I have been with the Caversham my whole life and I feel privileged to be a patient here. I came a few months ago when I was going through a terrible time at work and was met by a lovely receptionist who took me aside and got me an appointment. She was so gentle and so kind. Dr Basford helped me through the next month, with weekly follow ups, and ultimately got me back to work. I don’t think I could have done it without her support. I think the service here is exceptional. My thanks to all the staff who have looked after me over the years.

I have only had positive experiences with Caversham. As a GP myself I am always conscious of adding to any clinicians work load but the reception and doctors at Caversham are always helpful whenever I call. Today I spoke with Tola who was very professional and treated my request with urgency and kindness.
Thank you to the entire team at Caversham!

I've been with Caversham ever since I moved to London, I love it! Lovely building, reception staff are warm and welcoming and so efficient. I'm never waiting very long at all (which is rare for London doctors). Dr Yasmin Aslam is so brilliant and caring, she listens and you're always involved in what kind of treatment you want. Never feels out of your control. Very much recommend this place.

The best GP I've had in London. The receptionists are really friendly and helpful. The doctors are really thorough and show that they care, and the waiting times are much shorter than other GPs I've had. All in all a fantastic practice!

The best GP I’ve been registered with during 10 years in London. Reception staff are efficient but friendly and make all best efforts to help- the building itself is welcoming and the clinicians show genuine care

Been through some tough times medically, and all the staff, from doctors to nurses to receptionists have been nothing but kind and super efficient. The quality of care here is outstanding.

I was new to this practice last year. Its been a year of big changes. All staff have been understanding, thoughtful and kind. They have been proactive in putting in place, the support that I have needed, in order to adapt to a new lifestyle, taking care of my physical and mental health.

Very good practise. My main concerns are my mental health and they are so good with al aspects of mental health. Everyone is so friendly and easy to talk to. I always feel valued and respected.

Thought I would edit as have had more contact with the surgery lately.

Reception staff are super polite and efficient and Dr Seegobin helped me get back to work and stay well.

I owe so much of my stability in mental health to this practice. They also have been great with my SMI reviews.

It was scary being discharged from CMHT (even though I requested) but Caversham have been outstanding in everyway

May 2023 thought it was time to update a review I made 2 years ago.
A lot has changed at this practice. All, as far as I can see - for the good.
I do find the recorded preamble to phone calls a little boring. But, in this day and age, people seem to be so impatient that, I guess, the explanation/monologue is needed.

First, the front desk....the frontline as it were. Polite, pleasant, understanding, helpful, sympathetic, patient. Bravo to both the choice of staff and their training. Same for the phone answering which I presume is some of the front desk people.

Second - ideas implemented. Like having meetings and listening to comments by patients. Excellent and smart.

Third - not quite sure how to put this as I don't wish to demean anyone who has medical training but isn't a GP....do I say ancillary staff or Nurses? Anyway - you know who I mean. Lovely people. Sasha who knows all about diabetes reminds me of my youth and our favourite tabby cat. Soft and purring....but highly intelligent so one can always feel relaxed and confident in her skills and advice.

Last (and, of course, by no means least) the GP's. The latest batch (not sure of the collective noun for GP's ....' A Pride'?) are excellent. It's not just about knowledge and knowing when to ask for assistance, it's about manner.....treating people with dignity and respect. My grandmother used to say "do as you would be done by".
Of course it's a vocation and something that nearly all feel "a calling" to do. (A large part of my family were/are in the medical game. ) But, still, they are humans with all the associated frailties. (Though I have been told that the difference between God and a Consultant is that God doesn't believe he is a consultant.)

Everyone is busy and would like to wait as short a time as possible. But, we must try and understand that sometimes there is someone with a more pressing (maybe even gushing) need than ourselves.

Patience is a virtue and patient patients will be considered virtuous.

Moving away from Kentish Town soon and will be extremely sad to no longer use Caversham Group Practice. Some of the best/kindest/most knowledgeable doctors at this practice that I've ever come across and the reception staff have always been friendly and helpful to me despite the pressure they are no doubt under. Thank you!

