Staff were so friendly, from front of house, our waitress to the owner and the dog! 😂 our food was absolutely fantastic, the barn with the dj is a great end to the night. Our cab firm let us down and we got stuck there for an extra 1/2 hour and the staff were all so lovely and looked after us. We thank you so much for a great Xmas/birthday night! Yummy and reasonably priced cocktails too. We will be back x

Amazing food, service and a really lovely atmosphere. We were lucky with the weather and got to enjoy seating outside - music was a fab touch! Shame the staff here have moved on from the pub that was local to me before, but I’m really glad I found the moat as I missed the food!!

The staff & management at The Moat made sure this evening was one not to forget.

So after not visiting this pub for some time, today when we did we where pleasantly surprised to find it’s completely different than it used to be….. we are talking years here!

Firstly we where created by a super friendly barman, who advised us that it we wanted to eat in the garden then that was fine just had to order at the bar…. No problem for us.

We ordered two drinks and grabbed a menu and proceeded to go find a table in the garden.

The garden was amazing, lots of seats nice igloo style seating and plenty of grass! We ordered mussels and caesar salad, when they came out they where amazing…. Absolutely delicious 🤤

We will definitely be returning and I urge anyone reading this review to go and try for yourself

Staff are plentiful and friendly, good size menu with plenty to choose from, quantity and quality of food was very good indeed and reasonably priced for the portion size. Plenty of tables and plenty of parking, we visited on a Tuesday, I booked a table and was pleased that I had as it was very busy. Car reg needs to be registered on entry so as not to get a fine! Easy to get to just off M20/M26

Extremely lovely New Year's Day lunch. Our first time attending for over a decade and it's a significant improvement compared to how it used to be. Food was good quality and plentiful, service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere and decor was really lovely and cozy. Although the restaurant was very busy, the tables have been spaced out nicely so you don't feel cramped and they have enough staff on duty to accommodate everyone.

All in all, a very nice dining experience and we'll certainly be returning!

Stopped by for lunch on a whim and what a fantastic place. The restaurant itself is lovely, spacious and warm. The staff are so very friendly and polite, nothing was an issue for them at all incredibly accommodating. I had the Moat burger with chips and I can safely say it was the best I’ve ever had. My partner had the Brie bacon ciabatta which she thoroughly enjoyed too. Very reasonably priced as well. Couldn’t recommend more.

Very nice gastro pub near brands hatch. The venue had perfected the basics such as lighting, décoré, table spaces etc. It was very comfortable.
The staff were great and added to the relaxing atmosphere.

The menu was straight forward and offered a decent selection of people pleasers.

All of the food arrived in good time, and everyone’s meals were tasty.

All in all, I’ll make this a ‘go to’ spot when I visit the race track next.

My son and daughter-in-law treated me to a our very 1st visit to The Moat.
All-in-all our experience was absolute perfection and we're really looking forward to returning very soon, in fact we've already made our next reservation! 😀

I’ve been coming here over the years whenever I’ve visited England. They added a whole lot more seating in the back garden including a couple of gazebos that you can book. Food was delicious. Staff was super friendly and helpful. They even have blankets that you can borrow when it gets chilly.

I used to come here for drinks years ago and it was okay then but now it seems to have improved markedly. The food, the service and the prices are all very good and my curried parsnip soup starter and fish n chips main were both excellent. Highly recommended!

I can highly recommend The Moat restaurant, visited on a Friday evening and was immediately welcomed by the staff (you need to put your car registration into the computer when you arrive) and shown to our pre booked table. Drinks were ordered straight away. We browsed the menu but struggled to decide as all the dishes were very appealing, we definitely wasn't rushed into making a decision on what we'd be ordering.
I decided on the scotch egg to start with and it was probably the best scotch egg I've ever had, absolutely delicious! My date chose the parsnip soup and that was also delicious.
Main courses we had The Moat burger and the rib of beef, again both dishes were very tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed them.
The chosen desserts were the crumble with ice cream and the lemon meringue pie, again, delicious!
The waiting staff were lovely and not over the top like in some restaurants.
The décor and layout was very nice & the table for 2 we sat at was large enough and it didn't feel cluttered with the jug of water, drink glasses, the candle and the plates.
Nice friendly atmosphere with groups of friends, couples and some families out for the evening. Overall a very pleasant place to go for dinner.
I'll definitely visit The Moat again at some point. 10/10.

Wow, what a place, massive space. Friendly professional welcome. Great beer selection. Food was on point. Couldn't fault the place

This place has recently been renovated and refurbished and walking in this was clearly evident. It is the perfect place to go with family and friends and on top of this it is a dog friendly venue.

The food was lovely with all the roast dinners cooked to perfection and in particular the tuna steak burger was amazing ! The service was great with Andre (front of house) being polite and friendly.

The only thing I would suggest is if the cocktail and food menus be expanded but was impressed and will be returning!

Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Really nice food and a great selection of pubs. Lovely look inside with a fireplace and candles. Remember to put your numberplate in for parking otherwise you will be fined. Getting out of the carpark and onto the main road can be dangerous so I recommend only turning left.

We had our wedding at The Moat on Saturday 9th September. We cannot fault the service, food, atmosphere & attentive staff. The venue was ideal for everything we wanted and we're complimented by many guests.

I visited THE MOAT today Wednesday 13/7/22 with my wife, Mother-in-law, and we all left happily in memory with a first class hospitable experience. The staff and manager I will praise first and foremost for their very friendly, warm, charm, kind service. The Inn I have visited before in the past- my memories always a good one; but this Inn with the present day management have taken 'THE MOAT' to a new and higher level. The Inn, still retains its original historic charm. But today has been upgraded and fully modified to the finest decor, floor table chair layout 'SO IMPRESSIVELY SPACIOUS'. Delighted also to see the Kent links and charm of many wall photos embrace and enchant the visitor. In fact, this Inn is amongst the top best on my list in Kent..... A warm evening visit in its large attractive flowery back garden with the perfect sheltered sun shades over the seating and tables are waiting and ideal for all couples, family and groups of friends to enjoy outside. The food remarkable..BEST EVER LAMB SHANK IVE EATEN TO MY MEMORY. I introduce the Penshurst lamb shank.🍖 We visited around 4pm and stayed for at least two enjoyable hours. Definately will return...the Inn itself impressive, the staff wonderful, the food great...I look forward to more on the menu in future. Rating as a top Inn alone - A1, 10/10. All the best, Chris.👍

Popped in yesterday on the off chance of getting a table. Never been there before but have always wanted to give it a try. Luckily we managed to get a table and have to say that I'm glad we did. Food was amazing. Service was great and the place just had a nice buzz about it. We will be definitely returning but this time we will book in advance.

Amazing atmosphere, the candles made it the perfect place for date night. The food was amazing, definitely taste like its all made in house (blue cheese sause with chicken wings AMAZING) The service was on point
1st place in a long time i couldn't complain about even if i was nit picking
100% recommend, i will be going back next time in the area.
