This is a pride for not only Bengali's as well for Indian football as many star players has played in this stadium from over ages...
The transport system to the stadium has been an advantage with the metro railways been now available in it's vicinity from last one year... People can easily reach stadium with help of metro nowadays although the metro service is not available in Sunday..
People can also reach the stadium taking auto or bus service from the nearest Railway station which is Bidhannagar or UltoDanga area... this has many entry points spread across the stadium and ample space to hold big matches... as well as it has Stadel hotel situated inside the stadium which serves as a place for organizing many marriage and other social events ... ❤

Loved it. It is situated in between of Beliagahata bus stop and Kadapara bus stop. It's a beautiful football ground in Kolkata,westbengal. You will love to see a football match between Eastbengal and Mohonbagan with a packed stadium of supporters from both the clubs. These are the top football clubs of Kolkata.

One of the biggest football stadiums in Asia with a capacity of 80k or 90k easily if allowed in full capacity.. The new renovated stadium has all amenities but yet many resources are not properly managed in the stadium likes of drinking water and washroom facilities... there must be some arrangements regarding these facilities and management must look into availability of some arrangements for keeping bags and umbrella during matches

Salt Lake Stadium, also known as Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Stadium, is the largest stadium in India as it can host around 85,000 fans. However, for security reasons, the government allowed a maximum of 66,000 tickets to be sold. It was established in 1984 and since then it can officially hold 120,000 visitors.....

Went there for the 2023 Durand Cup finals between EB and MB. It was an electrifying atmosphere with the ground being jam packed. However we were late getting in there and didn't get a seat until some football enthusiasts, not impressed with the quality of play, decided to leave after the first half.

The group has been renovated of late and looks beautiful. The well maintained and wonderfully decorated surroundings will surely make you appreciate the efforts put in by the ground authorities.

There were lots of security personnel and various levels of checking but that was managed very well by the administration for a mega event hosting more than 70-80k people attending the match.

Some of the points worth mentioning
- Plan to get in the ground atleast two hours before a high voltage match. Else the traffic can surely catch you off guard.
- Some of roads could be blocked by the police hence availing public transport will be better.
- Won't recommend taking younger kids to the ground as things could get heated up quickly with people using fowl languages, lewd gestures and sometimes resorting to fist fights during the matches.
- Getting out of the ground and getting a proper means of commuting back would be a problem as the traffic would get very slow and the public buses wil be full to capacity.

Also, one thing that I felt pretty bad about the groud and the hosting organisation is the seating arrangements. They have some plastic chairs and the number tickets sold or people attending the event are probably more than capacity. Something that they should look to address.

Also known as the salt lake stadium. I stayed here for 4 days during the National Kickboxing championship. Greenery is everywhere that was like a cherry on the cake. Loved the place. Hostel was well maintained with separate space for men/women. You can see hundreds of police vehicles inside the stadium. There are few restaurants like the stadel inside the stadium but the food is heavily priced. For ex: Mojito or dosa in the south indian restaurant would cost between 150-200 inr.

Morning buffet in stadel is priced at inr 499. You can often see kids, grown ups, adults practicing football at a mini court. There is a small lake inside the stadium.

Commute is a problem near gate 3. you won't find autos at a very high frequency outside. Sometimes it even takes 20-30 mins. Buses are regular but make sure to wait after the red light because driver will not stop otherwise. To certain places, you need to do a break journey. For example, if you want to go to sealdah then first get an auto for beliaghata then sealdah and will cost you around inr 27 as of august 2023. Ola/uber bike would cost you around 80-100 inr depending on frequency at that in the area.

Stadium staff is very friendly and understand hindi/bengali. Either of them were not a problem for me because i can understand/speak both.

Many international matched were played in this stadium along with various national level matches. Seats are very good and this is well maintained. Massive seating capacity.

One of the best stadium in India..one of the finest stadium of Asia also..huge crowd capacity..there are some scope of improvement also like good and clean toilet is needed. sufficient drinking water for the viewer also needed..seats need to clean in regular basis..

Stadium has 30 Ramps to enter from and 5 gates, other than the VIP Gate, which is on main road of Salt Lake.
Though Capacity is 68600, approx 60,000 to 65,000 are allowed.

Prior to 2011 renovation it had 1,20,000 seats. 2017, U-17 FIFA world cup was played here. It has Bermuda Grfaa

It is completely controllers by the department of Sports of the Government.

The stadium was established in 1984 because the club grounds in the Maidan area, each with capacity around 20,000, were proving too small for the huge crowd that occupied the grounds on matchdays. And while the Eden Gardens was there to handle some of the bigger games, like the Kolkata Derby, the pressure of handling both cricket and football was proving to be a bit too much for the stadium.

The stadium features three tiers of concrete galleries. The stadium has 9 entry gates and 30 ramps for the spectators to reach the viewing blocks. The nine gates include the VIP gate. Gates 1 and 2 are on Kadapara road, gate no.3, 3A, 4, 4A and 4B are on the side of Broadway; gate no 5 and the VIP gate are on the side of EM By pass.

The ramps are inside the stadium and link the inner ring road to the different levels of the stadium complex.
The stadium covers an area of 76.40 acres (309,200 m2). The stadium has a unique[citation needed] synthetic track for athletic meets. It has a main football arena measuring 105 by 70 metres (344 ft × 230 ft). It also houses electronics scoreboards, elevators, VIP enclosures, peripheral floodlighting arrangement from the roof-top, air-conditioned VIP rest room, conference hall and much more. The stadium has its own water arrangements and standby diesel generatiorsets.

In 1997, the Federation Cup semi-final match between Mohun Bagan Athletic Club and East Bengal Club was recorded as the stadium's highest attendance. 131,781 spectators attended the match.
The stadium's natural grass was renovated on the occasion of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. The grounds and galleries are clean and well maintained. Ladies, Gents toilets are available.

The stadium is quite impressive but the Police Constables (WBP) are very rude and arrogant.

The number of gates to the stadium has been increased to nine. Some of the existing gates has been widened, as were the paths connecting the ring road.
