We have just returned from an excellent trip, Japan Uncovered. Blessed by outstanding weather, and in cherry blossom season this trip covered all the major sites that we most wanted to see in Japan. Our guide, Mina, was fabulous. Patient, knowledgeable and with a great sense of humour. Her English was excellent. Our group of 27 included English, Irish and Australian participants. A few of us had food requests and allergies which Mina took time to understand and to ensure that the restaurants were aware of.
Before embarking on a trip such as this though I would urge people to do their homework. This is a trip designed to cover as many peoples interests as possible. Therefore, there will be occasions when you like certain activities more than others. This is not a personalised trip. This also applies to the food. Sometimes you will eat at fairly high end restaurants and sometimes the equivalent of a cafe. The food is predominantly Japanese because that is what people eat in Japan! I am not a huge fan of Japanese food but I tried everything and I was never hungry. The days are long and there is often quite a bit of walking. So when it is stated that a good level of fitness is required, that is what they mean. On the first day we walked over 20,000 steps as well as travelling by coach and boat; and recovering from jet lag. English is not widely spoken but with a smile and a sense of humour most things can be communicated. We were happy with all of the hotels that we stayed in but Japanese hotel rooms tend to be small and rather warm. There often isn’t a bar to relax in, in the evenings but the vending machines are excellent.
We will definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for other Wendy Wu tours but I think that this one will be hard to beat both in terms of cost and the amount of Japan that we were able to see. Just a couple of thousand photos to go through now.

The whole Glories of China tour was perfect, great sites to visit, smooth and quick transfers, good hotels and restaurants, friendly and helpful guides (esp Helen Liao) but best of all it was great fun. It was faultless - best tour we have ever had!!

A very well organised tour from start to finish. Our tour guide Hero did an amazing job ensuring our visit was seamless and our itinerary was fulfilled each day. The majority of our meals were excellent but a couple of them were unacceptable, we complained about this via email when we returned home but , as yet , three weeks later have had no response apart from a generic email saying they will look into it, this again is unacceptable.

Scoured the Internet for a great tour to Cambodia. These guy's did the best one.
We went through everything and nothing was to much trouble.
What was even better was the low deposit, especially in these times.
Booked it there and then. My husband and I can't wait to tour this beautiful country and Wendy Wu Tours are helping us to achieve this.

I have recently been on the glories of China tour and have been overwhelmed by the all that I saw. This was a wonderful trip that was smooth from start to finish. Our tour guide Sean was superb as were the local guides Christie, Cindy and Andy.
I can only highly recommend the flawless organisational skills which ensured everyone was treated equally and extremely well. A truly unforgettable experience which tested my ability to walk more than the few steps to my car! I returned exhausted but fitter and more knowledgeable about this 'closed' country.
I am so pleased that I did this and say to all my friends to be prepared for something really different than a usual sunshine holiday.

My husband and I have just returned from China. This was a cruise to start with, getting off in Shanghai and starting our 12 day Wendy Wu tour of China.
It was seamless, we were met by our tour guide Mark Wong at the cruise terminal and transferred to our hotel for a 2 night stay in Shanghai at the beginning of tour.
All the hotels we stayed in were at the least 4☆ the breakfast were great, buffet style that suited all tastes
All meals were provided breakfast, lunch and dinner. If we were flying to another part of China that day we would have an early lunch and sandwiches and snacks would be provided for the plane journey
On the food side I never eat Chinese food in UK I just don't like it. But I went with an open mind and tried it I found it to be delicious. It was quite samey each day with slight changes but nonetheless really tasty. The only time I did struggle was in the Sichuan province as the food is a little more spicy but hey i survived and the rest of the our group seemed to enjoy it .
Our tour also included a 4 night cruise on the Yangtze River. I really enjoyed this, ok it's not a 5 ☆cruise ship but it was clean and comfortable staff were great really accommodating they put on shows for us a really talented bunch. Food was good.
We had the most amazing time, far exceeded anything I may have expected.
If you have a bucket list to see China then go I would recommend a tour like this we travelled over 3000 miles including 8 cities we went on the longest, the fastest the highest of adventures from the Pandas at Chengdu, Amazing Terracotta warriors in Xian. The great Wall of China in Beijing and so so much more
The tour guide and all local guides made sure we experienced as much as possible whilst we were there from going on the Maglev train to a Chinese opera and tea house. And much more
We could not have put this your together ourselves over 12 nights
It was absolutely seamless, everything was provided for to be honest I got fed up of being fed I just couldn't eat any more
Yes you can be picky and find fault with little things someone always does.
But from my experience it was amazing and I can only praise our tour guide Mark who really looked after our group, making sure no one was left behind ( various ages from 40 to 84) and we all knew what was happening and when and always finding us a western style toilet which turned out to be fun ( take toilet paper)
He was a great Ambassador for Wendy Wu and for his country . Every country has its issues but you will certainly change your view of China when you experience and learn about their culture and the way they live you will be pleasantly surprised . I am very well travelled so feel I can give this review . If anyone thinking of doing this tour or something similar would like to know anymore I would be happy to guide or answer any questions
Thank you again for such a wonderful experience

