It is the best waterfall to visit. Carry your clothes if you want to enjoy the beauty of the waterfall and chilled water. It is one of the cleanest waterfalls in India. It will give you positive vibes when you visit there. There are small shops near the waterfall that don't eat there . They don't take care of hygiene. You should consult with your driver for the same. A ticket of 40Rs is required at the entry of the same . You need to cover approx 1-1.5km to go near the waterfall.

Very good waterfall with natural clean pool. Water was crystal clear. Very less crowded. Can spend 1-1.5 hrs here.
The natural pool is shallow, you can take a bath here.
Click good photos as it is less crowded.
Good for solo, family trip.

Located in between the green valleys of Cherrapunjee,Meghalaya, the heaviest rainfall place of the world is dotted with many waterfalls , among them is Mawsawa Falls.
The road to Mawsawa waterfalls can be taken half the way through vehicle and a trek downhill.
The drive took a diversion from Shillong - Sohra main road to the way to Sai-Mika Resort , passing the Dainthlen waterfalls by the Laitduh till the point where the entry and ticket counter to Mawsawa Falls started.
We walked down the green landscape dotted with wildflowers and small brooks to a trekking trail of stony steps through the hill covered with wet flora and fauna.
On the way, wooden markings with natural swimming pool lured us more. The alluring sound of the waterfall could be heard in the distant. Further descending down, the cackling and twittering of people became more distinct and to our surprise we saw a sandy beach with the river passing by.
People frolicked on the beach and the river pool.
Nature surprised us with the beautiful milky water of Mawsawa flowing like strands of white milky garland in front of us.
Let's not litter this beautiful place with plastics.

An offbeat location just adjacent to Sohra or Cherrapunjee, which very few tourists frequent.
Pristine clear waters, from a picturesque waterfall, forming a natural shallow swimming pool within completely natural surroundings.
The approach road from Sohra is not in very good condition and it's best to have a bigger radial wheel to climb.
Accessible from 2 separate directions, on le which has concrete steps built in and another which is a natural staircase.
No food or drinking water is available nearby, so advisable to make own arrangements and carry along.
Very nice place to spend an afternoon.

It's a must go place I'll say. Mawasawa is a very wide waterfall with a great view. I visited here in the middle of September. Water was moderate, so it became e great place to take bath and swim.

Don't miss this place while visiting Cherapunjee. You'll enjoy it. It takes a 5-min trek to go there. But you can choose the slightly longer one, from Shilong-Sohra road.

As of Sept 2023, per head entry fee is 30 rupees. Parking fee is not applicable.

Such a nice place to spend your Weekend days off.
The Ambience is top quality, as well as the flora.
Comparatively, a new place in Meghalaya Tourism.
Roads are normal, not good, not bad also.

The fall, the trek, the place everything is so mesmerizing. The water is crystal clear with a clean blue hue , it's like a natural swimming pool. The entrance to the fall is so amazing .. and there is a huge parking space for your vehicles. You can go with your family, friends or as a couple with no worries.

Beautiful place to be in. Just a friendly reminder to keep the place clean when you visit it and for those who love getting wet, don't forget to bring your swimming gear and sunscreen to sunbathe on the mini beach after your swimming sessions. As for now there is no entry fee but due to littering, I'm sure that they will impose entry fee. Overall it's a pretty beautiful waterfall great for family, friends and even loved ones to enjoy. There is a trekking path as well as a paved path to reach the waterfall.

This is an untouched treasure of Sohra. It has a tricky descend trek route of 10mins but you end up at a place covered with sand. It is a gorgeous waterfall with natural swimming pool formed around it. From the parking area, you might take upto 25mins to reach near to this waterfall. It is for sure a one time visit!!

I visited the fall during Monsoon in the month of July, It was foggy and the visibility was low, so when walking down the stairs I heard the waterfall sound and I was a little scared with the intensity of the waterfall volume sound but when I reached down stairs saw the huge falls due to recent rain, I was just incredible. Every falls I have ever visited, I must say, each has its unique beauty and its calmness.
