Britannia Leisure Centre

Absolutely incredible facility for great value! Can’t recommend this place enough. It is also extremely well maintained and with very new equipment. If you’re reading this and live nearby this is the place to go.

The crèche service is outstanding. People working there are really charming and friendly, and they care about the little ones. I have been bringing my baby since he was 4 month (now 10) regularly, and I see that they are always playing actively with him. They also keep him really clean changing his nappy when he needs. I strongly recommend this place. 👌

A relaxing lobby area, good views of the adjacent Shoreditch Park and beautiful sunsets. Good sports facilities. However, I'm not in favour of the unisex shower facilities/ changing rooms, although there are also separate changing room lockers.

I am rating this 5 stars for the following reasons:

1. The crèche is wonderful and a massive support to parents
2. The sauna is hot and there is a cold shower now next to it
3. The gym is decent enough and has a good atmosphere and views

If all Better Gyms were like this in London, it would be a slightly happier city

My daughter has been attending the holiday club here (which, as an extra life saver, was also open for the school strike days!) and always comes out happy! The staff are amazing and she loves them. Love the fact that she gets to do sports and swimming every day during the holidays - thanks everyone!

If Carlsberg did leisure centres, this would be it! The new Britannia is incredible. Well spec’d gym, beautiful, fully accessible building, impeccably clean, lovely soft play for kids (with changing and toilet facilities) and a great cafe. The only problem I could find is that the soft play is only open until 10.30am on Saturday and Sunday - it’d be so much better for working parents if the weekend opening hours could be extended, as soft play is a great way to entertain little kids if it’s a rainy weekend. Other than that, this is a 5* leisure centre. The accessibility is incredible.

Britannia Leisure Centre is great. I use the crèche on a weekly basis, the staff are wonderful and my little one is happy and well looked after. Can’t recommend it enough! We also have swimming lessons there and use the swimming pool and gym, all fantastic.

THE BEST GYM! Just finished my first visit.
Pool water feels super clean.
Gym actually plays good music, at a good volume and in good speakers.
Temperature control is incredible even on really hot days. Other gyms I have to splash water on myself during summer.
Gym is so spacious with plenty of equipment for all interests: I was actually so amazed there are 3-4 racks you can bring a seat in to bench press.
Every area is flooded with natural light which makes a huge difference for motivation.
Changing rooms are cleaned often and have a really nice floor plan with superb fixtures.
Great park right outside to chill in.
The cafe area is very comfortable.
You really feel part of the local community coming here as it’s fairly priced and means many families use the separate play pool which gives the overall experience a warm feeling.
Whoever has designed this place really did a spectacular job! Well done and thank you. It’s really encouraged me back into a regular fitness schedule.

The crèche!!!! The crèche ladies!!!!! I am so thankful for this service and for those lovely ladies. It has truly been both a physical health and mental health saviour for me as a new mum. The room is clean and bright and the ladies are always so lovely and engaged with my daughter. Every time I come to pick her up she looks happy and content. And they always give me a quick breakdown - if she napped, for how long and at what time. They happily feed and burp her if she’s due a feed (I give them her bottle), they change her nappy if she needs it. Honestly a game-changing service at a reasonable price. I appreciate it tremendously, thank you! 🙏

Brand new 4-storey building with a big cafe facing the park. Everything is nice and clean. One sad thing is that the car park is gone, so it's not as convenient as it used to be for people who live outside central London.

We came here for the water play area, and the littleuns loved it. Lots of things to keep them entertained - found the water slide is so slow though - so slow the person behind me crashed into me. Twice. Very busy at the weekends, nice softplay too and cafe / seating area

The best gym centre it’s helped me in so many ways. Crèche service is just the best and Ellis is superb! Can’t thank enough. Love it!! Great and clean soft play.

The crèche is brilliant - the team are committed, caring and wonderful with the babies & toddlers. The crèche facility is bright, spacious and filled with colour. I can’t say enough about the brilliant team there who engage with every child, every session. My daughter lights up whenever she sees the ladies there, she loves them!

The crèche is absolutely superb. Ladies who work there are fantastic, and my son has an absolute ball with them. This has been such a life saver during my maternity leave.

One negative thing; the pool for the baby swimming lessons is really cold and has been for months. I’ve complained several times (as have other parents) but nothing has been done to address it. Many babies have to get out after 5 minutes because they are blue and shivering.

Modern facilities offering a wide variety of activities to the community. Like the no shoes policies in the swimming area, wish more people would adhere to rules…

Great facilities but bring headphones, the music played everywhere is absolutely awful.

Great leisure center with very good classes and an amazing crèche service. The staff at the crèche is really kind and doing a great job!

We had a slot booked in for 12.50.
And our group had a fantastic time. My 5months baby looked very happy in the water. Water was a perfect temperature.

Love this place so much! My youngest son attends their holiday clubs and swimming lessons. Both brilliant, fantastic staff, well organised and wide variety of well managed activities for an affordable price. I use the gym, it’s spacious, well equipped and staff are very helpful & friendly. Love the sense of community in the gym, great crowd, super friendly :) Thanks for such a great community asset!

I love the gym and the steam room.

What I don’t like is that the showers are always cold in the changing rooms it’s almost as if there’s no hot water. 🤔
