Cake and Custard Factory (Aldgate)

The cakes are absolutely amazing! Tastes just like the typical childhood cake from school, but better. Very nostalgic. It can be served with warm custard for around £5 - which is slightly costly but the cake was delicious. It wasn’t very busy and there was seating space available.

a great little dessert place in East London with so much variety! Reassuring that all cakes on display were kept in the back and air tight sealed for freshness but their display looks amazing - Plenty of choices. We were served quite quickly and dining in meant they brought out dessert to us. Brownies were done perfectly and served with plenty of custard. Overall atmosphere is nice and definitely high traffic through the store and I can understand why! Located closer to Shadwell overground and DLR than any tube station even though the name says Aldgate (otherwise its about a 30min walk from Aldgate station), but a great find in London.

I’ve had cake and custard once before and it was AMAZING!!! So of course I had to try it again. The brownalicious cake and the chocolate custard can I just sayyy 😋😋. I wanted to eat the entire menu but I’m broke so another time 😂. Overall the atmosphere and the customer service was very welcoming and I’ll definitely go again ☺

Probably one of the best apple crumble I've had. The manager - Samia - was very attentive to my needs. Very friendly staff and most importantly, delicious desserts. Will be coming back for more.

Customer service was amazing and the order was not delayed and the portions are good too. Staff members made sure I was happy with the service and were very welcoming. Cravings definitely satisfied and I will be coming here often!

Got the tiramisu cheesecake and brownalicious cake slice with chocolate custard which were to die for. They had many options to choose from and the portion sizes did not disappoint. Definitely coming back here again!!! 😊

I tried cake and custard factory for the first time and it was delicious. The tiramisu cheesecake is definitely one of the best I’ve tried. Customer service was amazing and she made sure we were comfortable and welcomed.

Coffee is excellent. Cakes a bit too sweet. Pleasant customer service and quite comfortable setting. Music should be quieter.

Delicious cakes and tarts that are out of this world.

The rainbow cake has icing and irresistibly moist and flavoursome rainbow sponge that you cannot buy in supermarkets... it's baked to perfection.

Cake and Custard factory also has some decent variety meals you can't have delivered on just eat with a mix of cakes, custard and single cream.

The caramel tartlet is also worth trying... just delicious.

Very decent portion sizes.

It's good to see that vegan cake and custard options are made available.

This place deliver school dinner desserts for the premium more sophisticated pallet.

Cake & Custard Factory is the one for desserts. High expectations for this dessert joint that do not disappoint.

I Really enjoyed the cakes here, especially the tiramisu cheesecake as it’s hard to find that elsewhere. Great customer service and friendly staff.

School cakes bring nostalgia and this place does make it well. Soft and not overly sweet icing, perfect when you have it with custard. I’d go back for it or try something new.

Thought I’d try out this place from the too good to go app as it always sells out fast and was very satisfied with my purchase. Very tasty cakes although I wasn’t a fan of the snickers style type cake but thats the only down side of the app as its whatever is left at the end of the day. Still worth it though and I actually got 2 lots. Nice quality cakes will definitely buy again and once open for table service will eat in too.

The one and only place to go to. If you like cake then this place is a must. Cake and Custard is an absolute must. If this place was closer to me I'd probably be there everyday. Absolutely 💯 yummy 😋

Pistachio cake was amazing. It has an extra layer of cream that really enhances the taste! The Aero mint hot chocolate was 👌
