Good atmosphere. Friendly efficient staff. Food was well presented with good flavours. We tried the soft shell crab burger with fries, battered halloumi, fried squid,and duck hash. All the dishes were delicious.

Just disappointed I didn't come and try the food sooner! We will return!

I stopped in for a quick dinner while walking around London. Staff was super kind, my fish and chips were so good and paired great with a beer. Great location.

It was quite a nice discovery!
We went there on a Saturday evening, and we had no trouble finding a table. We got two cider and fish n chips (totally recommend it, it’s super nice and we had one and it’s enough fir two people)
However we didn’t get any information about the closing part of the first floor at 10.30pm, we only had one member of the staff telling us to go downstairs directly. Fortunately we had time to eat our plate beforehand, otherwise it would have been complicated.
Would totally recommend! The location is perfect.

🇬🇧 Anchor Bankside is a quaint, traditional British pub with some fantastic views of the River Thames. It's not the cheapest pub, so don't expect Spoons prices but it's definitely convenient for its location. I've taken tourists from different countries to this pub from the Mexico, United States and Ukraine. Food is served by ordering at the bar once you are seated with your table number. Traditional British Fish and Chips are served here.

Lovely old time pub sitting by the Thames. The interiors are well kept and really evoke the essence of a British pub. It also has lovely terraces, perfect for those rare spots of sun or calm nights.

We had a nice relaxing time sitting in after hours of strolling in the city. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, mellow lighting with a nice view of Thames. Fun fact: it’s the only tavern that left from Shakespeare’s time and lived through the London fire (with renovation). I definitely recommend to head in while you’re around and check out this historic pub.

The best place to feel the atmosphere of London / beautiful view of St. Paul's Cathedral from the patio / The pub was established in 1615 as a meeting place for local people / This is where Shakespeare prepared for his performances and where the first English dictionary was created. It is also a place that hides a lot of ghost stories / it is worth coming here and feeling this place

Loved this pub. Got a bit of sunshine, sat both inside and outside. Perfect location. The staff were friendly, but they did not let me procrastinate and I felt rushed to find a drink quickly ! Anyway, it is still a lovely 😍 pub.. I am looking forward to going back.

We loved it! We walked through a long alleyway to find the pub and almost gave up but happy we persevered! We had a delicious meal in a great setting! We will def be back. Try the beer battered fish and chips or the pot pie - SO good!

Thanks for having us. Asked for a quiet spot for one of our friends with sensory needs (on holidays not too many quiet options about) and was allocated a quiet table and still received good service in an otherwise empty section of the pub. 11/10. Food was good too. Had fish n chips and the pot pie.

Welcoming on entrance with plenty of tables available. Menus on each table with ordering st the bar. Service for food is very prompt. Food arrived piping hot and pleatiful. Nothing to fault.

What a great pub! The fish and chips were delicious, as were the beers. They have really nice decor. Definitely recommend stopping by.

Lovely riverside pub. Service was kind of slow, but the atmosphere was great, and the pub was fantastic. I totally recommend it.

An awesome river site pub. Roof terrace, riverside terrace, indoor wood panelled seating areas. A great place to hang out and popular with office parties with lots of areas to book out. It’s cashless so bring your card (or your boss with their credit card!). Staff are friendly and efficient. Toilets are clean.

Super pub right in the center of London. the food was great, the beer too and the atmosphere amazing. we didn't even wait 15 minutes for our food and it was a pub full of people. I definitely recommend visiting this pub when visiting London

An excellent lunch, great menu, good size portions, lots of eating places throughout the pub. If you struggle with stairs, I recommend booking in advance and make clear your needs remembering that this is a very old pub. Staff were great both friendly and efficient. We will definitely return soon.

Was wandering London and looking for somewhere to have a pint and stumbled across the Anchor.
The outdoor bar had a decent selection of beers and drinks and service was relatively quick.
It had great outdoor seating and views along the river but still suitably quiet and away from the hustle of the city.

Went here for a work drinks do and the service was excellent, good food and very friendly staff. Right by the iconic river Thames. Great views etc etc etc . London, capital of the world!

Amazing pub along the river. Really big, with a great outside area where you can enjoy the views especially during sunset. Standard beer selection. Great food selection, amazing fish and chips, and fast service. Only downside the bars not really fast and get really busy during peak hours.
