My favourite and the best restaurant in Nottingham. This traditional family Italian never fails to disappoint on both the food and service. We are regulars and can honestly say we have never had a bad experience. Personal highlights are the steak Diane, lasagne and avocado prawns. You will not be disappointed! 10/10!

We have been coming here for years and it never disappointed. We went in last on 19th January and Luigi said it would be changing hands very soon and we could see by the look on his face he seemed to be upset on leaving. The food and atmosphere never faltered. We hope the new owners don't make it into a "hip and happening" place to be. It has lots of regulars and we dare say they will lose custom if things change drastically. We wish all the staff past and present all the best and we see some of you soon when it re opens. Wayne snd Teresa

Superb place serving simple dishes as it should be. A proper Italian restaurant. Extremely good on price. Big enough choice on the menu. Something for everyone.

Lovely authentic Italian restaurant. Wonderful food at excellent value for money prices. Super quality, tasty food. Probably the nicest Italian we've been to in quite some time. Despite living a 30 mile round trip away, we'll be back.

Well, what a lovely jewel , I love Italian food. This place is family run. Its , without meaning to be rude, a little out dated inside, but in some way adds to the charm of the place, but the food was absolutely delicious, I highly recommended this place. The charm of the decor & food go together very well. Some times you don't kneed all these up to date modern decorated venues, just a great atmosphere & very good food 👌 🥰

Came here for valentine's day and had a really good time. Everyone working seemed to be having a lot of fun and the food was excellent. Initially I was a little disappointed with the size of my main course because it looked very small but it had actually just been craftily prepared and was plenty! Absolutely planning on coming here again

Beautiful decor and atmosphere with lovely music. Staff were very attentive and professional. Food portions were fantastic and the food itself was excellent, absolutely enjoyed it.

We really had a good time and value was perfect, easily. Getting to have cassata ice cream after so many years was a real pleasant and delicious surprise for me too!
Their brilliant desserts menu definitely needs adding to their website too!

Highly recommend. Our waitress was so funny and food was amazing. Decor and atmosphere typical of an authentic Italian. Really lovely little gem. Couldn’t believe how cheap it was for a three course meal!

The food here was AMAZING! The service was delightful. Very attentive but not intrusive. We went without having booked and received a warm welcome. Highly recommend giving it a try. We will certainly be going back.

Fantastic value food, superb service and a great atmosphere. This restaurant serves excellent pasta dishes as well as meat courses such as steak, chicken and pork. I recommend it for a laid back meal in the week or a special occasion enjoyed in a lively atmosphere at weekends.

Both the food and the restaurant are a lovely 70s/80s throwback. If you want a modern, generic, souless restaurant then go somewhere else, but if you want an old style Italian restaurant with nice food then come here.

Could be the best Italian restaurant in Nottingham. We have been here several times and have been impressed on every visit. Great Service fantastic tasty hot food cold drinks and superb value. La Capana is always on our shortlist of restaurants in Sherwood and should be on yours too give them a visit and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Just arrived home from a fabulous meal with friends at, La Capanna. Very friendly staff, excellent food, (And the chef knows how to cook a rare steak). We'll definitely be going back. Sue

Music was a little loud which raised the volume of chatter to be heard above it BUT the best Italian meal we have had in a long time. Steaks, fish dishes and carbonara were all excellent ! Service was good and we will not hesitate to return soon !!

I love this place, it is a family run authentic Italian with delicious food at a great price. My partner and I both had 3 courses and we shared a litre bottle of red wine which only came to approx. £70 - £35 a head!

Lovely local family run italian, friendly staff and good service. This is not a high end restaurant but food is good quality and better value than many rivals. Restaurant had a really cosy homely feel to it that you would never get in any of the chain restaurants. Was really quite busy on the thursday evening we went in which is a good sign yet staff coped with ease.

I'd never been before but will definitely go again. Really lovely food, quite a dated decor but if you squint, you could be in Italy in the 1970s. Very 1970s prices too.. 👍
