We popped in for a few drinks and some thick cut chips. Great atmosphere and good service.

If you are looking for a dog friendly pub with a great relaxed atmosphere, brilliant service and top notch tasty food then look no further than this lovely pub in Notting Hill. We all had the Sunday roast and I had to treat myself with the sticky toffee pudding which was fantastic. I will be back for sure!

Great atmosphere, good pub menu and pub style cuisine. Great for a pre concert or pre cinema meal. Great for casual social catch ups. But as with anywhere that is good, it's popular, so, if you want to eat, booking is pretty much essential most nights, even early and mid week.

Great food, wide range of tap beer. Excellent service and environment.

Visited here a few weeks ago with my son. The staff were very good, especially marcello (the Italian guy?). Made good food recommendations and very friendly. And a blonder looking guy (sorry didn't get his name!) Was very nice. Lovely place to have lunch. Will visit again.

Really nice staff, lovely vibe and amazing food.

Came here for Sunday roast with my partner and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the roast beef and roast lamb along with a bottle of the malbec. The meat was cooked perfectly and full of flavour along with some of the best gravy I've had in a pub. The roasted squash was different but really good (I may add to my own roast at home) A special mention to the bar man matauez (I hope I spelt correctly) as he was a very good host and always smiling

Unexpectedly exceptional! We called ahead and even though it was late a table was held for us. Jono was a delight and accommodating in our questions and banter. And the kitchen completely delivered on their varied and delicious menu. If you just come for a nibble at least get the truffle parmesan fries.

Ps - cocktails were on point!

The Hillgate is a lovely and lively place. Slightly hidden but still may be quite busy. Great food and nice selection of drinks. Excellent service.

Charming staff, didn’t eat much - nacho’s but great wine list. Seats a bit oldy worldy so probably best jeans than fancy outfit.

Jono and his team at The Hillgate pub put on a wonderful evening for our annual Christmas bash! The effort and attention to detail was fantastic, it felt very festive and wholesome! The Christmas dinner/ roast was by far the best I’ve had at a pub. I’d also reccomend the private room to anyone looking to host a large gathering as it felt special to have our own space! There was lots of room and we had control of the music too which was perfect for a dance! Thank you very much to the Hillgate team for making our get together memorable - we plan to make a tradition and be back next year :)

Very close to Notting Hill Station. The fish&chips was perfect and the beers are very good. The waiter was very kind. Absolutelly recommended.

A great, friendly pub with delicious food and lovely staff!

An all-around great English pub with great atmosphere and equally great food! We went there for Sunday Roast once and many times for a pint. The food is really delicious. Highly recommended if you are looking for a local, genuine Pub experience. Good for people-watching too!

Brilliant pub, the staff are great, service was prompt and the food was fantastic! Great value for money. They are dog friendly and look after single travellers.

I recommend coming here for Sunday lunch. Delicious pork belly and an indulgent hot chocolate made my weekend complete!

Excellent new range of dishes - the mackerel as a starter was delicious! Quite quiet for a Friday lunch and music a tad too loud but otherwise superb as usual.

Very cool pub, they stream sport too. The prices are reasonable and the food very tasty. 17£ for beef Sunday roast and the yorkshire pudding definitelly took over the plate! The beef well done and roasted veggies very tasty too!
