Streatham Common Practice

I must say this GP Surgery is brilliant, not only has it helped save my life with very thorough tests that found cancer , which I pleased to say has been successfully treated.
I have had difficulty in catching my breath recently and horrendous coughing,
I saw the nurse called Jessica Knight who has really helped my situation .
I would like to thank everyone who works at the surgery as I feel they don’t get the recognition they deserve 👍👍

Been with this practice for over 10 years. Never had a problem and always felt supported whenever I was unwell or had health issues. Different doctors will approach a given issue differently but I never felt they dismissed my concerns. Really happy with the service they have provided over the years and still do.

I would like to show my gratitude to Dr Jacob Wells for his attentiveness, care and prudence in treating my month-old son.

We took him in out of caution because he had a high temperature, but otherwise he was absolutely fine. Dr Wells was firstly happy to run some observations and secondly when he saw the high temperature (38 degrees) he didn’t hesitate to send us to the Evelina Hospital. And it happened, our boy had quite a severe infection in his kidneys, which could have developed into something more serious.

Well done Dr Wells and Streatham Common Practice. This is exactly what a GP should do: gatekeepers, being cautious, listening to their instincts.

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with this surgery and can’t recommend it enough. Every member of staff I’ve encountered - receptionists, doctors and the nurse - are friendly, intelligent, knowledgeable, clear and helpful. They’ve shown considerable patience and flexibility at times when I’m calling repeatedly during a day, or needed urgent care for one of my children. After moving to this area a year ago and comparing them with my last gp surgery who literally could not get anything right, I am hugely grateful to have found this surgery, who have so far provided excellent care for my family.

I have just registered with this practise and had my appointment, only called in this morning for an appointment. Managed to get a call from the doctor within 2hours. Darren was an absolute pleasure to deal with and did everything possible to help me resolve my issue before I go away on holiday. Never seen service like this!

I have recently moved to Streatham common practice as mine closed in Tooting. The staff, the response times, guidance and service has impressed me so much. I spoke today to Dr Haque who gave me quality time, good advice and answered all my questions fully. I feel privileged to be a part of such a forward thinking and well run practice

My husband was recently very unwell, I had to call the reception team a number of times. At all times the receptionists who answered the phone listened to what was wrong and took the time to try and find a solution. There were some issues with the appointment process, but Dr Proctor was very helpful and supportive, and my husband is now on the road to recovery.
While it can take some time to get through on the phone, I have always found reception helpful.
I have recently had my over 40's checkup. When i went for my check up, i was really anxious about the results. Lydia, was friendly, approachable and just very kind. An asset to the practice. Thank you.

This is the first time I'm giving the service 5 stars because Charlene on reception was so lovely, polite and helpful - she helped me to get an emergency prescription and phoned me back when she said she was going to. Thank you Charlene!

My son and I are new to this surgery and can I just say from the reception staff to the Dr we've been assigned I'm truly blown away by how genuinely attentive they all are. Receptionists are thorough, warm and welcoming on the phone and welcome you with a smile when there in person. Thank you for making us feel like real individuals of the community rather than just another number. Amazing thank you 😊

I attended Streatham Common Practice today and spoke with receptionist Charlene who was very polite and friendly.
I also overheard her speaking on the phone to a person who was very rude.
Charlene was very professional in the way she deal with the phone call.
I give her 10 out of 10 for the way she conduct herself.

My experience with this GP was really good today. I called the surgery regarding an ear infection and they told me that a doctor will call me back within the next 4 hours, which he did. The doctor listened to what symptoms that I had and prescribed me some medicine, but I did not feel rushed at all. The doctor was also able to help me with my repeat prescriptions, and overall it was a very easy and quick experience.

I have been with this surgery for over 25 years and have been extremely happy with the care provided by all the doctors. Recently I have had a few telephone consultations with Dr Booth and have been delighted with her recommendations and follow up. I love the ease of getting help by sending messages via their website and have been amazed by the quick and thorough responses. I would have no hesitation in recommending this surgery.
As for the reception staff, it really saddens me to read all the terrible reviews. They have been inundated over the last 2 years and are trying their best to help patients. Personally I have always found them friendly and efficient. Keep up the good work and a big thank you!

Trying to get an appointment with a Dr is very difficult, some of the receptionist seem to loath patients phoning and seem to enjoy making things as difficult as possible. However if you are lucky enough to get a helpful receptionist, and are even more lucky to get a phone or face to face appointment with Darren, the care you receive is second to none , Darren is caring, he listens and is extremely efficient , making appointments . Following up test results and booking hospital appointments. Nothing seems to be too much trouble . Also if you are feeling under the weather, a five minute chat with Darren has you laughing and feeling happy . He is a breath of fresh air to the surgery and should be cherished!

I have been with this GP Surgery for years. Although there are things to be improved in the system, I must say that Mr Darren Wilson is a breath of fresh air. Always very clear, nice and addresses every issue which saves time on multiple consultations and waiting. He always have the patient’s best interest at heart. Thank you . It’s been a pleasure.

I have used their online portal to written a short statement of what I need help with after the receptionist asked me to do so. And today - a couple of days after my message - one of the Streatham common practice team called me me. She was very kind and extremely helpful. She was able to get me an appointment for a service I had been trying for over six months to book. I am extremely grateful to her. Thank you.

I have received outstanding support from the Practice team over recent months. I am grateful for the time and regular reviews that have been offered to me by clinicians and reception team and feel I have made good progress as a result of their close and consistent support, encouragement and guidance. I’ve been registered with the surgery for almost 5 years, apart from one occasion where I thought a nurse could have dealt with a situation differently I have been delighted with the service. The doctors are wonderful and I am always seen promptly, especially anything relating to my young children. Today I requested a telephone consultation, no sooner had I put the phone down to the receptionist my phone rang and it was the doctor.

My mum has been registered with this GP practice for many years now. I have always found all the staff to be extremely helpful and understanding.
My mum has complex health needs, any queries I have are sent in via an email system resulting in a consultation with one of the doctors over the phone the next day. All the Doctors I’ve ever had dealings with have been amazing, informative and supportive of mums needs and wishes, I highly recommend this surgery.

Just had another appointment with Darren Wilson (ANP) who is nothing less than AMAZING’ ! I honestly cannot thank him enough for his diligent and sensitive consultations. If an award could be given.. i would truly give this to him. At times you feel like you are struggling or need support, a session with Darren will bring you back! Thank you Darren for being you! Please never leave the Practice!!

I have always found Darren Wilson, Dr Booth and Dr NGo to be extremely helpful, supportive and professional. They are absolutely always helpful, sensitive and diligent. The follow up has always been monitored and i have been very impressed with their consultations. It is still a nightmare trying to get through to reception and arrange an appointment, but in terms of the practitioners interaction, always valuable.

I have been attending this practice with my 2 young children for 18 months and have always found the reception staff, nurses and doctors to be kind, professional and very helpful. Although it can sometimes take a long time to get through on the phone (unsurprising given the pandemic), the reception team are very knowledgeable and sympathetic and always arrange an appropriate appointment for me as soon as they can.
