We spent a couple of hours at the Harestanes Playground and then decided to head for lunch with our two kids, 4 and 7 years. Warm welcome from the moment we arrived. Nice selection of gifts and other items by the entrance. All vegetarian dishes and child friendly. Free parking on site and a fantastic inclusive playground next door amble outdoor seating too.

Outstanding food, great atmosphere. Genuinely one of the tastiest lunches I've had in ages. I had the savoury waffle, my partner the soup of the day (red pepper, lentil and chickpea), and we shared a banoffee biscoff sweet waffle. Beautiful and cosy interior too. 100% will be back again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here today.
Everything on the menu sounded amazing. Our food was fresh and really tasty, and arrived quickly. The girls who served us were lovely too. Its a great wee spot! 😊

What a find, a lovely friendly atmosphere and a huge log burner to keep us warm at this time of year. One of the best coffees I've had in the Borders and a great soup and stuffed pitta for a very reasonable price. My partner had a simply enormous pile of lovely gluten free waffles. It's a great location as there any number of walks from the car park at Harestanes and this comes as welcome reward at the end.

Absolutely love the addition of a family room. The calming atmosphere and opportunity for the kids to play while adults eat was such a nice change. We had a lovely kids meal, perfect portion for the 4 year old, and my coffee and Nanwich was delicious. Lots of vegetarian options, and healthy food on the menu. These guys are making this a destination cafe!!

Amazing place! Family owned business, cosy atmosphere, SUPERB food! Best waffles I've EVER had! We were given so much advice about local places to go and visit that we wouldnt have found in a guide book! Highly recommended, I challenge anyone to NOT like this place! Also, check out the gallery next door, owned by the same family :) cant wait to come back here!

Stunning place for food and coffee, we accidentally stumbled across it on the map and we where so glad we came - food is beautiful, really different selections, plenty of great Vegan options and the sweets are really good. Really loved my coffee too! To round it off its dog friendly too, super friendly - the staff where so good with our little scruffy terriers, we could sit in or outside with them. Very friendly service, we will make a detour to come here again - can't recommend enough.

Being going for over a year now.More regularly recently it’s part of my cycle route. It’s a great place to stop refresh and relax. Coffee is superb Food is delicious and more importantly different. The atmosphere is always pleasant with a good mix of old and young. The staff are fantastic and the cafe is spotless. Highly recommended.

We really enjoy family trips here. Have a play at the big park then top up with hot drinks and delicious food. The small family room has lots of toys for wee ones to play with. Really nice wee spot.

The waffles were excellent but the 2 waffles that I was going to have had sold out and it was only 11 o’clock. They wouldn’t give ice cream to the waffles that didn’t have it included on the menu even though I said I would pay extra for a scoop. Would also have been nice if you had the option of cream. Just my view but what I did have was lovely and the wood burning stove was very welcoming.

Decided to go for a walk round Harestanes today, have not been in a while. Did the circular walk, start at the car park and end at the cafe. Delighted we found the cafe taken over by out there artisan. Ordered at our table, Spicy tomato soup and pitta combo along with a latte. Fast no nonsense service and very tasty food, a really welcome surprise on a lovely sunny day.All at a very reasonable price, can't wait to try more of the menu.

I don't give 5 stars lightly.
Beautifully prepared food in a nice setting.
Ever heard of a Naanwhich? You'll get a choice here. Kids food looks great too.
Muffins, scones at a premier level. Go, before prices go up!!! It is that good
Outdoors, indoors, log fire when it's cold/wet. Soup £3.50 yes that's right. Go once, there's loads of walking, only 10 miles (ish) from Kelso off the A698 too.

A real little gem in the Jedburgh area! A cosy clean cafe with ample seating, offering a simple but good food menu (soup, toasties, coffee, cakes, waffles etc). Very welcoming and warming on a cold Winter's day. Child friendly and dog friendly. Wonderful stylish decor. Nice little seating area upstairs for a coffee and space for children (best suited to under 5's) to play a little and stretch their legs. Note - no shoes upstairs and children are required to be supervised at all times which is totally reasonable. Highly recommended stopping in if you're visiting Harestanes play park or walking area.

This is the cutest café and possibly the best waffles I’ve ever had. This is a must visit if you’re in the borders, and there are lovely walks around once you’ve had your coffee and waffles too!

Stopped for waffles while walking the Cuthberts Way, and oh my word! The best food we'd eaten in... forever. To die for waffles, flavoursome and well balanced coffee, creamy and delightful ice-cream and a beautiful setting. Children were happily digging in the sandpit, water for dogs and shelter from the Scottish weather. Toilets could be improved, but that's someone else's responsibility. This place is worth a visit on its own, but the large playground nearby, plus the stunningly beautiful woodland walks nearby are worth a journey from a distance. Well recommended.
