Without doubt one of the best Pie and Mash in London. Pies are crammed full of fresh meat and liquor is top notch. Always served with a smile. Love it here.

i travelled through half of london to eat at this lovely establishment and it was 100% worth it! lady at the counter was friendly and sweet to us, even warning me about bones in eels so that i dont choke :) (she did offer to do cpr in case that happens tho) food was simple but just lovely, the eels are so delicate that they melt in your mouth and they pair amazingly with liquor, which is parsley sauce. if you are a fan of stronger flavours, however, make sure to ask for chilli vinegar 🌶 overall, great place with history and definitely a highlight of my trip to london

Quality place, highly recommend. As you can see, the pies were completely gone after I saw them! The staff were extremely friendly too. Delicious and 10/10.

Food is pie n mash and by far the most delicious I’ve ever tried
The meat in the pie was so tender.
Mash was so creamy
I’ve been a customer here for around 15 years and it’s almost a tradition to go there. The service is strait forward. The food is on points. The decor has stayed in the 1950 but that’s ok because the prices reflect this

Had a great experience here, with Charlotte being an amazing host. As it was my first time to London, I wanted to visit F Cooke after seeing it on YouTube. The store was quiet as I came in right after it opened, so Charlotte sat down with me while I ate and shared the history of the restaurant and the area. It was a great conversation

The food was simple and very tasty. I got a pie and mash & jellied eels and finished it all along with a coffee. What a great experience!

I’ll be back someday!

It was my partner’s dream to come here after watching their video on vice food. We were both very excited to give the pie and mash a try, having never trying mash and pie together. Great tasting pie and sauce. The whole combination was delicious. We really wanted to meet Mr Cooke, however he was not in that day. Hopefully we can return one day and meet him. This restaurant is further away from the central area, but definitely worth visiting.

Went here after a big night out and was delighted with the food. Am vegan and the vegan pie mash didn't disappoint. Beautifully topped off with liquor and tasted incredible. My friend had double meat pie and loved it as well. Will definitely be back again. Only cost me £6 for the pie mash and a Coke zero

My favourite pie and mash shop in London. It is important to note that the liquor here is the best you will find anywhere, because it has a higher parsley content than somewhere like Goddard's. My wife is a vegetarian and we regularly call ahead to allow them time to prepare the vegetarian pie. Jolly good blokes and ladies who run this establishment who always make you feel welcome, and the interior is wonderfully traditional which is refreshing. You can fill your tank without breaking the bank.

Me and the wife went there on Saturday 20th of April and wow, we were served by Charlotte and her son, the service was professional and we found Charlotte really lovely and customer focused, the pies were stuffed full of tastey filling and the Pastry was classic and yummy, the mash was just right and the liquor was just yes, I absolutely recommened going here for pie and mash, very traditional. I'll be going back this week.

I’d been meaning to get to a pie and mash shop in London and real authentic taste of London. After doing some research at New Southgate Cemetery around 16:15, I realised that this place shuts at 17:00 and faced a mad dash for pie and mash.

I wasn’t disappointed, arrived about 16:30, there were two people in there but one person I believed may have been the owner. I ordered large pie and mash with liqueur, not knowing what ‘liqueur’ was, but ordering it anyway. Quite simply, it was lovely, I’m not a big mash fan but it was beautifully done and the pie was so tasty, combined with the liqueur sauce it was a hearty and fulfilling meal. I even went as far as sending photos to my mate and Mum. The mate who claims to be a Londoner, had know idea what it was, so clearly not a real Londoner !

Pleasant atmosphere listening to the lady behind the counter and chap, who I may have believed to be the owner, talking shop and conversing back and forth with cockney accents that you could have rolled up and beaten someone over the head with.

I only spent half an hour but if I’m ever down that way I’d like to return and definitely recommend. As I left and said goodbye the chap said, “See you later son, mind how you go”, which tickled me.

It’s the London I’ve always wanted to experience and a perfect end to a day and well worth a mad dash from New Southgate Cemetery !

Travelled halfway across the world for this. Had a 2-week vacation in London and by far this was the best meal I had here. Hands down.

Met with the owner, Mr. Joe Cooke. The most pleasant man I have met in the whole of London.

Till this day after this wonderful meal, I still have no idea how gently he was holding those pies (a little inside joke for ya, https://youtu.be/ogfyJICT9aI?feature=shared). God bless pie, mash and parsley liquor. God bless jellied eels. God bless Joe.

May this establishment last for the next hundred years and more.

(To best enjoy this meal, I recommend getting the large pie and mash with parsley liquor, with a side of jellied eels with a cold can of coke)

With all these allergies, now I find eating out, the food can often taste like cardboard, because flavour is just lacking. However, with a little salt, pepper, and 🌶 vinegar, I was good to go. Lovely service.
