by efficient staff who ensure a swift check-in process. The expansive duty-free shopping options showcase a diverse range of products, while the culinary offerings cater to varied tastes. Terminal cleanliness and organization are commendable, contributing to an overall pleasant travel experience. Dumdum Airport's commitment to passenger comfort, coupled with its excellent connectivity, positions it as a standout hub. A testament to world-class service, making it a preferred choice for discerning travelers.

One of the most popular and busiest Airport in eastern India. Its very clean, well maintained and well organized. Security checks are efficient. Staffs are helpful. There are lots of options for food and shopping. Parking facilities are good also.

It was named as Dum Dum airport, later changed to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in the memory of the great freedom fighter.

Airport is very spacious & high inside though it is a medium sized airport compared to other metropolitan cities. Offers a fantastic & large view of the airplanes taking off & taxing in & out. Comparable to one of the good airports in the US country. There are two food courts inside domestic airport along with several stalls on the side. Cleanliness is ok but it has to be excellent.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata is known for its modern facilities, efficient services, and a well-maintained infrastructure. The airport provides a comfortable travel experience with a range of amenities for passengers. However, occasional congestion and improvement opportunities in certain areas are aspects to consider

1952 Dum Dum Airport, Calcutta.

Although it was not called an airport at that time. It was called an airdrome.

It was not as strict as it is now. The royal luxury of flying was beyond the imagination of most common people, so airports were not as crowded as they are now.

Only a handful of people were entitled to this Kalpa Yatra. At that time, many people used to buy tickets and go up to the second floor to watch the plane fly.

Many times he used to leave someone. Even when someone came to leave the plane or the big politicians or ministers from Flem Star were allowed to drive directly to the stairs of the plane.

It was regular till the 80s and then gradually declined. It stopped at one point.

I know there are many people who buy tickets and go to Dum Dum every week just to watch the plane fly and I have gone many times.

Now that would seem ridiculous to many.

This is a big airport in West Bengal. A good amount of aeroplanes fly from here to other airports of India nearly all big cities and abroad. There is a good rush I did find at maximum time I visit. Beautiful interior. Lounge access is also available.

This is one of the best and beautifully designed airport I have visited so far
Things are very organised and well maintained.
The drop section of the airport is in the top and the pickup is on the ground floor .
It has both national and international flights.

The parking facilities are very neat and clean and thus it provides no problems when too many vehicles accommodate. There are 2 lanes for pickup the personal car lane and the taxi, uber and other cab services lane .

Its very clean and continuous cleaning process is on . The staffs are super active even at the pick of the night .

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport is an international airport serving Kolkata and the Kolkata Metropolitan Region. It is the primary aviation hub for eastern and northeastern India. It is located approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from the city centre. The airport is locally known as Kolkata Airport and Dum Dum Airport before being renamed in 1995 after Subhas Chandra Bose, one of the most prominent leaders of the Indian independence movement, from Bengal. The airport's IATA code CCU is associated with "Calcutta", the former legal name of the city. Opened in 1924, Kolkata Airport is one of the oldest airports in India.Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport has two parallel runways, the primary runway 01R/19L has a capacity of approximately 35 flights per hour and the secondary runway 01L/19R has a capacity of 15 flights per hour. The secondary runway is usually used as a taxiway when the main runway is used. When the primary runway is shut down for maintenance purposes, the secondary runway is used.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport provides a seamless travel experience. The airport is well-maintained, with clear signage for easy navigation. Security checks are efficient, and staff members are helpful. However, peak times can lead to crowded terminals. The shopping and dining options cater to various preferences, although prices might be on the higher side. Connectivity and transportation services are reliable. The airport's cleanliness and overall infrastructure contribute to a positive impression. For a majority of travelers, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport ensures a smooth journey, making it a commendable gateway to and from Kolkata.

Good Airport...
Huge rush as it's one of the main airports in the eastern region ....
Launge facility available.
Restromms available...

To check in better to use Digi Yatra app.
Uber, Yatri Sathi app available...

To book through Yatri Sathi
- install app. Book cab. Show the OTP to counter. They will assign a car. Yellow ambassador:).
(In place like airport, Howarh, etc booking counters are there, so we need to show OTP to them. In other locations it works normally like an uber.)

To use Digi Yatra ( other option took much time due to the huge rush)
- installation, I'd verification and boarding pass upload can be doen online. But it may take some time to update in server.
Counter available for registration (through ID). And if the server is not updated we need to verify through security personnel (CIAF I think) near Digi Yatra counter ...

Hassle free check in and beautiful airport. Though the baggage check in security tried convincing not to take water bottles along but agreed as the flight was during the early hours.

2024 International Travellers, especially non-Indian travellers do take note that most international terminals here only have their check in counters open 2.5hours before flight time.

Getting from just the car drop off to the door and to the check in counters can take awhile - alot of people, and ur etickets and passports are checked. its worst if yours is in English, takes longer than the locals.

Airport washrooms hygiene can be challenging, definitely not developed nations level. Bring your own paper towels as contingency.

Immigrations is smooth for foreigners.
But security check is very messy, the locals will cut you, and the lines get shifted around a lot.

Travel lounge has basic needs and limited sitting capacity.

One of the most popular and busiest airports in India and the Eastern India. The interior is exquisite and posh.

Main gate becomes overcrowded sometimes. So please reach before 2 hours of departure to avoid last minute delays.

Security check in can be improved.

The lounge food is tasty but also can be improved. I have uploaded pics here.

It has KFC, wow momo and other North Indian restaurants in food court which is good.

This is one of the two International Airports of West Bengal named after Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. First time I visited there on 12/08/2022 coming from Swami Vivekananda International Airport, Raipur towards my native land through Indigo flight.

As Usual as a busy Airport, seemed Deep to observe all the employees busy with their assigned tasks. New People figuring out where to scan their bags & luggages, which terminal or gate to reach. Passengers awaiting & eager to meet their loved ones soon, with contrast to the ones who are about to leave their loved ones behind. Passengers awaiting to experience their first airplane ride. Just sit 1 hour at the airport & observe the people, we see people of arrogance, intelligence, confidence, overconfidence, influence, charisma and many more. At the end of the day, every layman is a passenger to the Airport.
