Just a perfect wedding thank you all so much. Becky was great with communication, I stayed in one if the cottages behind and had the loveliest couple of nights there before the wedding and that was great too, so peaceful. Thank you everyone for making our day so special X

What an amazing wedding venue. Since our wedding a few weeks ago, all of our friends and family still comment on how unique and beautiful the lost village of dode is. The medieval church has been restored faithfuly and with obvious love and attention to detail.
The people who manage, more accurately care for, dode feel like such a tight-nit group. Becky helped us plan everything from the very first time we met, Paul was exceptionally supportive on our special day and went above and beyond to help make the day perfect. I couldn't recommend this place enough, the location, the building and the people, all 10/10. Thanks Dode!

Dode is a truly special place! Only a few miles from Gravesend, it lies up a quiet track and is nestled in the most peaceful little valley. The church building itself is ancient and has a wonderful energy inside. This may well be due to the 7 ley lines that cross under the altar but it is also due to the love and energy that has been poured into it by Doug, Becky and their team, as they have renovated it and brought it back to life. They have even created their own barrow behind the stone circle where ashes can be laid to rest. I can think of no better setting for an intimate ceremony to celebrate any life event, be it a wedding, a handfasting, a naming or a funeral.

My partner, our little boy and I went for a visit to The Lost Village of Dode today. We met with Graham. He was a bit busy as there was a wedding prior to us arriving. He allowed us to have a look around inside the church and the garden. What a lovely gentleman! I'll definitely be having my wedding or reception there 😊
Thank you so much, Graham.

After searching high and low for a venue for a smaller intimate wedding we stumbled across Dode. I contacted Becky who was so helpful with all the information we needed and booked a visit. We visited and instantly knew this was the right place for us to get married, Paul showed us around and he was great. From booking with Becky to the day she was so helpful with any questions we had. On the day we had Graham as our host and he made the day go swimmingly so helpful and attentive we didn’t worry about a thing it was all under control. Paul did our hand fasting ceremony which everyone thought was a great extra touch. Dode is such a special place to get married we had the best time we could have wished for. Thank you to all at Dode for making our day so special.

We can thoroughly recommend the full package at Dode.
Becky, Doug and the team were efficient and super helpful when planning and orchestrating our wedding. The recommended suppliers:
Flying Pig Kitchen
Matt James photography
Moody Blooms and
The Kent Owl Academy that work with them made the day beautifully seamless, each adding their unique expertise to the occasion.
The cottages made for a perfect stay on Thursday night with our friends and then for the bridal party the night before.
The Dode setting really is magical, all of our guests were blown away with the setting - such a special and memorable place. We will definitely be back, either for the renewing of our vows in a year and a day or to simply stay in the cottages and soak up the atmosphere and memories.
A quote from one of our guests, 'You can look at the photos online, but it doesn't compare to the way Dode makes you feel when you are there.'✨
Thank you for surpassing our expectations.

What a fabulous place; we set out from home on a walk determined to find The Lost Village of Dode, I didn't really know what to expect as I hadn't Googled it, so when we found it and it happened to be open for appointments, we got talking to the Celebrant Paul and he invited us in for a look in between appointments. Oh my goodness, the emotion took over, what a truly spiritual place, it captured me, so thank you to the kindness of the Celebrant for letting us in and the lady for going to get us a little booklet on Dode. If we hadn't gone on that day we never would have seen the beauty inside and I would never have known what a truly amazing place it was, which then led me to find Simon Pollard from Simple Life Ltd who runs a '5 Senses Walk' from Dode, which I went on today. Funny how life takes you in a direction at a time when I most needed help and support. A thank you to Paul 'the Keeper' who has made Dode what it is today, simply amazing.

Dode were fantastic throughout this year and on the magical day itself, helping to give us the day we had always dreamed of.They have a super friendly team and were really accommodating when we had to rearrange it three or four times! They have very kindly facilitated us to split our day in two, so we will be having the handfasting ceremony next year on our first wedding anniversary where we can celebrate with all of our friends (hopefully).

