One of my favourite local restaurants, have never been disappointed with the food and service here. Returned to celebrate our anniversary as I love the intimate vibe, the staff made us feel very special and super attentive throughout the dinner. Fontanelle and lamp rump were fantastic. Highly recommended!

This is a cosy but elegant restaurant, the pasta dishes were divine - highly recommend the beef ragu. We tried some foccacia to start which I would also really recommend, and shared a main of lamb chops.

They have a nice wine list, the only issue we had was the pasta boiler breaking, so we ended up waiting a fair while for the pasta. The staff were really apologetic and assured us that they'd already taken the pasta off our bill which was nice.

Very cute pasta spot. Reminded me of a NYC mom and pop Italian restaurant.

Very cozy with delicious pastas. The cacio pepe was smooth and creamy. I got the crab dish which was awesome.

Didn't care too much for the oil that came with the focaccia bread.

A definite spot to hit in the area, though not the closest to central London.

(This review will be very long and very very honest):

So, we finally made it to Trullo after ages of planning, reading their cookbook, and even trying their sister restaurant Padella (actually, both in Shoreditch & Borough Market). Let me tell you, the wait was totally worth it! Trullo turned out to be an Italian food paradise right in London.

Cod cheeks as a starter was like a culinary masterpiece that etched itself into my memory forever. The flavors, the texture – everything was just perfect. Salami and eel arancini were mouthwatering as well so we almost didn't want to move on to the main course because we wanted to savor that moment forever.

The pork chop with those amazing beans was a match made in food heaven. It was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and full of flavor. And those beans, oh boy, they were like little bursts of goodness on the plate.

Then there was the pasta with beef ragu. It was a comforting, hearty dish that felt like a warm hug on a plate. The beef ragu was rich and savory, clinging to the perfectly cooked pasta. It was the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes and savor every mouthful.

And now, let me tell you about the tiramisu. If you thought you've had good tiramisu before, think again. Trullo's tiramisu was a game-changer, a dessert experience like nowhere else in London. The layers of mascarpone cheese were velvety and smooth, perfectly balanced with the coffee-soaked ladyfingers. It was decadent without being overly sweet, and every spoonful was pure bliss.

Oh, and the atmosphere! Trullo had this cozy yet lively vibe that made the whole experience even better. The staff were friendly, and there was this wonderful buzz in the air. Plus, there's something about enjoying a fantastic meal that's just so satisfying, you know?

So, there you have it – Trullo, where dreams of Italian food come true! I will be back very soon, even its a bit too far..

My new favourite italian restaurant in London! The food, service and atmosphere here was incredible.

We ordered the mussels for Starters which were cooked perfectly.

For mains we got the crab linguine (best I've had in London), beef papardelle ragu and the gnocchi.

All of the dishes were cooked perfectly and full of flavour.

An Italian restaurant near Highbury & Islington Station, with freshly made pasta that you can see them make on the outside left window. Their lunch and dinner menus update daily, but Beef Shin Ragu is usually a regular dish that they have and known for. I tried the beef shin ragu many times in the past and the quality is consistently good. You may need to book a table for dinner but usually you will get a table walking in for lunch.

I had a 6pm booking and we were a little bit late but the team were so understanding and when our table was needed again we were told we could keep drinking our wine in the bar… the food was incredible and so delicious. The beef shin ragu was 10/10… so was the panna cotta and prunes were incredible!

A lovely and intimate restaurant in Highbury and Islington, perfect for an outing with friends or a date. The food was stunning and the service even better, our waitress was super knowledgeable and helpful throughout. The food was very tasty, elegant and simple, just as Italian food should be. The menu was small and given how good the ragu parpafelle was I just wish they offered a few more options so there was more to try! Our total spend was £45 each after sharing 2 starters, 1 glass of wine and sharing 1 dessert, which I thought was very reasonable. Would come back again.

Wow, after all this time.... Tonight, for me, @Trullo sealed its reputation as one of the best restaurants, international, there is. It was faultless, divine, exquisite and DELICIOUS. Grateful.

Really enjoyed my solo dinner at Trullo. They have a section for walk-ins and I was sat at the bar. Ed served me and was brilliant at recommendations for the primi, mains and dessert. I ordered the arancini and a pasta with pesto and genovese: hearty portions, fresh and was served quick. Big props to Ed - great service!

