The Hunter S

I saw the Hunter S pop up as a good place to have a roast, and it was not wrong. We had the lamb and pork which was perfectly cooked, and finished with sticky toffee pudding, and apple crumble.
The pub was nicely decorated and photos in the bathroom my partner enjoyed 🤣 One tip would be to book as it was super busy and wet outside.
Can’t wait to return!!

I like this pub because it is different from other pubs but still has the pub vibe and because it has Aperol on tap 🤩 beautiful and efficient.

The decoration is very cool and the people at the bar super nice as well!

Really, really good beef wellington. One of my goals from while visiting London was to have beef wellington. Not only did I see reviews say this pub was one of the best for it, but it's also half the price. This was really probably my favorite thing I've ever eaten. If I ever get a chance, I'll definitely be back.
I ate the meal by myself, sparing only a few chips, but I really cannot recommend this unless you know (like me) that your daily calorie intake is well above normal.

A relaxing place to have a beer and some food. Good music.

I specifically came here to try the Beef Wellington. It was great. Crispy crust, tasty mushrooms. Well, maybe the meat could be a bit less chewy, but I enjoyed the heck out of it.

The crisps (french fries) were wonderful, hot and crispy.

The accompanying vegetables were just as amazing - not overcooked but not quite raw either, loaded with bacon but not overdoing it.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Went here for the first time for Sunday dinner based on my friends recommendation.Had to book in advanced based as well. First impression of the pub/resto was definitely an artsy place based on their wall arts and pictures in the women’s bathroom(not pg13 btw). For food I ordered the beef Sunday roast and they were mouthwatering beef. So tender and rich in flavour. Portion was massive for the price and it will definitely fill you up.

The beef wellington was amazing so crispy and tender. the fish and chips had excellent texture but the taste could be more rich, overall i love the food and definitely will be coming back!! side note: the toilets... see for yourself....

Had the beef wellington for 2 - it was very tasty!! The fries were just ok in my opinion. I do wish they'd provided a steak knife for the beef wellington. It was very difficult to cut it with a butter knife lol. Also spoiler alert: the bathrooms are...something

Cosy feel with interesting decor. Good choice of draught beers. Friendly and engaging staff. I had the lamb Roast and Beef Wellington and would order either again. Fish and chips were quite heavy and over-fried, however. Still, a great spot for a pint or quality pub food!

We called late the other evening on a Friday for dinner and they squeezed us in. We are so grateful for the amazing lady (didn’t get her name!) who sorted us out and even had our drinks waiting on arrival.

The fish and chips and croquets were delicious.. and the orange wine!

Nice atmosphere, great food, friendly service

Stopped here to try the beef wellington and we we not disappointed! The beef was so cooked to perfection - it was tender and delicious! We absolutely loved it. I'm also a huge fan of sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and Hunter S came through there as well. Great pub food, 5/5, would recommend!

Exceptionally good Sunday roast, especially the beef. Quality meat, and lots of it. Al dente veg too. Yum.

Also despite not having a traditional kids menu, they are always happy to do 2x small portions of fish & chips for our kids for the price of an adult one. It’s delicious and really generous portion for them.

My favourite place in London with the best beef Wellington in town! The steak is also good and baked Camembert. Love the copper ceiling. We actually managed to get here 40 people for my baby shower and it was lovely.

I have never left a review before, but I went to this pub last weekend, and it was incredibly busy. Despite that, I enjoyed my time there, so why not leave a review? The interior decorations of the pub were awesome, especially the toilets. Even though the pub was very busy, the service was very good. They had some young bartenders, but believe me, they worked as if they had years of experience. Someone even made four pints at the same time. Moreover, the food was delicious, and the Hunter's beef Wellington was the best Wellington I've had in London. Overall, I had a great time, and I highly recommend this pub, especially for parties.

Quirky restaurant with taxidermy all over the place. Very meaty - one of the best steaks in Dalston. Keep coming back whenever I’m in the area. Perfect for autumn/winter season. Wouldn’t go during daytime as it looses it’s cosy ambience.

Friendly and welcoming security and bar staff on a Saturday night. Always a nice time.

My b-day evening with my girl friends spent here. Random pick, well spent evening. Friendly bartenders, good music and apparently the bathrooms are something special 🤷
