Calverton Balti

We have recently moved to the area and tried the Balti as our first takeaway. The prices are reasonable (it is cheaper than both balti takeaways in our old neighbourhood) and the food was very nice- with popadom and sauce included. We first ordered when we had family over and one has food allergies, the Balti catered to their intolerances so easily. The staff are pleasant and we will be going back, we have done several times already!

Fantastic Indian takeaway food. I've been using Calverton Balti for years, and have yet to come across another local Indian takeaway that's as good.

The peshwari naan in particular is amazing!

Food is great with excellent service. Highly recommended takeaway in the area. A variety of items are available in the menu to choose from.

Consistantly good food

Apparently this is the new portion size for a £3 portion of chips. A handful of cold chips, with staff having no interest in whether something has gone wrong, simply saying ‘that’s the new size’ without being able to see it.

5 years ago this used to be the most amazing food, quality an value for money, used to get plenty of food. Now however, after trying it last night, the menus were wrong, even though I collected one earlier that day. The food was bland, watery, no spice and has made us both feel unwell this morning, which never used to happen. The sauces were severely watered down to the point they almost had no flavour, Also chuckney is supposed to have chunks in not be a mango drizzle. Very disappointed considering I'd told people it used to be so nice. Won't be using them again.

I don't know if this takeaway is under new management but I have just paid £8.50 for a Chicken Tikka. There were 7 pieces of chicken, a few slices of onion, two slices of pepper, a popadom and two tiny tubs of sauce. This is about 2/3 of the size of a portion you get in any other takeaway. I don't think I will be going here again. Much better value elsewhere.

we spent £28 on a tika starter and two lamb mains. There was hardly any meat in the currys and what meat was there was riddeled with fat. phoned up and they said there should be 8 pieces lol waste of time and money. wont be going again. much better value elsewhere