I have been with the Caversham for many years.

I just wanted to say what an amazing job everyone there (and I mean everyone - including reception staff, doctors, nurses and the unsung yet vital admin people) is doing despite the on-going Covid pandemic.

Throughout all the incredibly challenging times, I have continued to benefit from excellent care in terms of telephone and face-to-face consultations.

I am so grateful to have the Caversham as my practice.

Well done to ALL of you! Keep up the brilliant work. You are so very much appreciated.

I have found the doctors to be empathetic, informative and efficient in dealing with concerns. Like others have mentioned, it is rare to see the same GP twice, however, they have your medical history and (in my experience) enough time to go over details so I have never found this to be an issue.

Appointments are almost always 14 days from when you request one, though you can call in the mornings to check for cancellations and if it is more urgent they will usually fit you in with a nurse or phone consultation.

I have read other reviews mentioning the reception staff being rude and would like to contribute by saying I have never found this to be the case, in person or over the phone.

I have given 5 stars due to the quality of care the doctors provide.

Hi there
I just wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the staff Memeber of Caversham group practice about HCA Nicalla. She booked my appointment by herself to see if I am doing ok.
I have received all the follow ups from her when I arrived she has taken all the necessary steps to make sure I am alright.
Brilliantly she booked my appointment with outstanding and very caring dr Charlotte I.
First time in 11 years I felt that someone is really concerned about my health and well being. I am extremely grateful to Dr CI
and especially Nicalla for their high professional standards to look after the patients at their practice. I love Caversham GP.

My experience refers only to the feedback available here. It's very rare in my experience to find a GP practice so willing to respond to feedback from patients, good and bad. Well done!

After having some terrible experiences with doctors in recent times I asked the local community group on Facebook for recommendations for a doctor surgery (particularly one good with mental health trouble). I was advised to go to this practice and told Dr Galer was particularly good. Rooted in awful treatment prior I apprehensively I signed up and waited for an appointment expecting a horrible experience. My expectations were more than exceeded. I was given more time than I could have hoped for and a genuinely sympathetic ear to listen, top this off with expert knowledge and being treated like a human being I cannot stress how impressed I have been. I feel listened to which is a very big deal when you are talking about sensitive subject matter with someone new, but more importantly I feel able to trust that my doctor can effectively treat me. The only downside for me would be phone waiting times but in todays current climate that is to be expected, certainly giving any less than five stars just wouldn’t be right. Honestly never thought I would write a positive review for a doctors surgery, but here we are :)

The team at Caversham have always been patient with, and considerate to me over the 10+ years they've treated me, individuals who work there have always gone above and beyond to help in any way they can. This is always the case, if you're seeing an Dr or Nurse there for the first time or someone who now feels like family the 4000th. I had quite traumatising experiences with my previous GP surgery and am definitely a grumpy sceptic when it comes to health professionals (in general) as a result of this. It is fair to say I have trust issues and it takes me time to gauge environments and people. Caversham are the only exception for me, I trust their entire team, across the board. The reception staff are second to none. They're seen to exercise a level of unwavering patience with absurd behaviour from hostile patients regularly (which has sadly reminded me of my days managing betting shops long before the glass screens of the virus)
Immensely fortunate and grateful to have the pleasure of frequenting The Caversham Group Practice and having the support of the team there.

I phoned the practice at 08:55am about my swollen knee (I'd previously had ACL reconstruction surgery on it so knew it might be serious) and was given an appointment 15 mins later at 09:10am IN PERSON (summer 2021 COVID times)!!! It was FANTASTIC!

I rushed down to the practice and was lent a mask by the receptionist (I'd forgotten mine) and took in a seat in the spacious waiting area. 3 mins later Dr Sophie called me in to examine my knee. She was caring, professional and knowledgeable and performed a bunch of tests before referring me to the orthopedic specialists/my private health care.

Couldn't have asked for more - the best medical practice I've ever been to!
