Beautiful church, unique Hawksmoor design. John Newton preached here, you can learn about some of the history with the signs they put up. There's a vibrant church here that has a lunchtime service and Sunday morning service.

I love attending church here, it's close to work so I can come in during the day when I need to de-stress. The community is amazing, so welcoming. The worship is great and they're not afraid to share real biblical truths here.

There's lunchtime services on Thursdays at 1pm and Sunday services at 10am.

Lovely Church! The lunch time service on Thursdays and the 10am Service on Sundays are beautiful - community is very welcoming & so are the Parish staff workers.

This place is absolutely fantastic, carrying the enduring legacy of John Newton with grace and charm. The people here are the epitome of warmth and love, making every visit feel like joining a family. The specialty coffee served here is simply wonderful, adding to the already delightful atmosphere. Without a doubt, it’s the best in the city!

A delicately imposing and elegant masterpiece by Hawksmoor. Design seems to loom broodingly in graceful bulk. Church seems to remain fairly active, being open for community purposes, but the draw here is the perfection of its design. The only complaint is the incessant traffic often blocking the church from different vantages.

Built by Nicholas Hawksmoor in the 18th Century, this site has been used for worship one way or another for over a 1000 years.
It's amazing facade is designed and built in the English Baroque style and is quite majestic.
In the very early part of the 20th Century it very nearly got demolished as the Bank underground station was in the process of being built, thankfully the public outrage.
This is now a Grade II listed building.
Seems very lively with a very nice lady serving teas/coffees in the foyer and she was doing a brisk trade at lunchtime.
This Church is obviously and pleased to see a thriving part of the local community.

Immortalised in T. S. Eliot’s The Waste Land:
‘Flowed up the hill and down King William Street,
To where Saint Mary Woolnoth kept the hours With a dead sound on the final stroke of nine’.
