The Capon Tree Town House

Stayed one night in the Capon Tree with partner and doggo. Room was lovely, spotlessly clean, bed comfy and and had a cracking wee breakfast hamper waiting for us in the fridge.

Parents were staying at nearby campsite and we arranged to meet at the Capon Tree for dinner to celebrate Dad's birthday. So glad we did as our meal/experience was absolutely amazing! We were seated in the bar area, as we had the pup, and it was beautiful. The food was tremendous, with no complaints even from the fussy eaters in our group. The owner gifted a bottle of Prosecco to help us celebrate, which was a lovely touch. The service was outstanding and it was such a relaxed, happy environment. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. A little gem! Thank you 💛

What a delight to find food this good.

It's taken us far too long to make it to the Capon Tree, we'll be returning much sooner for our second visit.

Spent 1 night here and the staff were extremely friendly and the room was perfect. It felt very cosy and comfortable, and there was a lovely selection of food and drink to choose from. Excellent walks in the area, too.

We ate in the restaurant and highly recommend it. The food was excellent and the service was first class and fast, despite them being very busy. The bar and restaurant are comfortable and attractive, and located in the centre of Jedburgh.

We are so happy to have a decent restaraunt in Jedburgh. The new owners have updated the decor and the chef is fantastic. The menu is good and very reasonably priced. The service and standards are lovely. We would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys fine dining.

Beautiful place, room was really lovely, very comfortable and clean. We loved the breakfast basket it was better than having a full English breakfast. Nice to have a pod coffee machine. Only had drinks in the bar but the owner and staff were very friendly. Highly recommended.

Classy establishment with sensible prices. Bar was rammed - great cocktails.

Dining room was fancy and the Sommelier outstanding. The food was extremely good but truffle oil on the chips didn't go well with the cod and minty peas. Good wine choices.

Fabulous food, excellent and quick service. We were a party of 10, enjoyed a 3 course selection, all in less than 2.5 hours. Highly recommended!

Went for drinks and the following evening, a meal. Contemporary decor, intimate bar area and restaurant. Standard of dishes, presentation and service excellent. Highly recommended.

Where indeed is the Michelin star or at the least a Bib Gourmand. The food at the Capon Tree is excellent - outstanding. The cooking is superb and the presentation delightful. Shame the Good Food Guide has gone - the Capon Tree would rate highly. Well done the chef.

Fine dining with friendly staff and an upscale ambiance. The staff were very friendly and the food was good. We had several starters and decided to split a main dish, but they brought it almost as two separate portions, each with all the special little side garnishes and lovely presentation. We had a great experience.

Stayed 1 night in superior room which was very comfortable and while they do not do cooked breakfast, provided an ideal continental breakfast basket. Had a first-class meal in their fine dining restaurant where they use the best of local ingredients, cooked and presented to very high standard.

A lovely town house offering accomodation and food, only 4 rooms but each one is uniquely furnished to a high standard. The retaurant is small but well worth a visit, food is great and Alisdair and his staff are of the highest standard. A little gem in Jedburgh.

Where's the Michelin star? The food here is first class and there's an excellent and unusual wine list curated by the restaurants own very knowledgeable sommelier, whose recommendations for food pairing are very well worth listening to. And they have well presented rooms upstairs so that couples may retire after a good meal with no arguments over who's driving. We'll certainly be visiting the Capon Tree again.

Was absolutely delighted to find our town has this absolute gem. Great food, high end vibes in the restaurant (but not crazy prices at all) and then also a more relaxed bar next door for pre/post drinks. Perfect night out.

The Capon Tree has been a pleasure to stay at, I highly recommend staying, eating and drinking here! The owners are wonderful and warm hearted. The owner is a chef and has an excellent menu. I love that they support local in multiple areas such as food, liquor and craft beer! I will truly miss this place!!!
