Met Ewan yesterday as I dropped two pairs of shoes for a shine and had the best experience I've ever had in a shop. Cheaney shoes are undoubtedly great and durable, but what makes the brand rise above the competition is having people like Ewan in its ranks – people who will offer you much more than a pair of shoes. Think about Ewan as the perfect combination between a passionate craftsman, a delightful salesman and a fine English gentleman. His knowledge about all things leather and shoes related is impressive and he kindly and patiently shares it when asked. Both the assistance and service I received from Ewan were impeccable. He even kindly took me through part of the mirror shining process which he demonstrated with great gusto!

These are beautiful shoes. Cheaney is a true heritage brand. The lady who works in this store is very knowledgable and provided me today with great service.

We were walking down Jermyn Street two weeks ago and I had a look at the various shoe shops on the street. Right at the beginning I noticed this beautiful Balmoral boot in Joseph Cheaney's shop. A day later, I returned to the street and asked for advice in the shop. I immediately noticed the familiar touch and was also impressed by the very personal contact. I was given the best advice and immediately felt valued in this shop. That made buying this really great boot even more fun. Please keep up the good work and thank you very much! Walter

Best shoe experience in London.

I visited Saturday 10th June. I was wearing gym gear and went into a wonderful shoe shop after mixed experiences at other brands.

The young gentleman who served me did not judge me, got myself and girlfriend seated and was brilliant throughout. I have autism and doesn’t always communicate well, but I felt very comfortable here.

The older member of staff in a blue suit was also really polite and kind. But all staff were great, knowledgeable and helpful.

I purchased some beautiful black oxfords and they offered me to pop back if ever I needed them shined.

Customer for life and truly top service, don’t waste your time at other brands in the area, the quality, knowledge and service is the best without question. This store are 10/10 in my book. Highly recommend.

I would highly recommend the Cheaney shopping experience - especially the Covent Garden shop on Henrietta Street. Superb English made shoes, boots and accessories; friendly, approachable and knowledgeable staff who look the part, sound the part and wear the stuff they sell. Here are two summer 2021 purchases - the Alfred R capped Oxford with Dainite sole and the Trafalgar suede boot.

Amazing shoes and the best customer service I've ever seen

Simply a great experience. I bought a pair of chukka boots in dark brown, grain, because I already have a 10 y suede chukka from Cheaney. The shoes are like new after so long (Jakie was the original model I own, now I have bought Jakie III but the last is the same). The reason why I decided to post my commet is because the salesgirl in Jermyn st. was very very professional and super nice. Unf. I did't ask her name ( I know she is originally from Ukraine). It was Friday 7 July 2023 in the morning. Well done. I strongly suggest this shop!

Just starting a new job and was in search for some quality England made shoes. I made the right choice going into Cheaney. The difference in buying something online vs buying in store is the interaction and the experience from the latter! Marta at the shop showed me how to put on a pair of Chelsea boots properly - very useful advice indeed! I ended up buying a pair of black monk shoes for work, which got delivered to me and they are simply perfect! Will go back for the boots at some point. Thank you for the beautiful products and great service!

My favourite quality shoes crafted in Northampton with a comfortable last and definitely best value. But don't go. You will get shoe addiction.

Beautiful shoes and very comfortable fit, I found it difficult to choose which ones to buy as they were all very good. Shoes are pricey, but very competitive for shoes of this quality and I tried shoes from six other retailers before settling on the Cheaneys. I am very happy with them and they have softened very quickly. Very helpful sales person too.

You may have heard that Church’s, the famed Northampton shoemaker sold to the Prada group some time ago. Well, the heirs to the empire put their money to good use and invested in (or acquired, I’m not sure) these guys. I had been a loyal Church’s customer for a long time but gave recently switched to J Cheney & Sons as they more accurately hit what I am looking for in a shoe: not some flimsy fashion statement but a well-made, classic, good-year-welded shoe. They haven’t faulted me to date. Great brand, lovely people, wonderful service!

I have rotated a couple of pairs of Alfred Oxfords for three years and I’ve found that the quality is excellent. One of the best things about Cheaney is that I’ve always found their staff helpful and friendly. This makes the fitting process comfortable and relaxed (other competitors could learn a lot from this!). I also really appreciated being able to pop in for some new laces and being given some without being charged - a great little touch.

Beautifully designed store with quality footwear + accessories made in England to the highest standard. What will always keep me coming back though, is the exceptional level of service they provide and the obvious passion of the incredible staff. I popped in with my husband looking to buy a relatively low priced item which it turned out they didn’t have in the right size. The staff called the nearest store, which did they have the item in stock. Instead of sending us to that store to get it ourselves (it was relatively close by), the staff member coordinated with the other store, and he went out and got it for us himself, then brought it back to the store we were in. This level of service is not the norm in London, especially because the stores are so close together so it would’ve been much easier for them to send us to the other store. For the staff to go through that level of effort, for such a small item? You’ve made a customer for life.

I fell in love with Joseph Cheaney & Sons just under a year ago and I'm yet to experience anything less than flawless service. The knowledge of the staff here is excellent and they're super friendly. Shout out to Marta and Matt for both being awesome, answering lots of questions from me, offering reassuring advice and doing a cracking job with bringing a pair of my boots back to life. 🙌

We had a lovely experience with the staff at the Jermyn Street store. Excellent footwear with a reasonable price, hard wearing and I’m looking forward to having mine for years to come.

Outstanding customer service by people who understand quality and are passionate about great shoe making . I got my old cheaney's re-soled and they even offered to have my non - cheaney shoes shined (one off and certainly not standard practice so don't ask!). I've always found them patient and comprehensive and a joy to visit both in Jermyn street and in the City.

Had to nip in to get my shoes spruced up before a show at the 02. The gentleman working at the store was friendly and did a great job with my shoes (considering I didn't give him much time to do so...sorry!)
