Perfect place for a night out in London/ Camden town, great cocktails and very lovely staff

We watched two of the 2018 World Cup games here. The staff were great (considering how busy the bar was); there was a comprehensive, well-optioned and affordable menu; a good selection of drinks and the ambiance was great.
The upstairs bar had a bright and a temperate environment - great to have the doors open with the heat, and a nice outdoor seating area.
Pleasantly surprised. Would definitely come in again, even without the world Cup!

Stopped for a quick pint. Good atmosphere, nice pub. Great break point during a stroll around Camden.

Great venue went for an event. Event was very well organized and put together. Bar staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely be back for the event or others. Easy to get to and location is good from stations and buses.

We went on a quiet Monday evening, the staff were friendly and the food was great. Especially the onion rings! Drinks are much cheaper than you’d expect too

Edit: Place has been bought out by a new company, its just Dingwalls now, Lock 17 doesn't exist anymore. If you're coming here for the event, look for Fest instead further up the road and deeper in the market

As a regular, I've gotten to know the place and staff. One of the first things its important to take notice of, is the type of place we're in. Categorising is a tricky thing so don't think of this place as a "Restaurant", think of it as a "Bar that also has food"; first priority should be drinks and bar service.

Great range of spirits, leans towards Whiskey & Rum but still has decent offerings of Gin & Vodka with quite a few different Liqueurs, so could be a great place to try different things if you haven't settled on a favourite. Camden Town's Hells Lager is in large supply, and they have a rarity - Rekorderlig Strawberry & Lime Cider on draft, I'm a bartender of some experience myself but I've never seen another bar with Rekorderlig on Draft.

As is the case in most bars, Service is at its best when you come in a quiet period, especially if its for a cocktail. Come in when there's a crowd (lunch times on Saturday are the worst) and it'll feel like every other customer is trying to make your time worse. The bartenders do want to serve fairly, they really do, but quite often with a dense number of people who all think they're next, its more than a little challenging to pull off.

Food wise, I'd recommend sticking to the small plates (3 for £11.95) - more accurately called a Tapas menu, since a lot of the food is spanish inspired but that's more because I like variety. My personal favourite is the Calamari Strips, Piri Piri Chicken Wings, and the classic nachos (+Chorizo) + a side of Cassava or Sweet Potato Fries (they've got this great Virgin Mary tomato sauce, like a more herbal ketchup which I like on the Cassava, and BBQ sauce on the Sweet Potato fries).

Now I can't write a review of Lock 17 without mentioning the fact they're the "operators" of the T.E. Dingwalls Venue building. They do a regular comedy show and quite often host gigs - no huge names but a decent place for a night out, like a birthday or office party. They have their regular club scene "HIVE" as well - which not my cup of tea but good for those who love some afrobeats and house.

One of the workers used their first aid kit to bandage up my girlfriend who got hurt in the market, W establishment and super friendly

I've been there during the day. Food was good, beer too. Service was pleasant and quick.

Very good place for a drink, although packed at busy times it is worth coming there.

Workers are well paced and are comfortable with each other in such a way the area feels friendly.

Watched the football here beers good and not to expensive would recommend this place
