It is a lifesaver for vegetarians because it is hard to find a pure veg restaurant in the area. It had good food with South Indian taste to it. We ordered unlimited standard thali and cheese masala dosa. Had a heartful meal for first time in Meghalaya tour. The ordering to queueing system was well organised. There was a waiting of 40 minutes when we reached there for lunch. Service was good and efficient. Must visit place for lunch for vegetarians.

Very nice place to dine in. Only vegetarian option available. Unlimited serving on thali without sharing. All dishes are tasty. Hygiene maintained. Service is superb. You may have to wait 15-20 minutes to sit in dining place. Ambience is good. Washroom are clean and hygienic. The only deficiency is a limited menu.

This place has to be my favourite during my Meghalaya trip. It is a pure veg place led by all women staff. They have unlimited thali options along with jain combos, regular combos and dosas in their menu. The thalis were quite wholesome and tasty. It had rotis, rice along with couple of curries, papad, chutney and dessert. The dosas were quite delicious as well.

This restaurant is one of my favourite restaurants in my Meghalaya trip. The restaurant serves pure vegetarian food along with jain options. The restaurant is led by all women group. We tried their standard thali, special thali and chappati and Rajma combo. The thalis had unlimited refills and the taste was very good . They also had jain combos and thali options. The view from the restaurant was very good .

There is a souvenir shop also where one can buy various tea combinations

Stopped at Orange Roots for lunch. Very nice preparation. They served hot roti with unlimited food except sweet as we took standard meal. Also serves dosas and other food combos. Clean washrooms. Service was prompt. I highly recommend the restaurant for food and other amenities.

It was a nice experience, and we enjoyed breakfast here. We happened upon some South Indian food just in time for our needs. It's always extremely crowded and difficult to locate a place to eat in the evenings. You have to place your order and make your payment at the door before you can enter the restaurant. The majority of the service was provided by women, and they did it quite well. Everything was wonderful and tasty, including the poori, dosa, gulab jamun, and coffee. One of the few locations in Cherrapunji where South Indian cuisine is available.

Love it, amazing, Outstanding. If you are in Sohra, must go here. I am from Gujarat and here we found the same taste of buttermilk. We are in North east since last 5 days and today we ate one of the best food of our trip. We tried chole roti, it was very much delicious. Only female are there in staff, all are so much polite and amazing hospitality. They welcome you, brief u their menu and guide.

Was pleasantly surprised by how great the quality of food was, South Indian dishes did not disappoint. The thali is a classic. There's a souvenir shop where you'll get unique pieces at an affordable rate. Staff is very friendly and cooperative, definitely should check this place out while on the road for sohra!!

Vegetarian heaven! The best hotel in Cherrapunji/Sohra.
The staff is super polite. They've got specific meal times: 8:30 AM breakfast, 11 AM-5 PM thali, and evening à la carte till 7:30 PM. Even with space, they keep it manageable. Limited menu, but it's all about quality. Prices are a tad high, but it's worth it. Great view too! 🏞🍽

Very neat and tidy place, food is priced reasonably, veggie thali in dinner with 10 items , extra butter rotties , fried rice , all items served hot with great service. It's a pure vegetarian restaurant.

No words to describe the ambience, food and the staff. Everything was too good and was a blessing to have it to visit in our Northeast trip. They had very good south food as the owner is a Tamilian and had great taste to serve us.

The staff especially was very supportive and also had great time playing with my kid. The ambience and scenery was pure to watch. Very kind staff and ample parking space. Prices are Lil on the higher side but worth eating.

Located enroute Sohra from Shillong on the Highway.

Its a pure vegetarian restaurant offering south Indian , North Indian cuisine

There's a token counter at the entrance and amount has to be paid in advance for entry to the seating area.

Washroom: neat and clean washrooms

Wash area: 3 separate wash basin outside the seating area

There's also a souvenir shop at the entrance of the restaurant, you can buy stuffs like Fridge magnets, cup and mugs and some local spices like turmeric.

One of the rare pure veg restaurants in Cherrapunji, and in Meghalaya. The plain (non-special) thali was very tasty.,.it's unlimited, non sharing thali only, but the food is initially served in quantities that can actually be finished by one person, so you don't end up wasting food (which is a big problem with unlimited thalis elsewhere). No la carte ordering available.

I was freezing and the yummy piping hot rasam hit the spot. The papad was not excessively oily, the chapati was soft, the kala chana was made khasi style with black sesame taste and was quite authentic. The bhindi fry was 😋. The food was a bit oily, but tasty. The payasam was finger licking good.

It's as if great chefs from all regions of the country had descended on orange roots 😊.

Service was a bit slow even after the lunch rush was over, maybe because the kitchen was at a distance, but the food was always served hot. The tip jar is kept discreetly, so there is no pressure to tip. The mouth freshener is hidden a floor above😊.
The place has a temple like bell to ring if you liked the food and service.🔔

You have to first take a coupon before being served. The menu is quite limited and only Indian veg food is available. South Indian nashta like dosas are available.

Best restaurant in cherapunji especially for vegetarians, menus are little limited but everything is perfectly cooked, tasty and hygienic, service and staff are fast polite always smiling. restaurant is nice clean and well maintained. We found this on the 2nd day of our stay and we kept going there for breakfast lunch and dinner for the next 2 days because other options here are not that great, unless you want to eat non veg.

The food options are absolutely perfect 💯
The atmosphere and service are also great.

The menu will be outside.
See and pay at the counter.
Take a seat. And they will come and take the counterpart from you.

The food is unlimited except Papad, sweet items.
They will ask you if any thing needed, that's a very good sign of hospitality.

The handwash area and toilets are also clean.

At last, you can see there is a bell when you come out from the dining area.

If you like the food service here, definitely ring it. The service staff will be very happy.

The most recommended restaurant who will visit the Cherapunji.
