Perfect place for a good dog walk. Nice café, a small museum good for taking the kids. All in all the perfect place for a day out for families or for people with dogs.

Living in nearby Putney for four years a walk on Wimbledon Common or around Putney Heath was a weekly highlight. Returning some five years on and the same feelings & emotions returned. Lovely. Super relaxing. A great place for families, young and old, and for walking the pooch 🐶.

One of the most beautiful commons in London! Well shaded paths leading to vast grassy spaces and ponds. I would come here every day and explore its different corners.

There’s also a windmill museum in the middle of the common where you can have some coffee too. Oh and there are black berry bushes all over the common if you’re into berry picking:)

I live right by putney common, I spend hours every day walking the dog around its many acres and it brings me nothing but pure joy. I count myself so incredibly lucky to have such a great spot on my doorstop. Fantastic part of the world.

Wimbledon & Putney Commons are vast land of trees, ponds, lakes. We enjoyed our walk there taking in the fresh air and beauty of nature. Make sure you wear proper shoes as the ground can be muddy and slippery. It was pleasant to see people walking their dogs, and children and elderly enjoying their walk.

Its a beautiful and calm place. You could see a lot of animal like swans, ducks, rabbits, horse etc. You can feed them. Its a fun time. Bring them some corn, or seeds. They will love it. Nature is truly beautiful and interesting. Totally worth a few hours walk around. Will do it next week again

I've grown up going here and find something new every time I go, I really enjoy showing my kids the places I used to go as a kid and they enjoy aswell, especially the ducks!

Wimbledon Common a place to escape to and chill, or have fun playing around.
This is a large area of woodlands, with little treasures dotted around. Ponds with dragon flies, trees beautifully sculpted by Mother Nature. The area is massive and you can walk for a few hours criss-crossing the common. A treat for children, couples, cyclists and dog walkers oh I forgot photographers.
Personally it is a dry weather venue for me, puddle I can deal with but the rain can dampen your appetite, wellies in the wetter season. I would take a flask of piping hot coffee and snack to complete my exploring of the wonderful woodland. There is a large variety of birds and wildlife to see if you are a little quiet. We found parking on a Sunday which made our trip even better.
As the seasons change so does the dramatic landscape, definitely a place you will keep returning to.

My mindful solitary walks here give me happiness that keeps growing. I have seen all the seasons pass. As I walk my joy gets deeper. How lovely it is to have this space.

If you wanted to take someone up on their insult for you to ‘get lost’, you could potentially go to Wimbledon Common. It’s absolutely massive, and no matter how many times I’ve been there I have on no less than three occasions gotten completely lost. Make sure you have your phone on full battery and a signal just in case because the vastness of space could easily be overwhelming. I always find something completely new every time I go, and am not entirely convinced that Bachman–Turner Overdrive’s - You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet wasn’t inspired by this place.

A very popular walking and jogging area. A tea room/ cafe serves food and drinks. Toilets are next door. Around the corner is the London Scottish Golf Club who serve hot and cold drinks along with toasties and chips.

It's a varied large walking area. You do have to be careful around the open golf course if walking (dogs). And you can hear the A3 rumbling past from parts. But a happy natural place .

Great place to spend a family day out walking, exploring, running, biking. There are a lot of tracks good either for bikes or for walk only if you step out of main trails.
Can highly recommend tea rooms near windmill museum, and the museum is worth paying a visit too.

Beautiful and peaceful open spaces in south west London , Wimbledon common is the more spacious , with a Central lake full of feeding birds, the common is surrounded by many large town houses, let's not forget this is a wealthy prosperous part of London , take the District line underground train to Wimbledon station , the end of the line , the common is only 15 minutes walk from the station , well worth a visit to relax and unwind .

Just a short walk from Wimbledon Village. There's a windmill, with an excellent museum on the upper floors and staffed by knowledgeable volunteers. The windmill is open during the weekends. Excellent park for the kiddos+dogs Take care when you and the kiddos are near the golf course and horse rides.. There are also guided walks led by local experts who can give you the inside info on birds, plants as well as the Commons themselves - go to their Events page for details, or sign up to their Mailing List. Good carpark near the Windmill. There's also a decent café with toilets attached. Well marked footpaths

Nice spot to take a walk, take your kids, your dog… I used to run around the Commons but in the winter gets too muddy so it might not be the best place to jog.

This is our go to place, walking in the wood feel really nice and escaping from the city. The Windmill really nice and Queensmere Pond is our toddler favourite place to go. He like to feed the ducks, swams and birds. Digging holes. Climbing tree, hill, explore the woood, and chasing birds and squirals, play hide and seek. We once had a party there felt really nice in the middle of the wood. Ofcourse we took our rubish with us once finishing😉👍. To some dog owner, plz look out for your dog after they done their business. Thank you so much for keeping our place nice and clean for everyone and our kids to enjoy the beauty of natural. ❤

When the sun is out, Wimbledon Common and the heath become just the best place to be for those of us living in the ever increasing built up areas which surround it. It’s a trip back into the C19th when all of Wimbledon Park and Southfields looked just like it with the odd farm here and there. Today I followed the main water course up the hill from where it feeds Queensmere and despite the windmill car park being packed, I didn’t see a soul for a good half an hour. There is so much more to this area if you stray off the beaten tracks. I make the comparison with an earlier Wimbledon Park as I remember from childhood, the stream emerging from the bank of Home Park Road and running along behind the swings - now hidden underground - and I found something very similar on the way up the Queensmere feed. Get out there, get off the paths, lose yourself. You’ll always come back to civilisation if you just keep walking. Enjoy.