We have been amazed at the high standard of care, professionalism and outstanding knowledge of our tour guide Vuttha Dan. We could not have asked for a better person to guide us. He considered every detail of our needs including giving us the forecast for the following day so we would know what clothes to wear. His humble and helpful personality was so impressive. We had no doubt that all our needs would be catered for. His knowledge of history was incredible and he brought a wonderfully entertaining sense of humour to our tour. I highly recommend him.

We have just returned from our trip with Wendy Wu Spirit of the Yangtze. It was an exceptional trip with every aspect well thought out and obviously very well researched. We got to see such a wealth of interesting places but without feeling in any way rushed.
We wanted, in particular, to commend our national guide, Clara Lei, who looked after us from our arrival in Beijing to our departure from Shanghai. Clara was on duty 24/7 making sure that everything went smoothly and anticipating our every need. Despite having to concentrate on everything that was happening at all times, Clara created a wonderful atmosphere for our group. She's a credit to your organisation, extremely knowledgeable with her kind and caring personality making us all feel extremely well looked after and cared for.
Congratulations and thanks to all at Wendy Wu Tours for giving us a holiday that lived up to every expectation.

We have just returned from a "Wonders of China" tour. It was an amazing experience. We saw and learned so much about this fascinating country. The whole tour was managed superbly and the travel, accommodation etc. were all of a really good standard. Our enjoyment was very much enhanced by our delightful National Tour Guide Raymond Lu. He is an excellent ambassador for Wendy Wu because of his people skills, humour and vitality. Raymond ensured that we always felt safe and, as a superb organiser, he made sure that things ran smoothly. His philosophy and his knowledge of the places we visited helped us to appreciate this complex society. Wendy Wu should be proud of him - he brings great credit to the company.

We have just returned from your 26 day Grand Tour of China. We had an experience which far exceeded our expectations, from the initial booking process to the most efficient organisation throughout the tour.
The tour is go go go and covers over 7000km with 4 internal flights, 4 night river cruise and an overnight train journey; not for those with mobility issues.
Our National Guide Jason Gao was amazing, patient and very organised. He is a great asset to your company. Our group of 18 was an ideal number and Jason said we were blessed with the weather. Indeed, we began to be concerned that every time we left somewhere it was immediately hit by flooding.
To cap off the holiday, our Business Class return was upgraded by Air China to First Class, I could get used to being well and truly pampered.
We will be back with Wendy Wu soon and have recommended the company to everyone we meet.

Having just returned from a 12 day tour of Cambodia Wendy Wu Tours and their team completely fulfilled our expectations and more. An exceptional tour guide, Mr. Sokhoeun Bout, proudly guided us around his beautiful country with nothing too much to ask. If you are considering Cambodia as a destination I would thoroughly recommend Wendy Wu Tours to take good care of you on your holiday. Thank you Mr. Sokhoeun Bout and Wendy Wu.

Wendy Wu was one of four travel companies that I contacted regarding our plan to visit China this autumn.

After considerable evaluation of the various programs/tours provided by these companies, we chose Wendy Wu, not only because of the suitability of the Wendy Wu itinerary but also because of rhe agent that dealt with us - Miss Arti Gondalia. She was particularly helpful and informative in the matter of our tour, particularly as we are both in our mid 70s and slightly concerned about the fairly busy programme.

We are really looking forward to visiting China in September and will be happy to provide a post-tour report.

Regards and thanks,

Ronald Smith
