Lovley country park to walk, run or stroll and be in peace with nature. Cafe is great and has a fab selection of food and drink. Great play park for toddlers and young children based on dinosaurs. I come here everyday I'm off to walk my dogs and run .

We had a great afternoon at Southwater County Park with the 8th Burgess Hill cubs. We built rafts and went out on the water. Great location. Excellent facilities. Fun for all the family.

Lovely place to go for families. The play area is really big and good for all ages and you can walk round to the 'beach' and have a swim in the lake or walk around the lake to the cafe for a pit stop. Great day out.

Love this park. Great cafe with lovely cakes, sandwiches and pastries. Plus Kelly's ice cream in great flavours... my kids always go for bubblegum! Excellent dinosaur themed playground with loads of play equipment to use. Nice surfaced paths which are ideal for scooting. Small lake as well which you can hire canoes and paddle boards etc for in the summer season. Also a small gravel beach which you can paddle in the water. Signs say no swimming put most kids were completely in the water. A good place to spend a few hours with kids.

We love visiting here, through out all seasons there is something beautiful to see/hear here.

Our child loves the play park which is maintained and kept really well, just like the grounds you walk along.

We especially love it here for how well looked after the wild life is.
Visiting anywhere in spring brings loads of opportunities to be able to see bird nest being built, baby offsprings and loads of flowers beginning to bloom.
Sometimes us humans can be detrimental to the growth of others.
Visiting here you can see how they protect the swans and other birds in their nesting phase by closing off a foot path that leads right beside the amazing nest they have spent ages putting together. ♥

They have also put notes around the place saying how its starting to change some layouts to help those with prams or wheel chair users, we are currently pushing a pram around and have found the park and walk paths accessible from all directions.

Mud paths that are great trails for bike riders, we have cycled here a few time and it's always a job with the ups and downs around the park.

Cafe is love with staff really available to take your request.

A place to visit for sure.

We haven't had the opportunity to try the water sports that they offer yet, I'm sure when the baby is older we will be back to try it.

The dinosaur park is amazing, a lot of parks have lost the touch of nature and all things that help out little ones growth, with plastics and mental being the most popular option in cities its amazing to see such huge wooden structures beautifully places around filling up the park with trails at loads of different levels.
Ropes to climb and great set of baby swings to tirer swings...
And not to forget the great volcano in the middle, who doesn't love a wall to climb up and down.

I have passed this park so many times but never had a walk around it, I must say it's a nice place especially on a sunny day, we just had a stroll round the lake, the kids park looks a fun place to take the grandkids, it has a small gravel beach, boat and SUP board hire etc and a cafe. Parking is not free but only cost us a pound because we were not intending to stay long this time but will on our next visit now we know what it's like.

Great little park with cafe, boats, kayaks, adventure playground, skate park and nice little beach.
Plenty of places to explore around the lake and also have a picnic. Cafe serves a wide range of stuff and there is also BBQ stands by the beach too.
Car parking is easy and plenty of spaces. 1 hour for £1.

Lovely country park with lake, can hire watersports equipment. Paddling beach slots available and not overcrowded. Visitor centre and cafe friendly with good food selection. There are picnic tables dotted all over the park so lots of good places to stop for a picnic. Dinosaur Isle playpark is brilliant, so many fun things for the kids to do. Parking is reasonable and can be paid on apps like Ringo too. A great day out.

Wow, wow, wow!! What an amazing place!! Brick tables to put your portable BBQs on. The lake is so clean you can see the fish below while you swim. Canoeing and boats. Amazing park for the children to play. Lovely little café but again take a BBQ or picnic and just get an ice-cream for the children. Locals walk round and clean the park daily. Absolutely love this place!! It a MUST xx

What a great place for kids! Great walk around the woods to explore & climb trees as well as being dog friendly too! Amazing dinosaur themed play park for children, even if the children don't like dinosaurs the play area is fantastic. There's a lake where you can hire kayak or paddleboard and go on the lake. So much to do, take a picnic and make a day of it

We stopped here on way to holiday, parked in the car park between cafe and play park. We headed for something to eat first at the cafe, which was reasonbly priced, although on a busy day I can imagine it runs short of space... toilets also available just outside.

We then headed back up the path to the play park which was actually very good - themed round the dinosaurs, and kids can follow the footprints along the way. We would have prob stayed longer had it not rained!

Most of the paths are paved, but there is the odd wet / muddy patch dependsnt on weather and car park!

We visited the park for the dinosaur playground and we were not disappointed. The playground itself has things for kids of all ages and they all seemed to enjoy the dinosaur theming. The walk around the lake is also very pleasant and whilst we visited during the covid pandemic, the cafe still had a lovely selection of treats and drinks, which satisfies the sweet toothed.

A beautiful day out with the family. We arrived fairly late in the day (due to hoping the weather would improve, which it did!!) so my only negative would be that I wish we were there for longer!! Would definitely recommend.
Only points to consider-
The cafe is quite far from the play area in terms of getting lunch. So if you wanted to eat lunch and play, I recommend bringing a picnic, or grabbing bits from the café on your way in.
Toilets are a bit of a walk from the play area too, so If you've got small kids I'd recommend popping in before you go into the play park.

Lovely park for a walk, great playground for the kids. The dinosaur playground has been renovated in the last few years and the kids love it.You can BBQ by the lakefront, and there is also a lovely little cafe at one end. Parking is reasonable.

Excellent place to explore with beautiful scenery. Lots to find out, whatever age group you are you'll be relaxed, rested or perhaps exhausted in the good way. Even if you planning a family day out with the little ones like we did, they will be happy to find a bouncy suprise ( subject to good weather)next to excellent diner which is worth spending money
