Lloyd Park Reviews

Awesome park on the outskirts of Croydon. It is open 24 hours a day throughout the year. The main entrance is from Coombe Road, immediately adjacent to the Lloyd Park tram stop, where two car-parking areas are available. 'The Lounge Cafe' is also sited next to the car parks.

Facilities available include rugby and football pitches, bowls, hard court tennis, children's playground, car parking, cafe, open-air gymnasium, disc golf, changing rooms and facilities, orienteering, cross country courses, horse riding and a pond.

Towards the northern edge of the park is an area known as The Squashes, where a line of springs emerge during wet weather, the most frequent being Rippingill.
To the north, access is from Deepdene and Mapledale Avenue, and the park adjoins Grimwade Avenue and Addiscombe Cricket Club. To the east the park is bordered by Shirley Park Golf Course. It was created from land owned by Frank Lloyd (son of Edward Lloyd) a newspaper proprietor who died in 1927 which was bequeathed to the Borough of Croydon by his family, after his death.

The park is not enclosed, as would typically be the case for suburban parks. Coombe Road is bordered by a low hedge and grass-covered earth banks have been raised along the open Lloyd Park Avenue side to deter vehicular access.

A fantastic park; have used it repeatedly over several years. Fantastic parking facility (free for 2 hours) but ensure you obtain a ticket. Ample parking on nearby roads for free too. A great children's playground, numerous walking trails which go deep into the woodlands and a delightful café, which has extensive varieties. Fantastic for early or late summer walks, watching both the sun rise and set. The park is often host to funfairs and is generally very well maintained and safe. Tennis facilities on site as well as toilets adjacent to the café. An outdoor gym is also in operation and a good range of equipment, albeit some temperamental. A fantastic park, free for use.

Great rambling area, big open spaces with woodland you can explore into. Love the café, such friendly staff and good food. Really dog friendly too.

There are multiple fields, frisbee golf (nope, not a clue), all the normal stuff and sometimes the other side of a tree is a whole new nature reserve with pond.
The ice cream is good, although I didn’t try the dog ice cream, google doesn’t pay for these things (or I probably would, it looked good).
Some people run. Some people have dogs. Some have bikes. Some people have kids. And some like me just get lost in the pond.

Definitely go check it out. A great park for a run or walk, or even just to get the kids out. Dog friendly. Playground. Cafe. What more could you need?

Lots of space and beautiful grounds. There was a small adult gym, which was very popular. I wish there was more. There was a playground and a place to eat. Loads of room to roam. My teenager and I had a wonderful time.

It's a large and beautiful park. It has tênis courts, space to play football, and others spots. It also has machined for weight exercises. It is great for picnics too. It offers so much options for sports that I can't even name all of them here. I have been going to Loud Park for over 2 years and I still discover new trails and routes. From Loy Park you can easily access the golf court and the forest. I definitely recommend to visit the park and be bold to explore beyond the area around the coffee shop.

Lovely place for a walk with or without a dog and a lovely cafe. Very reasonable prices. Cakes, sandwiches, hot food, £1 sausage for you furry friends.

I love how this spacious park turns out to be a pet friendly one. Walked my dog here last Thursday morning.

One of the massive parks around Croydon area. It's got almost everything from cafe to gym to kids play area to walking trials.
Best thing is plenty of parking available and 3 hours is free.
Make sure to get ticket from the machine and display.

Great open space not far from Croydon
Can anyone tell me if they’ve tried disc golf?

Lovely big green space in Croydon. Children's playground, sports pitches and a cafe are all available. Easy to get to via the tram too. Walking trails aplenty and lots of space. Not much shade though if coming on a sunny day.

A mixture of parkland with a cafe and also flower meadows. Easy to get to by tram or a walk from Addiscombe or other neighbouring area. Close to Addington Hills if you want to make include it in a longer walk.

Nice, quiet place for fresh air, play, walk, exercise. It's vast, probably adjoining other parks too.

The grass is green, what do I need to say. Just your average park in Croydon. There is a nice park nearby, along with a Exercise park near that as well, absolutely would recommend over any other park in this area because there aren't really any other parks in this area! lol 10/10 I guess..
