I've been in this branch of Amathus a few times, searching for various different drinks (Wine, Gin, Whisky, Vodka). I've been served by a mixture of people and each time I've found the staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful (and the drinks have been very good!).

They have an enyclopedic knowledge of the drinks they sell, always able to give a good recommendation based on who I'm buying for and what my budget is (and not turning their noses up at me when my budget is at the lower end of their options).

You pay a small premium for shopping here, but in my opinion it's well worth the extra quid or two for the professional service and excellent recommendations!

It was my grandfather's birthday and I had decided to get him a bottle of wine. I usually go to Selfridges to pick up a nice bottle (foolishly perhaps?) when a colleague suggested I try out Amathus instead. I was very glad for the suggestion as I got an unusual bottle of wine at a very reasonable price and didn't have to fight off tourists to get it.

The prices were fairly reasonable but more importantly the staff were very knowledgable. I know nothing about wine and it was nice to have someone help me out without treating me like an idiot. They also have quite a good selection of cigars too.

Good in-store selection and the staff is helpful in terms of placing orders for you.

Have a range of Scandinavian spirits that are not the easiest to source in London.

Sono stato in questo negozio con la mia ragazza in occasione di una vacanza a Londra. Il locale si trova all'interno del Leadenhall Market e vende diversi tipi di alcoli in bottiglia: dal vino al gin passando per la vodka. Lo stabile è in perfetto stile retrò ed è diviso in sezioni che catalogano i prodotti per provenienza. Sono disponibili anche piccole bottiglie di liquore. Purtroppo, non di tutti i distillati sono presenti le confezioni da 100 ml utili per chi viaggia in aereo con il solo bagaglio a mano.

Sono stato nel negozio Amathus city nel mese di settembre ed ho trovato una competenza nel campo dei vini che raramente si riscontra in altri posti. Un grazie soprattutto ad Andrea per i consigli che ha saputo darmi.
