Passione Vino

This is my favorite place to go in London. It’s great for wine, good for a small gathering of friends, good for two for dinner. Great staff, food and ambiance.

If I had to choose a favorite thing, I would say the way they are able to choose a few wines of different cost that align with your palette and let you try each of them in a very approachable way.

I can’t say enough good things about Passione vino!

If your a lover of Italian wine enjoyed with some amazing Italian food then a visit to Passione Vino is an absolute must. They stock an unbelievable range of wine from finest small Italian wine producers. These you can enjoy on their own or with a charcuterie board , snacks , pasta , and main course dishes. This was our first visit and you can be certain that we will return soon.

Passione Vino is situated on Leonard Street in Shoreditch just a ten minute walk from Liverpool Street and Old Street stations. We entered to receive a delightful Italian welcome before being shown to our table. We then took a look around to see shelves from floor to ceiling stocked with Italian wines. But not everything is on this floor because one floor down is a room that could be used for a private function. Then you head to the basement where there is another room alongside the kitchen and toilet.

We then took a look at the menu where there is a Charcuterie Board , snacks and some delicious looking pasta and main courses plus a dessert. Once we’d made our choice we then needed a bottle of wine. Our choice was a fruity sensation in the Ginestrone Langhe Nebbiolo 2022 from Conterno Fantino.

We started with the Tagliere Misto a fine selection of meats and cheeses , Baccala - ciccheto with creamy dried cod on grilled polenta and the Frittata with turnip tops and washed rind cow’s cheese. It was all delicious and now couldn’t wait for our next course.

Now it was time for our main course. My wife and our friend opted for the Bigoli pasta with salted cod in tomato sauce , capers and black olives. For myself I enjoyed an amazing Lasagna with broad beans , speck and smoked cow’s cheese.

We the finished with the dessert of Rice and Honey pudding with baked rhubarb that was very creamy but perfectly balanced with the rhubarb.

This brought an end to a fabulous evening of Italian food and wine with the team who are very knowledgable and friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit and will definitely be returning myself soon to try more of these fantastic wines.

One of the coziest places I ve been in London. Few plates, all really tasty, great selection ot Italian wines and BEST service ever. Perfect date spot

Best Italian wine bar in town. Stock many small independent producers not found elsewhere in London. Gorgeous settings and great vibes. Been here with family and friends and always a good time.

I loved the no wine menu and enjoyed the two wines I tried. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and brought out 3 different types of wines to taste each time that we wanted another glass. For food, between the four of us, we shared the pickles, anchovies with bread and butter, onion and potato frittata, bigoli with ink braised cuttlefish, gnocchi with lamb ragu, short pasta with pomodoro and burrata and tiramisu, which were all tasty.

Awesome place with cool Italian wine, nice interior and decent prices! They don’t have a concept of a wine list so the waiters will just ask what you like and let you try some of the stuff to pick from. Great range of wines to pick from and knowledgeable stuff. They function as a shop as well so you can also take a bottle home.

Absolutely amazing. Wine is perfect. Just sit down, tell them what you like, and you'll be taken on a journey. The food pairs perfectly and it's an excellent example of home style Italian cooking. It's honest, simple, but amazing.

Charming wine bar. There is no set wine list, but the friendly waiter will curate a selection based on your taste and mood. Highly recommend this spot for a cozy night out.

Intimidate wine bar with a small Italian food menu. The servers are super knowledgeable and will bring out wine samples based on what kind of wines you prefer. Very helpful for someone not too familiar with Italian wines!

We had a short 48 hours in London and are so glad we spent one of our nights here. We know what we like when it comes to wine and the waiter was spot on, pouring interesting and delicious wines for us. Loved the concept and we can’t wait to come back but next time we hope to figure out how to get into the hidden room upstairs ☺

Very good place to take good natural wines, waiters are well specialized about wines, it is not expensive, you should definitely take a try !

This is my favourite place ever in East London! Been here 3 times and dreaming of the next. You won’t find anywhere like it, the food, service and wines are all amazing.

The wine selection and tasting was great, with an amazing service. The charcuterie platter accompanied the wine perfectly and the tiramisu in dessert was excellent.

I can't heap enough praise on Passione or the wonderful people who work there.

The shop is jam-packed with irresistible wines priced at what I think is some of the best value I've seen in London for this quality.

The team are super friendly & knowledgeable and will guide you to picking the perfect wine to take home or enjoy in the bar with delicious meat, cheese and bread. There are even some belting olive oils to go with it!

This is my favourite place in Old Street, if you love wine and great Italian wine, this is the place to be. Amazing atmosphere, great service, happy place.

Staff were so friendly and helpful; they allowed us to sample multiple wines and all had great knowledge. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back to try the food next time!
