Costcutter

This store is not at all local to me but it's in the direction of a gym I frequent. I have been going there about once a week since last Spring and I go because it is an absolute pleasure to be served by the staff. I don't know their names but they are always super friendly, super helpful and super polite. I thoroughly recommend visiting them

Super friendly staff, always happy to chat and helpful. Good range of fresh, chilled and frozen foods and a costa machine to boot!! Parking outside possible too…

I like his shop

Most of the items in store did not have have prices shown. I picked three items in the reduced to clear section and asked if the cashier would mind showing me what they cost since they had no price shown.

They were still a good bit more than other stores, so I said no thanks and put them back where I took them (and as someone who has worked retail, that's better than many). I looked around and found some wafers, again, no price, so I asked if the cashier would mind telling me the price.

He told me it was 1.99, and I just went oh okay. He then very rudely went "how much money you got mate?" (Which I find to be a very odd question). I explained that it's not about how much money I have, I have money, but I am not going to buy something if I think it's expensive. Since he seemed very hostile I told him I was just going to go home now. He then very rudely went "put it back then!" I told him that I'm going to, I got 10 steps from where I took it and he went "actually, give it to me, I'll put it back"

It was then I realised that he thought I was stealing (which is ironic since I am a retail security guard, I stop shoplifters for a living). I get that a small store like this probably get a lot of people stealing, but that's no excuse to be extremely rude and hostile when I am simply asking for the price on something that has none.

I bought pitta bread from here that was well within its sell by date. Alot of the bread had mouldy patches. They also don't take Scottish notes.
