I love checking out new second hand shops anywhere I go so when a passerby helped us figure out where to eat while walking in Primrose Hill Park, she said "and if you like second hand there's a great place down the way called Mary's Living & Giving Shop" I said you had me at second hand. That's right up my alley, how'd you know! Such a lovely, charming shop with both men's and women's items, books and other suches. Great name brand items and well priced and great quality! Such a great wardrobe set up as a dressing room! Brilliant! If I lived here I would be frequenting this shop and all its locations as often as possible!

I love this little shop. It may be charity but the selection of books, household goods and clothes is top quality reflecting the rather discerning neighbourhood. As it is associated with Mary Portas it is also a masterclass on how to present goods in a retail environment.

Fabulous find! I'm chuffed I popped in here. I was pushed for time but had a quick browse around, bought a John Grisham Book that I haven't read for the bargain price of £2, had a pleasant exchange with the lovely lady who served me and was reminded to 'be kind' 💞

It just keeps getting better! The staff are very helpful and accomodating. It's recently had a well deserved nip n tuck and that's opened it up & made it lighter inside so you can see everything much better now. My favourite coat I bought last year and wearing it this winter & received compliments the first day. Clothes, outfits, shoes and boots as you enter! Ornaments, pictures, Christmas cards, toys further in and no need to rush, it's not over filled or cluttered. This shop is fast becoming a gem of Primrose Hill. Hidden away but worth digging for it. Got a few Christmas presents already and it's for a worthy cause! The recycling that will never go out of fashion!

Was initially excited to visit this shop due to the feature on Timeout magazine and favourable google reviews. Travelled to this area specially for this shop. Upon arrival at 2.15pm, there was a couple pushing a pram and two elderly british women standing outside the store. There was no indication that the store was closed, both on google and on site stated that it was within opening hours. The two elderly women were rude, retorting to me that it’s closed and why do people keep coming when it’s closed. It appeared that they had returned from their lunch break and were about to reopen the store. The couple pushing the pram looked confused and walked away. I stayed within the primrose area for another half hour with intent to return to the premises.

Half an hour later, I saw that the elderly women and a younger woman were inside the store chatting and tried to enter but the door was locked and wouldn’t budge. I looked around to see if there was any indication that the store is closed and there was no notice referencing a lunch or toilet break or anything of relevance. The shop front appeared to be open for business. They clearly saw me and ignored my earlier attempts to enter, so I decided to leave. It would’ve been courteous of them to put a notice or any indication of their revised opening hours and I wonder if they were so dismissive towards me because I do not look like a local.

My main gripe is that these elderly women had no reason to be rude to customers that think the shop would be open, as it’s perfectly reasonable to think so from appearances. They should update their system of being more communicative, for example revising their opening hours on google or putting up a paper notice on the store front. This store should hire people who are more considerate to customers.
