Came here for pie which I would recommend, even on a weekday lunch this place gets quite busy. Bit pricey for a lunch, I would say it is just about worth it, had better pie but this pie is also up there with some of the best. Usually not a fan of Kidney in general but the steak and kidney pie hits the spot, doesn't taste too irony and has a good bit of savoury with a nice crust. If looking to dine, I would recommend to book in advance or come early as lunchtime can get busy quite quickly with local office workers coming.

What an incredible place, was told their pies are one of the best. It most definitely is!

Ordered the steak and kidney pie during lunch service and Ana-Maria was attentive, has a great knowledge about the pies and most importantly was smiling throughout! She kept coming back to ask if everything is ok and if I needed anything else.

Will most definitely be coming back here to try some of their other pies!

Friendly staff welcomed us and made suggestions to help make decisions with the menu. Local beer options available went well with the Shepards pie. The sticky toffy pudding was the best we had our entire trip.

Such a nice and cozy place. First time in London and we heard from this place from word of mouth and we loved it. Isabelle was so nice and lovely. Great experience. 👏🏼

Amazing Shepherds pie! Great staff, very helpful. Gets quite busy later in the day, and it's not a huge place, so larger groups (over 4) beware or go early.

The scotch egg was a nice opening. After that we ordered a shared menu with 2 pies, mash, chips and red cabbage. Steak and mushroom pie was AMAZING and the pork cheek pir is really good as well. But beware of the portion - we could not finish everything!

Staff are friendly and helpful. Has a great time here.

Will definitely revisit for the shepard's pie!

I am visiting London and looked for a place where I could enjoy a wonderfull Sheppards Pie (I also had a scotch egg 😃).
It didn't disappoint! The food was really good! And Edward, who served me, was very nice and also great with recommendations to my questions!

Great place for a beer and pie. Manager was very accommodating with our booking. On the day, we were lucky to enjoy the outstanding waitress service from Ana. The place was busy and she was ably juggling duties between our level on the first floor and the outside terrace. Many thanks for her work. Recommended.

Lovely upmarket pub, customer service was excellent, very accomodating to our early reservation arrival. I ordered fish pie and it was delicious, good size portions. The group I dined with all had different flavoured pies, everyone said their pie was the best!!

We arrived on time for our lunch reservation to be welcomed by the friendly team. As the pies are freshly made, we were advised that there would be a wait for our choice of steak and mushroom pie. And the pies were absolutely worth waiting for!
Excellent food, service, and ambience.

Accessible and friendly pub selling excellent, down to earth food. Went with a group of old University friends and their partners and had a great time. Edwards was very friendly and attentive and when one of our party unfortunately lost balance and fell over the staff were very kind and helpful.

One of the best restaurants for authentic English food. Perhaps the best Shepherd's Pie that you can find in UK. The food, service and ambience was great. Friendly and warm staff. Loved each of the dishes we ordered. Enjoyed their Ale. Will surely recommend.

A nice place to just chill for a bit. They have a few different NA Beers which is nice. The pizza and chips were fantastic. Great place for a bite to eat if you are staying at one of the surrounding hotels which don’t have many options.

In addition to their regular menu items, this pub also offers weekly specials that showcase seasonal ingredients and creative flavor combinations. These specials are often recommended by staff members who have tried them themselves, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. It's worth checking out these specials if you want to try something new and exciting!

I had a meal and drinks with old colleagues at the Windmill. Nice pub with a good selection of beer, sensibly priced food and friendly staff. Our meal was served by Ana, who was excellent. Very attentive and checked on how we were doing, and looked after us really well.

2nd time to come to the Windmill and the service is amazing. The atmosphere is fantastic and is your typical English pub. Each time I come to London, I always end up coming here for their delicious pie. I highly, recommend their Steak and Kidney Pie. This time the pie was a bit overcooked and it wasn't melting in my mouth like last time but the food tasted amazing regardless.

Fair warning to first-timers coming here. If you plan to eat here, make a reservation otherwise good luck getting a table. This pub is smack in the middle of Mayfair, it does get busy. So busy people are pouring out onto the street and drinking on the side and across the road. (This tells you how busy and how popular this pub is)

We had the private room upstairs for an event and it was absolutely perfect! Staff were great and the food was really nice! I highly recommend if you ever in need if a private space. The pub downstairs was also vibey

We visit the 'Windmill' every time we're in the city and love the authentic English restaurant with traditional cosy decor and - if I can judge as a German - the best pie and mash in London.
But also the burger and the sheppards pie tasted absolutely delicious.

The ambience is great and the service was very friendly! Even though the waiter was from Italy and the communication (Italians and Germans with appropriate language skills meeting in London) wasn't that easy, we made the best of it and laughed a lot.

I will surely recommend and visit my absolute favourite spot for a tasty pub lunch again!