The location is as incredible in real life as it is in the pictures, the building creates a very personal and intimate feel. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone getting married.
Thank you everyone!

I have photographed at Dode on many many occasions and have only ever seen an extensive attention to detail to make the day as joyful an event as possible from every member of staff at Dode.
The location is unique and beautiful, there are a limited number of guest spaces therefore if it tends to be very close and unique celebrations tailored to the day, I will say however if you are planning a large evening reception you can always take that to a different location after the wedding but many of the weddings I have shot here tend to keep the gathering small to stay at Dode for the duration of the day.
To myself as a photographer, though an intimate location, I never tire of shooting here, it simply takes my breath away every time.
As a matter of fact I remember the first time I shot here, I went home and asked my wife to marry me again just so we could use the location, my wife at the time thought I had been up to no good but once I showed here the photos she totally understood my suggestion.
To anyone considering getting married here if it is an intimate, honest and heartfelt celebration of love in a 900 year old church with the opportunity of hand fasting and rings delivered by an owl then Dode will defiantly be your location just talk to the team at Dode (and yes I am pleased to say I am one of the team now as the recommended photographer for Dode) and you will find everyone only too pleased to help in any way they can.

We got married here on the 06.08.21 and it was the most prefect day. The lost village of dode is a stunning place, We wouldn't of changed a thing. Our guests are still talking about what a beautiful day it was. Graham our host was a delight from start to finish, nothing was too much, although the children may have sent him a little grey at times haha. Becky answered all our hundreds of emails and never complain once. From the moment I arrived to walk down to get married, right until the end when we stayed in one of the beautiful cottages on site everything run smoothly. Our dog was allowed to attend and stay over. The church has an amazing spiritual feel to it, kind of magical. I think that all thats left to say is a huge thank you to everyone involved and we hope to come back and visit soon.

Well what can we say? We have just had one of the best days of our life. Every single thing that happened was perfect. Graham and Ray were great all the way through the day. Graham I especially want to single out for just making us and everyone feel at home and relaxed the whole time we were there. The dode is wonderful and all of our guest were so stunned by just how beautiful it was. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for letting us use your amazing place. It's now a very special place to us too.

We got married at the Lost Village of Dode in August 2021. We had to re-arrange our wedding twice because of COVID, and everyone at Dode was so professional. We had heard horror stories from couples who had had to cancel their weddings, but the team at Dode made sure that everything was changed seamlessly. The wedding day was perfect. We had a rehearsal with Becky a couple of days before so we knew exactly what we were doing, and then Graham was amazing on the day, making sure that everything ran smoothly. The venue is stunning, and all of the suppliers were used were fantastic - The Flying Pig Kitchen, Moody Blooms and Matt James Photography. Another great thing about Dode is that the venue is animal-friendly so we were able to bring our dog Stanley along to celebrate with us.

Totally atmospheric and full of Old English charm. I visited with a dear friend for the Christmas carols concert. The staff provided a car to get to the chapel from the car park as the rain was torrential! Such a thoughtful touch. Mulled wine and treats to share, it was one of the highlights of my Christmas season. Highly recommend

Our Handfasting was amazing and magical. Dode were extremely helpful and accommodating, while our celebrant Paul spoke some beautiful words and made us feel special while he bound our hands together. We could not be happier with the excellent people and the beautiful venue!

A stunning venue for Intimate weddings and events would also be great for Intimate funerals and wakes. It's honestly a special place and I've been lucky enough to decorate it 3 times now!

What a wonderful place for a wedding! I attended a wedding here recently and it’s a great place for a smaller wedding for those who want a more rustic feel and like to soak up the beautiful countryside that surrounds the location. There also some great looking cottages that can be booked along with the deconsecrated church.

We recently had our wedding at Dode and the whole experience from start time finish was fantastic. Becky was on hand to answer any questions and book us in and lovely Graham was there on the day to ensure things ran smoothly. The venue itself is very small but perfect for an intimate and no frills wedding - exactly what we wanted. We got the package option and Flying Pig kitchen as our caterers were ASTOUNDING. Highly recommend this beautiful little venue if you are looking for a small, unique and personal experience.
