Central London Samaritans

It’s a shame to see some of the negative reviews when my experience here as a listening volunteer has been great.
Despite how challenging it can be, I am with a team of caring, kind and very empathetic people that will always be there when in need. I consider myself lucky to be a part of the team and I’m grateful I’ve had the opportunity to join Samaritans.
Every volunteer I meet at Samaritans is always welcoming and willing to have a chat.

I don't agree with other reviews, they have always listen to me and haven't tried to rush me or push their way, they are a calming voice when I call screaming and crying my lungs out, and just to talk with them about anything makes it a little bit better. These guys go through so much without getting much in return, at least they deserve some gratitude

Always willing to listen. The Samaritans are there for you at the worst of times. In a city as lonely as London can be, the work they do is absolutely invaluable.

The Samaritans are a suicide helpline. They aim to support people in emotional distress and despair by listening and providing a safe place to talk.
