Always had good support from Nurses and Doctors, but often felt that the Receptionists were there to keep people out. However new building new service. Excellent service from a recoptionist today. Only fault was that it took 2 minutes 40 seconds to get to pick an option. Shorten these messages please.

We contacted the centre, and the receptionist Branden handled our call with remarkable calmness, assisting us in securing the appropriate appointments. Thank you, Branden, for your invaluable help and informative approach.

Really quite efficient. If the call waiting time is long they will call you back. I got an appointment within a couple of days and my tests the next day. My nurse was really nice and I barely felt the needle for the blood test.

I don't understand why all those bad reviews. Apart from one incorrect prescription (correct medicine, wrong strength) I had no issues with this practise in the last 10 years. As far as I can say doctors are very competent and nice. During flu season they often struggle to cope with demand like every other GP practise. As for the reception personnel being rude - they not always the nicest and most cheerful but I never experienced any special rudeness. They try to deal with large number of patients and do triage as quickly and efficiently as possible. They do not need to hear all the details of your life. The longer you are on the phone, the longer another person stays in the queue - be mindful of that! Don't take their quick and short answers personally.
They are also very efficient, especially if you use NHS app. I get all the notifications there as well as test results.

Was acting as interpreter for a family friend when we saw Martha to unblock my friend's very blocked ears (severe wax build up). She explained things thoroughly and very clearly and was patient as I translated. She clearly loves what she does and is passionate to help others. She persevered with the unblocking and fully and totally unblocked both ears to a very happy young person who got his hearing back! Can't complain as we got exactly what we were hoping from the visit from a very pleasant practitioner.

First time to this clinic. I went today for a cervical screening. I met the nurse Marta Dorta. She was amazing. Suck a lovely person and very professional. Starting with greeting me and introducing her self, she then checked my personal infos and explained me very well the procedure, asking for authorisations, and showing me the tools she was going to use, making me feeling comfortable and relaxed. She washed her hands before to start and asked me if she could lock the door to guarantee some privacy. She also asked me a bit about myself and I had the time to ask for some medical advice. Marta addressed me the person to see and before to leave, I booked an appointment at the reception. The lady at the reception was also very nice and professional. I liked the vibes of this clinic. Thank you

Have been coming to East Croydon Medical Centre for about 4 years now and I just have to say how great nurse Marta is!
Every time I have an appointment with her, she is super friendly and nice and really makes you feel so comfortable. She is extremely professional and knowledgeable so explains everything for you, never rushes you and answers all your questions. Marta is honestly amazing and really makes any experience (good or bad) all the better!

Absolutely fantastic and amazing service!!!! This morning me and my wife had travel vaccine and nurse Marta gave us an appointment on the same day and she was extremely polite and helpful. She not only gave us same day appointment when her appointment diary was already full but also explained us all the vaccine details and told us what care we should take when we are travelling.

We are really very happy with the service and would like to appreciate the staff for going out of the way and helping us.

I'd like to thank to the Croydon Medical Centre for every appointment I've had in the past year.
The nurse Marta who I had my first appointment in October 2021 was extremely helpful in explaining me about contraceptive pills.
My second appointment with nurse Marta was today 02/02/2022 for my cervical screen.I have to say Marta has loads of knowledge about it she explained me everything and also showed me every single step we carried on for the cervical screen.I was a bit nervous when I got there but Marta was extremely professional and also she took care of me. I would say she's a diamond in this practice.

Thank you so much Marta I am 100% sure you were born for it!
Well done

My GP is great! She understands my medical needs, is a good listener and always gives me the best advice. I've been a patient at East Croydon Medical Centre for many years. In my opinion, it is the best practice for miles around. I have had appointments with other doctors and nurses at the centre, and the care I've received is excellent. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. I am impressed how the doctors and staff have coped with the pandemic, from nurses wearing full PPE when I've had my blood taken, to telephone and video appointments. I don't believe in complaining that I can't see my GP or another doctor face-to-face. I'm just glad I can talk to my GP and other doctors by telephone.
Thank you East Croydon Medical Centre for keeping me well.

