Visited this place on a Sunday. Food was superb. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Calzone was lovely and the beef roast was also great. They also have a lady working there from the Ukraine 🇺🇦 Who was really really good to our children. 100% recommended.

Great food, their lunch menu 11-3pm is £7 and the portion size is great. There’s plenty of shade in the very large garden and has a bouncy castle slide aswell a swings. Great for families

We chose The George Evelyn to host our 70th at the weekend with appx 100 guests. The venue was perfect with a large garden with play area to occupy our many grandchildren. The buffet was excellant really top notch. But what stood out was the management and staff, nothing was too much trouble. They made sure everything went smoothly which meant we were free to enjoy ourselves.
Absolutley recommend it

Editing this since we have now eaten twice since they moved away from being gluten free.
The food has vastly improved, the burger being one of the best I have had. Prices seem to be far more in line with what you would expect at a local pub for both food and drink. It's good to have a proper local pub back.

Pretty pricey for a local. Need non gluten free options as the food we had was very dry. Does gluten make things taste nicer?

With so many cafés and bars closed and my son at a sports course this week I wanted to find somewhere comfortable and with good coffee to settle down and get some work done. The George Evelyn was perfect. Roger, who I assume is the landlord the way locals greeted him so warmly, provided a genuinely warm welcome and made awesome coffee! Great selection of beers on tap too. Give it a go... 👍

New owners, new staff & new pub garden. Everything has been decorated to a high standard & the food is Gluten free.
Dog friendly also. A lovely public house which you must visit.

Has changed hands again, but for a first post-lockdown pint they had everything under control, and a lovely beer garden that was relaxing (not full of people going hard on the booze). Pizzas from the wood-fired oven looked GOOD!

We had our son's 4th birthday party at the George Evelyn. They were so accommodating with everything from entertainment to decor and food. We had a secluded section away from the general public area which made it feel like our own private function room. Highly recommend to anyone.

Family Outing, large party, great food, relaxed atmosphere. Heard lots of positive feedback from others enjoying their meals. Definitely worth at least 2 visits!

Lunch midweek, ribeye steak and drinks for 3 under £45. Friendly staff nice beer garden. What more can you ask.

Amazing and delicious gluten free food. So nice to have a Gluten free meal away from home....plus 1 or 2 pints! Staff very friendly.

Really warm and friendly environment. Ditto for the staff. The food is delicious with generous portions. Best of all it's Gluten Free!
