Pateng Homestay

It's a very nice and well maintained homestay. Room was well maintained and clean. All winter essentials like blankets, hot water were available. Parking can be a slight issue as they have small parking and it's situated on one way street.

Overall good experience and recommended.

Beautiful homestay in Sohra. Rooms are good along with washrooms which are well maintained. The fares are good as per the homestay.
You'll provided with a fan, all out, geyser and a bathing soap.
It's a homestay so expect it like a homestay only and not like a hotel.
The owner is really kind and cooperative. You can have breakfast and dinner here too and you'll get home cooked food.

Excellent Homestay. The hosts are nice and take care of all the necessaries. The room we got was spacious and comfortable. The homely food was tasty and they served wheat chapatis as well. Google maps may recommend a small pathway as a route just before the location, but one can take the main road from either side. There is a decent parking space. Overall enjoyed the stay and will recommend it for others.

Location is amazing, right when you enter Cherrapunji. Peaceful environment. Rooms were great as per the price and parking was also available. We didn't eat here but they will make food if you ask them.

I was looking for a room, they provided me with a whole house with balcony, roof, parking, they are amazing people, their room was outstanding and worth every penny, a big bathroom with high end toiletries, direct view of valley from both verandah and roof, it was my last minute booking still got it so good was my luck, property very well maintained, i stayed in house in front of main building and that had more better view.

I visited cherrapunji in June 2019. We stayed in Pateng Homestay. I must say Pateng Homestay is the best in cherrapunji why because it's best location wise as it's just near sohra taxi stand and the owner of the Homestay is so so so kind that can't be expressed in words. She treated us as her family member . She served both lunch and breakfast and what an amazing food she cooks it's so tasty and yummy. We had mix veg Curry and chicken curry in dinner and alu paratha in breakfast. 2 days we had this and the final bill for food is only 384rs. We are impressed with the pricing. The owner also take you to the sohra taxi stand to get shared taxi to either Shillong or double decker living root bridge whichever you want to go. She is hospitable and very much helpful. The room is so beautiful and well maintained. This Homestay is just 30 meters away from sohra taxi stand so you won't face any problem for going anywhere. I must say you should try this Homestay. I can bet you will never regret.

The place is quite clean and homey. And very near to sora bazaar only 1 minute walk. You should eat dinner here you will not regret because it's too delicious.. when you stay here ask for Augustine ( local can driver) who is very friendly for your local sightseeing... The host here are very helpful as well, we loved our stay here...❤❤

I stayed here along with my mother on my Meghalaya road trip in January 2020. The property is quite big and very old but maintained very well. They have three rooms one one which id double bed and the other two are triple bedrooms. The owner has maintained the rooms very well.Full marks for cleanliness.Rooms are spotless and very comfortable. Home stay's courtyard provided an excellent view of Cherrapunji and the mountains surrounding it. They charge 1500 for triple bedrooms and 1000 for double bed rooms.They also provided me a room heater for no extra charge. Parking is available in another property adjacent to the home stay. Overall a comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

best place to stay if you are visiting Cherrapunji. Food cooked by aunty is best of all what you will find there. Such a nice lady and cooperative. You will get multiple room options available. Even though size may seems to smaller but hygiene is maintained. I will surely stay there when I will visit next time.

Very neat and clean home stay located at Sohra. We booked 3 rooms in which 2 rooms were in ground floor and 1 room was in top floor. Except 1 room, other rooms were quite specious and can be used for 3 person as well. Food was reasonable and very tasty. This home stay is near to the market area. Mrs Phanbuh is the home owner and she is very nice person.

Loved the place. They are one one of the sweetest people we ever met. And the homestay is clean, cosy and well maintained. The food cooked is super delicious as well. It also is very very budget friendly. Totally recommend this place.

This place is very comfortable, cozy and compact. Has all basic amenities. Parking available. A nice beautiful dining room with lovely cutleries. Food is very good. Service very good. It gives a nice view of the surrounding. Cost very reasonable. And above all the Host is so cordial, warm and friendly, offering amazing hospitality...! We were so blessed during our stay...!

i have been to Cherrapunji‎ twice and stayed there. its The best place to stay and the food, i love the wooden room, the decoration and specially The Food is just Awesome, they will just ask what you want to eat and the food is ready, whatever you eat from chicken to pork, rice to paratha you will say .. ohh!!! what a food, i love this home stay a lot, and going to visit when ever i get a chance to.. ** your Cherrapunji‎ trip is incomplete if u do not visit them**

Excellent location, clean facilities and delicious homely food. The owner id also very helpful and resourceful. She helped us clarifying our travel plans and even pointed us towards some lesser known waterfalls which turned out to he marvelous. All in all great experience.

The rooms and bathrooms are really neat and tidy. The market is nearby. Most of the tourist spots are no less than 5kms from the stay. The lady is very helpful and provides privacy too.
