In the whispering woods, I lost and found myself 😊😊😊
The wilderness and liveliness of this place gives me peace, newness and freshness. This is one of the great escapes. This is the first place of London which has forced me to fall in love again. Being always a nature lover, I can find solace and deeper understanding of myself. The tranquility of natural settings replace the constant noise and chaos of the concrete-progressive society with unparalleled peace and calmness.
If you are in London and looking for some natural beauty where you can connect yourself with nature, must visit this place. Not too big, this is soo beautiful. From Old Street, it's only 1 hour distance. Beautiful place.

Fully recharged after strolling into the woods.

The best place to get lost with an audio book or just go for a run and enjoy a walk with your dogs.

Lovely park, which once your inside makes you feeling like you're not even in the city anymore. You can't hear traffic noise or even see any buildings. Lovely paths to follow through the woods, a nice open field, excellent playgrounds and a great cafe all make it worthwhile coming here. We love in Enfield and we'll definitely be back!

Beautiful green space between Highgate and East Finchley. Nice play area for kids. The woodland is maintained by rangers who are doing a great job at protecting them biodiversity and the thriving vegetation.

Love this place. The forest is just amazing... For a walk/run/jog, just over a mile for 1 lap. Brilliant in the searing heat. Superb cafe in the middle. Don't go on the weekend, it's really busy. Unless of course you like that.

Lovely woods in the middle of London! I felt like I was out in the countryside. Nice little cafe too serving all you could need and with a dog-friendly seating area, although this space could use some sprucing up

If you want to escape from the city noise, highgate being a 25 min from the center it’s a perfect place. And highgate woods it’s the cherry on the cake. A beautiful conserved zone with natural woods and a lot of history. You can have a nice walk in a whimsical land without the noise of the cars on a colorful environment completely out of the London scenery. Tall trees and a lot is crazy squirrels that, if you are lucky, you can see screaming at the dogs, actually part of them can reflect the very spirit of a commuter some times. Here you have a perfect place to walk your dogs, with poo bins across the place, an amazing zone to jog under the shadow of tall trees and the beautiful smell of nature with one or two leg burning hills. If you have kids, the second zone is perfect for you with activity areas and a play ground just next to the cafe (which I have never been). Tree soccer fields maybe more, are up to the ones that are more into the group activities, normally full with kids too and families distributed around.
Highgate woods is the perfect place to have a nice menta rest. For a loner of the beautiful benches with memoirs of the old walkers, to the scenery out of a classical painting from a crazy renaissance era.

Stunning on a sunny Sunday. Great if you want walk around the woods; plenty of trails and great shaded woodland walk. This is accompanied by a wonderful open field, great for sports, running around or lounging. Thankfully, there are also refreshment spots and lavatories. Will definitely be returning.

A really lovely urban wood with an amazing playground, cricket pitch, cafe and more. A great place for a property woodland walk and a bit of food in the quite pricey cafe.

Highgate wood is a beautiful place to go for a relaxing walk, by yourself, with kids or even to exercise your dogs. It's big and well kept considering it is a wood. There is plenty of wildlife to peak at respectfully.
We visited yesterday for the first time in a while and the woods look beautiful with the autumn leaves on the ground and falling from the trees. There is a playground for children with public toilets next to it, a big open field and across the other side, you can relax by the little cafe. Looking forward to going back.

I visited here in April 2022 as part of walking the Capital Ring route around London. This is a nice woodland for walks.

I love this part of town. Feels so far away from London when it really isn't. A beautiful part that has a Woods that is huge! Great for Sunday strolls and walking through casually. Love it. A North London gem. Also being close to the massive and expansive Park Hampstead heath and nearby tube stations too.

Quite a charming and enchanted place. Some bits of woodland is very charming. For the town, city, it's a very nice place to hide away and restore your batteries

I do love a walk around Highgate Wood, as there definitely is a sense of calmness and happiness whilst walking through these peaceful & spectacular woodland surroundings! 🪵🌳
Besides from the trail & large open spaces, the other facilities being available are a cafe and toilets. ☕🚾
Upon my recent visit, I was delighted to have found 1 out of the 25 donated benches from Netflix, in which commemorated Ricky Gervais's 'After Life'. 🖥
Traveling to and from Highgate Wood is very convenient. Especially with Highgate Station (Northern Line, High Barnet branch) being located opposite and there being a variation of bus routes stopping outside the park and in the high street. 🚉🚍

Area of woodland situated within the urban sprawl of North London. It was fairly busy when I visited; the branch shelters dotted about suggested that younger people appreciate it.

Great for picnics and warm days since there are lots of shades there. They also have a nice cafe and public bathrooms.

Very pleasant place to visit, a lovely woodland area and green open space where they play cricket, plus a cafe and takeaway drinks and ice cream stand. There's a nice little children's playground too. Fun for all the family!

Wonderful vast green space with playground and cafe. The woods is kept as natural as it can be giving it a feel that you are miles from city

This is a great wood. The playground is large and has lots of variety inside. There’s a decent area for younger kids too. Dogs aren’t allowed in the playground and it is impossible to see all of it so you can’t sit outside with the dog and watch the kids. There’s a huge field that’s perfect for kicking a ball around, although in winter it gets very muddy. There’s a cafe but that has the slowest service ever so I avoid it at all cost. There’s a small building with information about the animals found in the woods and this includes some stuffed animals. There are toilets near the playground and near the cafe. There are lots of different entrances so keep a note of how you got in. There’s also plenty of benches around too