Definitely going back and adding to my London restaurant list

Beautiful food, and I mean just stunning, delicious, mouthwatering food. Polite, helpful, attentive, and far from obtrusive service. A nice, cozy, yet efficient atmosphere and setting. Took my partner for a three-course birthday lunch, and we both left stuffed, happy, slightly tipsy on the amazing cocktails and wine, and absolutely singing the praises of the front of house staff, and everyone in the kitchen. We'll definitely be going back, and I've been telling everyone I know about this little north London gem.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in London.
I was greeted and served by very friendly staff.
I absolutely loved the Cacio e pepe (a simple yet delicious pasta with pepper and cheese) the last time I visited, so I went to try it again. It wasn't on the menu, but the staff was so kind to ask the kitchen to prepare it- which they did!
And it was delicious! I tried the dish at other restaurants in London and this one is the best so far.
Everything is created with care and very high quality ingredients. I would absolutely recommend this place for a nice dinner or a date.

Just make sure to book a table when you're visiting. I got lucky and got a table for one person at 6pm. But this place seems to book out fast.

Superb for a Sunny Sunday of Small Plates. Beautifully arranged space really makes use of any light available paired with an excellent menu that caters to your appetite on the day. We were in the mood for a few starters, a couple of pastas, some bread and a tiramisu washed down with a few glasses of prosecco and some sparkling water. £100 all in, then go make out on a bench in Highbury fields round the corner. A near flawless Sunday. Also good for family or friendly catch ups I imagine.

Came here for dinner last week, and was very happy with my experience. Even though it took a while for a staff member to show us to our table, the waiters were attentive and constantly alert to fill up our water, and take our orders. The pasta was fresh and delicious, and the overall atmosphere was romantic and formal. The desserts were also good, however they could probably be shared, as they were quite big. Overall a great place to come for dinner or for a celebration, just be sure to book in advance!

Six of us just showed up here since our reservation plans flopped. We tried our luck hitting the place as soon as it opened. And yeah, the effort wasn’t disappointing.
The tagliarini with Dorset crab and Amalfi lemon was my favourite. It was so fresh and delicious! The focaccia wasn't too salty and had a nice texture. But nothing special with the chocolate tar, honestly

Really lovely place for quality Italian food. We booked last minute so had a late sitting but didn’t feel at all rushed. Everything was great - the atmosphere, the food (especially the pasta dishes), the service - our waitress could clearly see we were struggling with our whole mackerel so came over to give us some tips, which was much appreciated! Will definitely be back with friends to try more of the menu.

Have been dying to come to this place for months and it did not disappoint! Elegant but inviting, with excellent Italian food that’s been taken up a notch.

We loved pretty much every dish, but gotta give a shout out to the favorites - deceptively simple bread with anchovies and butter was a perfect starter, the pastas (cacio e pepe and mussels, lemon and chili - ran out of crab) were silky and rich, and the veggie main - Jerusalem artichoke with truffle and Parmesan - was really delicious. The desserts were also great - a chocolate and caramel tart and a warm rice pudding with rhubarb and pistachios. Were they Italian? Not really. Did we mind? Not at all.

The one possible complaint I can think of was that service was a bit slow, but honestly, come while away a whole evening here and it won’t be an issue at all.

Absolutely amazing place, we were greeted by a very friendly lady at the door and taken down stairs to our seat, we asked to move seats and they were very accommodating and dat us in the little alcoves they have at the back of the restaurant. The decor is lovely, and the atmosphere was buzzing, the restaurant was absolutely packed. We ordered a mixed selection of starters but I loved the cods roe, we got a bottle of the sparkling rose and then a primitivo. For main me and my partner shared the T Bone steak, which was cooked rare and was absolutely delicious. But the pasta dishes also looked great.

Absolutely excellent lunch 🙌🏻

Started with a round of the aperitivi and antipasti which were delicious. The Gimlet is amazing - beautiful bitter flavour - as are the arancini and burrito which were both gorgeously creamy.

We tried three of the four primi dishes, each amazing in its own way. The fettuccine was my personal favourite with its rich flavour but the tagliarini with parmesan, lemon and marjoram had a lovely lightness.

Lastly, the stars of the show: the swaledale lamb shoulder and mozzarella di bufala. What an amazing main course! The lamb was absolutely perfect combined with the potatoes and chicory.

Then, we finished off with a decadent tiramisu and the lemon tart which was gorgeous.

Just amazing; definitely plan to return.