Received a ear treatment from a lovely nurse called Marta, who was extremely professional, informative and just super friendly. As a result of her thoroughly explaining the process to me beforehand, an experience which could have been quite uncomfortable, turned out to be quite calming. Hope if I need to return again, that I am fortunate enough to have that nurse!

We visited the east Croydon medical centre for our vaccinations and were attended by Nurse Marta. She was courteous, patient and took the time to explain everything before administering the doses. She was very patient with our year old child and even gave our child a sticker at the end of the shot, which was a very nice gesture. Marta really went above and beyond and made our visit to the GP a very pleasant one. Thank you Marta

I have been seeing Marta, the nurse for a while now and I can honestly say she is the nicest and most helpful individual I have come across. She goes the extra mile for her patients and ensures she provides full care. During covid she made me feel safe. Before travelling she gave me all the medical information I needed to travel. Thank you Marta for everything you do!

Marta Dorta-Alayon is really super. We brought our child for vaccination and she did great job. I would have changed this GP but keeping it only because of her.

This is a busy practice - it's meant to meet the needs of a large number of people. So you have to measure your expectations against the demand. Can't get an appointment when you need it? You can if you call in the morning or afternoon. if it's a non-urgent appointment, and you need a particular Doctor, then you may wait for three weeks or a month sometimes. That Doctor isn't waiting around, keeping themselves for you. If you can't get one straight away, but feel your need is urgent, restate your case, and ask for referral. 'My' GP, i.e. the one who I felt had the closest understanding with, would evaluate, and arrange for an appointment to be found sooner. I've had 12 practices I've visited in my lifetime, of which 3 were outstanding in their care of me. All three saved my life and offered pastoral care too. If you don't appreciate the NHS is a shared organisation by all of us, with limitations because it's not private care, where you get first class treatment because you've got a lot of money to spend to prioritise yourself, then save up and go there. If you want to use the NHS, but don't feel you're getting the right treatment, persist, and ask for help, and if you don't feel satisfied still look for support. That's part of you helping yourself to maintain your help. I've known bad, even disgraceful receptionists, nurses, doctors, through my life, sure they exist. But to read people giving a low score because they were frustrated, and weren't thinking of solutions, and of helping to improve the practice is disgusting and cowardice. You're using part of the NHS, brought into our lives for us all, and we need to care for it in the same way it cares for us. I've found EXCELLENT care at East Croydon, and having moved, am saddened to have to leave the catchment area. I've found all there to be caring and helpful to me throughout. A one star rating, casually tossed off because you're upset on how you're dealt with is an easy form of revenge, but steers people away from a genuinely decent practice. So my 5 stars might falsely suggest perfection, but is given because some of the complaints here distort a notional score. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Had a great experience with the team today, from the reception staff to the doctor calling and how quickly everything was achieved. I know this doctors can be hit and miss at times but they have been great and do always try their hardest especially over the last couple of years and that they have had to relocate probably hasn't them much, but had a great experience with the team, keep up the good work 😊👍

I’m really puzzled by some of the recent reviews.

I had occasion to call the surgery this morning - A rarity for me (I don’t think I’ve been in since I registered a few years back). I called at 8am as the website suggested, my call was answered by Jamilla (I think) within 2 minutes and a minute later I had an appointment at 11.20. She was perfectly polite and helpful, and I couldn’t fault her on that.

On arrival, I used the self check in. Really easy. I was told to take a seat in the upstairs waiting area, and Dr de Juniac was spot on time. She was equally helpful, diagnosed my problem in a kind and compassionate way and also pointed out that so might have psoriasis too - I hadn’t gone in for that, but have never had it diagnosed before, even though I’ve been aware of the scaly patches since I was a teenager. She suggested I make a second appointment to get some advice on that too.

So I went back to reception to do that, and again a perfectly polite, friendly and helpful lady had that organised in seconds. And we were even able to look at different days and times that suited me. Ok, it wasn’t an urgent appointment, but psoriasis isn’t life threatening, and I was more than happy to wait a few weeks so someone who has a more urgent need can see a doctor.

I was surprised as I was expecting a really bad experience. Instead I left feeling really valued and looked after. Compared to my previous surgery on Edridge Road, this one is like a five star hotel. Keep up the good work guys!
