Such a hidden gem for shoppers at the heart of Holloway!
Always been a favourite department store of mine for over 20 years since I first discovered it. A lot has changed in the area in terms of the shops. There used to be an M&S and Burger King few shops away and I am glad to see James Selby's, a family run department store stood the test of time. If you have a look of their history at their website, founded in 1845, it survived the Great Depression and WWII. Loving the old school style, very nostalgic.

Upmarket brands (Seasalt, Topshop, Barbour, Fred Perry, Hobbs, Whistles, Superdry, Mango, Faith, Warehouse, Apricot, Valentino bags) without the London price tag. I visit every fortnight just to check out their regular sale, especially the kitchen department for their Le Creuset range and tableware items. Their bedding section has a huge selection too (Sheridan, Christy, Laura Ashley, Orla Kiely). I hope the bring back their Lotta Jansdotter duvet covers which I absolutely love! There is also a good selection of perfume and cosmetics counters (Estee Lauder, Clarins, L'Occitane, Dior, Benefit, Lancome, Clinique, Chanel, Molton Brown) at the ground floor..

Overall, it's a great place to do shopping. There are a lot of variety you can buy there without the need of going to the crowded and busy West End.

Completely underrated department store. Great selection of high quality brands of clothing and a great place for last minute gifts! A real gem. Other reviews suggesting the place is 'expensive' are not true - this is a quality department store so you pay a little more.

Selby is a great shop. Where else can you get things like quality tights, cosmetics and a couple of high street brands under one roof. I love cycling there with my teenage daughter, without having to go into town. The sales people are always friendly and knowledgeable.

Visited Nero inside Selbys today. A shout out for the staff who were super friendly and make a great cappuccino.

Went into buy a perfume and Anna was incredibly helpful. She talked me through many different options until I finally settled on one. Thank you so much Anna!

I love Selby's. A nice, two floor department store. Their sales are great too, great bargains. I would miss it if it ever closed down, like so many stores are. If you've never visited the store, I highly recommend it. Best store in Holloway Road by far.

Selbys is great got a designer selection which is good there was a sale on when I was last there gonna be going back hopefully the sale is still on good prices

Love NV nail bar, been going to them for years, so glad I spotted them again the window of selbys, loved seeing them work as I walked past
As they have recently moved out of the window I think this is a bad move as I feel that they belonged in the window and brang a different feel and always looked forward to seeing them as I walked past the shop

This place is a hidden gem for shoppers. What a great department store full of international and local brands without the London high street price tag. They have regular sales so well worth checking in every now and then. They have a cafe Nero upstairs as well when you’re looking for a well deserved coffee break!

Always clean and tidy in this store. Conveniently have a cafe Nero upstairs too. There are toilets available on 1st floor. This store sells a range of cosmetics, clothing and homeware 😀

It’s a little oasis on the busy Holloway Road. Has lots of great beauty products and upmarket high street clothes brands. Like the nail salon and the brow bar. Loads of homeware products upstairs. Love that it’s dog friendly too.

I have shopped in Selbys for years. I love the variety and I grt mu eyes and nails done there. Friendly staff

has a nice cafe Nero on upstairs 👌.

Gem on Holloway road! You can get EVERYTHING you need there. I've bought kids toys, bedding, stuff for the kitchen, last minute birthday gifts and strapless bras. Loads of concessions of all the major retail brands.

My wife and I went to james selbys Holloway at 1:30 pm today, we wanted to choose air fryer , we had to choose between few in which we didn’t know which is the best fryer , TARA came forward to help us.

TARA was professional, friendly, helpful, extraordinary, knowledgeable and explained thoroughly every single detail about the fryer

Selbys has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very helpful. Today a member of staff opened up a till as soon as they noticed a queue building up. There is a good selection of clothing on the ground floor, including from a range of well known brands, and homeware on the first.

Like a small John Lewis. We were particularly impressed by the kitchenware section which was large, well presented and reasonably priced. Nice to support a long-established local department store too - feels like a bit of a blast from the past.
